  1. Welcome back to the world of Lego building, and to the forums Ian! Yep, it is definitely easy to go overboard in spending on sets, especially when coming out of the dark ages- There are so many superhero sets to choose from!
  2. Welcome back to the forums eanair! How nice to have your childhood old sets and in good condition. Happy building of your Lego city!
  3. Wonderful Moc! I love the quaint little scene you've created for you alien inhabitants going about their daily activities. The house design and alien foliage are really nice, especially the tan palm leaves with the purple bulbs.
  4. Welcome to the forum Bart. Those sound like some very interesting and fun hobbies and mechanical work you do. I look forwards to seeing some of your pictures.
  5. You are not the first person asking about this particular case. (Link is in to a website in German language, but can be translated). The weblink shows other views of the case where you can see the company name : Theia Spielwaren, a German company. It looks to made around the 1970s. The company made a number of cases for various toys including matchbox cars and dolls. I don't think the cases even came with the toys themselves depicted on the box, they were just made for storing what people already had.
  6. Ahhh, gruesome. I like how you created the eyes, like she's looking right at me .
  7. I find it both bizarre and funny. It seems like it might be an obsessor's sort of challenge, taking Lego building to the next level. Maybe geeky would have been a better word to use . Louder, I bet!
  8. Just started Contact by Carl Sagan. It is one of my favourite films, so this should be good too. My boyfriend told me to keep reading his books if I want to be smarter. Okay!
  9. Correct, your turn.
  10. Here you go:
  11. It's a perfect addition for a Friends' City! Well done.
  12. While I appreciate the facial variety in minifigs, I preferred the closed mouth look. It differentiated the Elves from the standard Friends minidolls, and made them look more solemn and peaceful, rather than bubbly. Nothing wrong with the smiling look though, just preference..
  13. Ultraviolet?
  14. L'eggo my Lego.

  15. Thanks for the clarification just2good! I'm surprised that we are getting another purple/lavender castle. The wind element seems over represented in the theme so far. Maybe it's because it has a girlier colour attached to it, relative to the elements. I looked up the name Regana. It translates as Witch in Lithuanian, which is fitting.
  16. Yes, it does look like a fire elemental symbol in the silhouette's hand! I agree with you. Skyra with adult earth dragon would be strange. We still haven't seen adult wind dragon yet. I'd assume it would be a purple colour.
  17. ^I assume it will cover all of this year's sets. That was the case with last year's book (which also apparently contained story details that weren't present in the videos or set story lines). I didn't buy last year's book but I think I'll get this one. It sounds intriguing.
  18. This may be one of the dorkiest Lego threads I've ever seen. Well done everyone. I think I'll skip the challenge though.
  19. I would want to replace bricks that are severely cracked or damaged, and probably wouldn't keep those ones unless they were rare. Would I pick out non-damaged bricks out of dog poo? Sure, but only if I was confident they could be completely sanitized with no odour remaining. I'll go through the dust compartment of the vacuum if I think it has sucked up so much as a stud. I just don't have a big enough Lego collection that I could knowingly throw away bricks.
  20. The newest Lego Elves book is coming out soon. It is titled "The Dragon Queen". Check out the Elves media thread for the image & info.
  21. Great find Maya. That's an interesting title. Is the 'Dragon Queen' actually a dragon? And if so, then perhaps it is Love Dragon that's on the boxes of the new sets. Here's what I found written about the new book: "Elves: The Dragon Queen 128 pages The dragon queen and her eggs have been captured. Can Emily and the elves hatch a rescue plan?" I wonder if the next castle set belongs to the Dragon Queen, or if it belongs to her captor.
  22. Nice overall build. I love the floor technique, it really transforms the otherwise plain pattern into something really interesting with the added depth.
  23. Are you referring to the dragon? If so, I think you missed that there is a baby dragon in the Pegasus Sleigh set . I guess that may have been Lego's sneaky way of hinted to us of adult dragons though. We are still missing a bunch of dragons and dragon related items: Adult Dragons: Wind & Love Baby dragons: Earth & Love Dragon eggs: Earth, Love & Water That's a lot! Hopefully Lego will give us a complete set of all the elemental dragons in their various stages. And if they do, I wonder if that means we are getting an extra large number of sets for the summer wave or an extra wave late 2016/earlier 2017.
  24. Hi Fortnerd. Yes, I can definitely relate to your experience with disinterest with Friends, and then doing a complete flip for Elves! They definitely remind me of the fantasy rpg video games I played, especially with elemental magic. We're the same age. Was Lisa Frank merchandise popular where you grew up as a kid? The rich colours of the Elves set sort of remind me of it, especially with your unicorn puke description. I think Lego Elves would have been great to grow up playing with.
