That would be a really useful feature to have!

When, instead of say the set name, people only state the set #. Ie "I just got 60100- what do you guys think of it?", "Which is better: 96969 or 96966?" or "Selling 75904, 10229, 41116, 10203, 874748424.... Make me a deal." I can't stand it. I don't have (or want) a memory for every single set id# Lego has ever released, nor do I feel like doing a search for every individual number series. When people only list set numbers in their topic, I lose immediately interest and leave the thread. Please provide the set name or at least part of it, not just set # !

I got Skyra's Mysterious Sky Castle and three CMF (Gargoyle, Witch & Zombie Captain). I've received Lego gift cards in the past, but this was the first time I got to open my Lego present on Christmas and start building it on the same day.

Been going for Christmasy movies now that I am finally on holiday. I watched Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. I think I'll go for Batman Returns or Die Hard next, or maybe Gremlins if I can find it. Okay, so some of these are true xmas movies per se, but they all take place at xmas so I watch 'em at this time of year.

Congrats on getting your first set! The 3-in-1 sets are a lot of fun and the bricks are quite versatile. You should check out Tomik's Lego Creator MOC series for ideas. Tomik has rebuilt a bunch of the creator sets into new animals/vehicles, including the one you just got. Have fun!~

I guess I can't change the way my brain works, but I regret not having been exposed early on to more intricate building beyond basic bricks, such as Lego Technic or K'nex. I'm envious of the Technic MOCs people here come up with, particularly thing like kinetic sculptures (vehicles are just not my thing).

The tension indeed. The odds are not in my favor. Posts in certain subforum sections (such as Community) don't go towards your total post count.

That's certainly true regarding the overlap between Friends and Elves. Friends is getting a huge variety of sub theme sets released at the start of January. I certainly wouldn't want all sets released at once. Though it would be nice to have sets of a single more evenly spread out over the year. I feel the wait between August 2015 and March 2016 is a bit too long. I also doubt that the wait hurts Lego sales too severely, unless sets all end up out of stock/sold out before the next wave. This is starting to happen with half of the first wave sets (At least in the western hemisphere I am seeing several of the <$40 sets sold out at the online shop). Of course, the other side is that Lego probably like to have a large portion of earlier wave sets gone to gauge success before investing in too many waves. I guess it's also important that Lego has enough time to develop the new story lines and media for the next wave, which could be part of the reason for the longer wait. Oh well, I'm just excited we are getting an expansion of Elvendale buildings and hopefully a villain!

Unfortunately it is March again, according to the German version of the LEGO catalog. So that means we can likely expect the castle set by the end of summer. Also- On the shop at shop at home website (at least in Canada and I believe US) they have sets being released for Jan 01 available for viewing. New new elves items posted yet. You'd think with the popularity of the Elves so far we could start seeing new Elves sets a little faster. Edit- Darn, Lyichir beat my response by seconds!

Right now a horticulture tech (working in garden/greenhouses), but it's not much of a living. I'm trained as a Geoscientist, however the oil+gas and minerals industries are garbage right now. I'm applying to do another master's degree, this time in Public Administration, so that I can get a government job in a year and start getting paid well. *sigh*.

After the first couple of purchases it stopping feeling awkward/ I stopped caring. I've also recently hit the age where sellers assume that the Lego is for my [non-existent] child. I think everyone has their own weird and unique hobby, collection or interest that they are into. If they don't, they are probably either lying or bored with their lives. The judgmental people tend to belong to the latter group.

It's great that Elves is turning towards a slightly darker theme. The need for the dragon and elves to work together to save Elvendale sounds promising, as does that suspected dark castle that we'll surely see in summer. We are getting glimpses of dark objects in the first 2016 wave; Fire Dragon's Lava Cave- That 'sinister well/cauldron' as Aanchir described it. Elvendale School of Dragons- On top of the tree there appears to be some kind of disc shooting device. Secret Market Place- At the blacksmith there are some tools that I find suspicious. Maybe part of a dark forge? Starlight Inn- Nothing stands out especially, except for perhaps that storm cellar which has black and lime green bricks, similar to the cauldron. It may be a smaller if they include the white dragon (to keep the cost of the castles comparable). Although I hope they don't, as I'd rather a larger castle. I suspect that, unlike Skyra's Castle, the new dark castle is taller instead of wider. In the catalog graphic it looks like the castle is three stories high. I originally thought that the white dragon was a wind dragon, as it also has gold and purple highlights- similar to Skyra's outfit and the wind animals (the pegasi, owl and bird). Now that we see the baby and parent dragons, I can see how closely they match, so that broke my theory. Great catch regarding the Love symbol on the dragon's forehead Soupperson! I'm still not super keen about the adult dragons, but I suspect they'll grow on me. There's definitely some great new pieces and builds in this wave. Those faceted translucent dragon eggs are much better than I was expecting.

Great modifications. It definitely looks much more like a jungle now. That crocodile and climbing, articulated monkey are so much better for scene than those desperate Friends' pets.

Very right handed, so I am envious of those of you who are ambidextrous. While I have no doubt that there is a genetic basis for right/left handedness and that people are born with it, I don't buy that lefties consumed their twin . My left hand is mainly used for removing lids off of jars, and for shooting rifles (because I'm left eye dominant). In highschool I would paint sculptures with a paintbrush in each hand, while talking to my art teacher. He thought I was crazy.

Flying Saucers
Iria replied to aeh5040's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice and very hypnotizing creation. While the colourful shadows moving across the floor are quite beautiful, the view of the MOC itself with all the moving components is amazing. That is a very clever illusion with the location of the dishes. -
It looks fantastic! You've done a really good job with the conical roof. The fantail, well and farm animals are all nice touches as well.

Will the whole Order arrive later when one Set wasn't available?
Iria replied to badchriss's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Like Breakdown said, they ship as they become available and at no extra cost. Last month I had one of my two orders split up. First set was shipped right away, the last set returned in stock much sooner than the website estimated and the packages were shipped three days apart. -
[MOC] Spirograph
Iria replied to Nalyd997's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So neat! I love the variety of designs your Technic spirographer has come up with. Such a diverse range (in fact, probably more diverse than what I've created with my old fashion spirograph set). Well done! -
Thank you for sharing some of the details of the book Aanchir. It was interesting to read the points in the spoilers. It sounds more enjoyable to read than the watching the mini-movie, which I found much too fast-pace and compressed to fully enjoy. The newer webisodes are getting better in my opinion. The first three were fairly cheesy with references to pop culture and reality TV. The recent webisode 5 was pretty decent with Skyra and a sneak peak at a new dragon. So far webisode 4 has been my favourite though. The idea of combining the Elves' magic with catastrophic results is interesting (plus that crystal cave was beautiful). I think the addition of Emily's fifth element balancing out the powers and allow the Elves' to combine their powers makes sense. I hope we get to see more that plot idea in 2016 episodes and maybe in the 4th wave sets. I'm still hoping for a battle somewhere in this theme. Maybe with dragons involved since we are going to get plenty next year.

I don't know the availability of the Elves activity books (or other Lego books for that matter) in regular bookstores. They are published by Scholastics and are at least available through Amazon. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find an pic of the owl set. It could be a 2016 owl or the 2015 white owl from Skyra's castle. No idea what other bricks may be included in the miniset either. For the price of the activity book I doubt there are many though, since it already comes with the owl after all.
