I love that lamp! It's great to see a western themed MOC. You've done a great job in creating the scene, not just the build techniques, but the choice of minifigs and faces as well.

[MOC] This forest isn't big enough for both of us

Funny. I wonder how the battle would play out. Is the female fire elf holding a flamethrower? And if so, does that mean the earth elf is holding a leaf thrower? Haha. -
Ooh thanks, I'll update the links in the first post soon. That is a nice mini lego set that it comes with too. Is that a new colouring for the 4x3 leaf? Or maybe a mis-colouring?

If anyone wants to procrastinate on whatever they need to do, I have a paper that still needs to be written. It's about glaciers. And trees. And more glaciers! Let me help you procrastinate, so that I can procrastinate. Everyone wins! Especially me.

Why is the SpongeBob Patrick minifigure flesh toned? It makes it look so much more disturbing than it would be with his normal pinkish colour. Actually it still would be creepy. How many children and baby ducklings have you eaten today, Patrick?

"Onward, my noble steed!" Fairy Tale Princess, Series 12, History Theme The princess learned the hard way that kissing frogs accomplishes nothing. She decides to take the task of rescuing her kingdom into her own hands, with the help of her noble steed of course. Addition images found here. -
The bear is okay. Just a standard soul-less teddy. That poor, traumatized dog is hilarious! The humanoid Belville figures are weirdly proportioned, especially that prince. I could almost tolerate that fairy, maybe. As for creepy minifigs... I'm certain someone unfamiliar with the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings would find Gollum terrifying: My Precioussss... LEGO.

In some angles the dragons look decent, while in others they look awful -such as that first pic below Just2Good's review video. The water dragon's head looks like it is floating due to the ball joint. I've warmed up to the dragons a bit, but I'm still undecided whether I'll be getting the sets that they are in for March wave. Plus this theme is looking to be quite pricey this year. I'm definitely looking forwards to the summer wave sets, which I think all look great, and more interesting IMO.

I'm also procrastinating on writing a paper, badly. Mine is due at the end of March, but that is an extended date from originally being due at the end of January. After spending my day toiling in a field I'd rather play my old GameBoy game and browse the forum, and post here. I hate paper writing. Cheers to hot chocolate, maybe I'll make some later instead of writing.

Strange Days. My boyfriend described it as one of the most disturbing movies he has ever seen, and couldn't finish it. There are a couple of very disturbing scenes in it, which I think could have been implied rather than acted out, and the movie would have been better for it. Overall I enjoyed this grungy neo-noir film, but I don't recommend it for the faint at heart, or those who typically enjoy light-hearted happily-ever-after flicks. I probably wouldn't watch it again unless I could find an edited version.

I recognize the characters, and the show they come from but I never knew there was a movie. Darn.

Nice work so far! I like seeing the progress you've made. I think you made great choices on the hair piece and torso. I think the hair colour is fine since it's not too bright a red. Also both are decent skirt pieces, I agree that Aira's skirt style is a better match to the art, but I think the blue one matches better with the top. I'd probably paint the white part of the Aira skirt a matching blue, and the trim a yellow-gold. I have minimal painting experience with minidolls, so I can't give advice there, other than I've found it difficult to get the paints not overly glossy. Emily and her grandmother shared the same eye colour, so you could use Emily's head as well for the figure. If you want a freckle-less head, I don't think I've seen the light green in the other minidolls. The Emma minidoll has dark green eyes.

Hmm. I wonder if it will be a longer movie split into three ~25min segments, which be excellent. Last year's movie was nice, but far too rushed. With ten sets this year, three additional characters, and a more complex story there is certainly enough material to make a three part movie.

These are great Lyichir! I saw those on the website and wondered who made them. I really love the Arboretum, and want to add it to my collection. It suits Elvendale so well.

Bingo! Your turn.

Okay, this one might be too obscure (I'll switch it in a day or so if no one guesses) : Hint:

Is it Mars Attacks! ?

It's too bad that LEGO has a tendency to neglect a gender in their themes. Sure, the Elves is going to be overall more directed females, but this theme has an opportunity to pull in both male and females with the fantasy theme and story lines involving dragons. I'm sure Lego realizes this already with the inclusion of male characters, and since they've even made sets lacking female Elves with Farran's Crystal Hallow and School of dragons. Regardless, even if no males were interested at all in the sets, female buyers will still want the male minifigures/dolls to have personalities, and varied physical characteristics. It wasn't much of a surprise that the sole male elf hairstyle was used for Johnny, because he was a minor character in both the sets and the minimovie. Tidus, however, is looking to be a more important character to the story, so a new hairstyle for him would have been great. As for the lack of accessories for Farran, that was also not surprising as he doesn't appear in neither of the two largest summer sets of this and last year. The question then is why couldn't he be included? He isn't a random supporting character, he's one of the five main characters. For the price of the ~$100 castle sets, I think it would have been fair and worthwhile to include Farran and his cloak/cape.

The Island. Meh. Not terrible, but definitely couldn't hold my attention very well and had some dumb plot situations.

The game is you need to guess the last movie pic correctly before it's your turn . It's Junior Sharks turn at the moment.

The green wing looks to be the same size as the white one, .Edit: Here's a pic that captures both wing colours.

What is the worst movie/game/song you ever seen/play/heard ?
Iria replied to YellowCorvette's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Worst move: Rubber (2010). It is about "A homicidal car tire, discovering it has destructive psionic power, sets its sights on a desert town once a mysterious woman becomes its obsession." Sounds kind of funny and it is for about a minute. The other 81mins are super painful and boring, and revolves around a random group of people in the desert watching the tire with binoculars. Please spare yourselves. The movie is kind of meta, and overall feels like a hipster art student's film gone wrong. The worst movie I have ever seen, and will possibly remain the worst for a long time. Before this one, the worse movie I had seen was a Mary Kate and Ashley go to Paris film. Rubber is much, much worse. Worst game: Advance Guardian Heroes (GBA), I think. Poor visuals with characters that just look weird, and sort of dance when they're fighting. Doubtful it's the worst ever, but I usually search for reviews on games before I make a purchase decisions. Played this one for about half and hour, then let my brother keep. Worst song: Only Girl in the World by Rihanna. Ahhk, more annoying than anything, and was on the radio everywhere all the time for what seemed to be at least two full years. I'm sure there's worse songs, but this one gives me an instant headache, and makes me want to smash things. -
The Revenant. It had been a long while since I'd seen a good survival/wilderness movie. Makes me want to go back to the Rockies for a hike.
