  1. Shorter legs work perfectly for minifigs because of their proportions. Dwarves have gruff, burly appearances, not skinny torsos (at least not in modern Tolkien fantasy). But yes, doubtful they would make an appearance regardless.
  2. The Christmas one looks perfect! Looks like the inside can spin, or would be very simple to modify to. I suspect this will sell out quickly.
  3. Dwarves would be wonderful to see, but I cannot imagine them in minidoll form. The slenderness works well for elves, but I doubt it would for dwarves. So a new mold would probably need to be made, which I doubt would happen, because of cost, and lack of potential usage in minidoll sets. I'm still hoping for mermaids in future waves (Mermaids were mentioned in one of the webisodes or minimovie).
  4. Mod: Naida's Spa Secret. Alternate views of the spa: The first is the Spa with extra foliage, and removal of the harsh magenta bricks: This one below has been rearranged to be part of the entrance way to Skyra's Castle. The dolphin is a statue that overhangs the waterfall. MOC: Elves Prison. This is a contribution from my boyfriend, who build this while I was modifying the castle. Holds max.1 elf. Currently Azari is housed inside. Maybe she was caught setting too many fires?
  5. ^I agree, for the most part the holes are not apparent when displaying them. Here's some more pics (yes I know I'm mixing fleshies with yellows. Customizers could use paint as a fix.) : Skyra, Naida and Farran/Jonny have holes on the back, while Skyra, Azari and Aira have holes on the top. Holes on the back are a more problematic for display in my opinion, especially for the light hair. But it's only a problem if plan on displaying them facing away from you, or with a top-down view. In any case, the minidolls hair style look and fit much better on minifigs than the other way around:
  6. I know! I need to start saving more somehow. Hopefully Crystal Mine has no adult dragons. I want as much Mine and crystals as possible. I hope there is a rail track and cart, and pickaxes, or something to differentiate it from an ordinary cave. Definitely! (I bet). That would make an equal ratio of sets with and without adult dragons, identical to what we get in march. One adult dragon of each element is enough. I hope there is no doubling.
  7. Thanks for the list! Looks like a great summer lineup. It makes sense that the Castle and Rescue are separate, otherwise it would be fairly expensive and/or a fairly small castle. Separate sets allows for more detailed builds, which they deserve. I'm betting the Regana's Castle will be a similar size to that of Skyra's. Maybe slightly taller and narrower. 41179 Queen Dragon’s Rescue 41180 Ragana’s Magic Shadow Castle These two below really have my attention, since they are unexpected. I'm sure the Mine will be lovely with a bunch of translucent bricks. I wonder what the Dragon Sanctuary will look like. What kind of environment do the dragons live in? They can fly, so will it be sky or mountain based? I hope there are lots of natural/foliage elements. So far early 2016 has had more emphasis on buildings, which is good, but I love the nature-focused sets. 41177 Precious Crystal Mine 41178 Dragon Sanctuary
  8. Correct. Your turn.
  9. Guess away:
  10. The Birds.
  11. The Salvation. Alright, nothing too out there for a western. Decent acting, especially from the Danes. But the obvious CGI took away from the movie. I wished they filmed it in the actual southwest.
  12. I like the simplicity of the build and colour choice. These little vignettes make a nice and thoughtful gift.
  13. Sort of like an anti-hero? Could be interesting, though I'm not sure whether Lego wants to venture into morally-ambiguous territory (even though it's fairly popular in other media/movies at the moment). Adults like to present the world as black and white to kids, with maybe the bad guys as merely misguided with potential for redemption. In the context of Elves, I don't know how it could turn out how an evil queen/witch had good reasons to chain up the Love Dragon.
  14. This is such a beautiful and rich fantasy Moc you have built. (One of the bests I have seen in a long time). You've have really packed a lot of fairy tales and details within, without making it look too cluttered. I love the depth and scale you've built to, especially with that hidden mine filled with dwarfs. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party scene is a great one to see too.
  15. The new sets are looking great. The artwork on the box is really pretty and the new characters look excellent. I want to see that map! No idea what the hourglass will be for, but it definitely looks to be an important piece for the story as it is shown in all the new artwork. Maybe it's used to subdue or defeat Regana somehow? Or maybe it ages the dragons from baby to adult so they can defeat Regana. (Okay, maybe that theory is a bit crazy). Not a bad theory. I think it would be a nice change to have the first villain as an earth elf, since evil fire beings are so cliche. Her outfit's colour scheme looks like it's more green+black/or possibly burgundy. And the chain holding the love dragon is also lime green. It would not surprise me at all if Regana were a one of the five sisters, and if she were redeemed by the end of the year. One of the major story themes so far in Elves is bringing people together, so I doubt they'll keep her as a continual antagonist. Even when redeemed, Skyra still has part of her cold personality, and it could end up being the same for Regana. If she's not redeemed, then what could be her villainous plot be after the dragons are saved? It's better if her story ends with the 2016 waves, so the Elves' adventures can continue in new territories.
  16. Thank you Aanchir. Good suggestion about adding a second pair of wings to the chariot. I agree that it doesn't look like it could fly as it is, with only those tiny wings on the pegasus.
  17. Captain Phillips. Great film.
  18. My first Elves moc - Aira's pegasus chariot. I still don't have the Pegasus Sleigh set, so I have to make do with this: Thank you! Ooops. Thanks for letting me know. Photos are now set to public.
  19. Some trees of Elvendale... Modifications to 'Farran and the Crystal Hollow' set to make the tree more full. I hope to create a moc sometime that better depicts the Sparkle Rock from the Elves shows. Thank you! I tried to keep it as colourful and symmetrical as possible. Thanks, I'll get some more up soon.
  20. Hi Everyone. This thread is to share my Elves’ theme MODs and MOCs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Index of MOC/Ds: - Clicking on the image will redirect you to the post. Newest additions (as of Aug'16): Older: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have several creations & modifications, but I’ll start off with my biggest mod yet: The expanded Mysterious Sky Castle. The first castle of the Elves theme is quite beautiful, but was a bit too cramped for my liking. I started off by doubling the floor space. This was a rather easy modification to do. All you need is some plates, a few extra tan bricks and whatever else you want to add to the new space. If you have the castle, I definitely recommend widening the castle. After that I decided to add a new floor, which I placed below the existing ones. I incorporated the rockwork, and lava/waterfalls from the Elves Spa and Bakery sets. More to come!
  21. Hi VQ, welcome to the forum. I've checked out the Mocs you've posted so far- your medieval castle is impressive, especially at that scale. I also like the styling of your tradition Chinese village house. Thanks for sharing!
  22. Hi Cricchio, welcome to the forums. That's a nice collection of cranes and city sets you have there, it's lucky that you save your sets. Thanks for sharing!
  23. Hi Wolfmaster. Wow, you've been building from a young age. Yes, please feel free to share your creations. Welcome to the forums.
  24. Welcome Dranac. I look forwards to seeing some of your builds!
  25. Welcome to the forums Kyo! Those sound like great memories you have of building castles and battle scenes. Good luck in building your collection up to build more. Joining a guild sounds like a good idea. Even if you don't have the best or biggest selection of bricks, you can always start with small creations. Have fun!
