Same. It makes me think we are going to have to wait a very time for the 3rd wave sets to be released. Hopefully they will all be amazing, making the wait worth it.

Nice colour choice! It's good to see some interesting hair colours going to the males. Farran's hairpiece looks a little boring compared to the rest of the Elves.

You are correct. Your turn.

I would be more worried about possible coatings added affecting the fish more than the Lego bricks themselves. I don't know about toxicity of Lego, but in regards to the 'it's safe enough for kids to put in their mouths, so it should be safe for fish' argument- keep in mind most kids are not keeping bricks in their mouths for months at a time. I'm guessing over a long time water may leach chemicals from the bricks, as normal tap water is slightly acidic. I doubt a minifigure or two will be an issue unless the tank is super tiny. Your bricks will probably end up smelling like algae over time as well, so don't put anything irreplaceable in the tank. This blog post (and a bunch of other aquarium websites) detailing their Lego aquarium describes LEGO as a safe addition, though I personally would not add it to aquariums with very expensive or fragile fish, as a precaution. A lot of Lego floats, so you'll need to anchor it down, otherwise your minifig is going to injure the fish. Also, make sure that any small bricks have very good clutch and are securely attached to other bricks, as some fish like to nibble at their surroundings. You wouldn't want a fish to accidentally swallow a stud.

Can't buy bricks through Lego Customer Service

I've encountered this frustrating problem. Clearing cache+cookies solved the problem. Also make sure you don't have extra LEGO webpages open. -

Good thing I'm not a pretty little minidoll.- So I should be safe, right? -
I love that idea - as long the alternative build(s) are included as paper instructions. Having to use a computer and internet to download additional instructions is not that appealing when the point of building is having the physical blocks (exception being if you are into LDD of course). I think it's feasible to implement at least one alternative model every so often within a theme. I'm guessing the LEGO Creators make plenty of alternative builds during the design process anyways. A potential con could be an increase in the cost of the set, from addition printing+paper at the very least. This could be offset by more people buying the sets though, as at least one more of the builds might appeal to them, and sets with alternative builds are definitely value added.

Writing - This occupies a lot of my free time. I occasionally write short stories based on my dreams. At the moment I'm working on two manuscripts for academic journal publication. Not that fun. Creative - I include LEGO MOCing in this umbrella category. It also includes painting, drawing, building art random things etc. I'm not really consistent with any one of these. Hiking - I like exploring new areas and finding hidden waterfalls, radar towers and other neat stuff in the woods. Target practice- Haven't done this one in a while though. Reading - Currently sci-fi anthologies and a book on how to get your pilot's license.

Oooh, very spooky (but not too scary with that face). I love how you built the grave and the crack running through it. The added glow around the spectre is a nice touch.

I've never had an issue with the boxes aside from occasional contorted instruction manuals inside them, which the shrink wrap+cardboard would certainly help (as suggested by MAB above). The box sizes are often way larger than necessary but that's LEGO's decision based on research and marketing, and doesn't really impact me anyways. I'd rather LEGO keep box quality as it is and avoid compartmentalization/ higher quality to keep costs lower. For the majority of consumers I'm betting boxes are destined for the trash/recycling bin rather than keeping as part of the collection.

^Agreed. If LEGO online ships to your location than there often isn't much you can find in the store that is unavailable online in terms of exclusives. The major exception being Pick a Brick wall, which can occasionally be substantially less expensive than anywhere online, especially if you take your time with packing or there are bricks of particular significance /rarity (though selection is random and limited in store). Still, it's worthwhile to visit a LEGO store at least once. I like the suggestion of a 'skype walk' that a poster mentioned above, so you can see what available. Or even if your friend could give you a call and describe what's on the wall.

Huh? Oops, I didn't really explain myself well. Obviously women can drive and vehicles are driven my female minifigs. I was arguing that I believe the City theme is geared towards males more as there tends to be a lot of vehicles (the original poster stated City was gender neutral). I see more vehicles in City than in Disney/Friends/Elves. This is definitely not a bad thing in anyway. Boys have a different play style than girls. Again, not complaining that there are more boyish sets (IMO) in City or other themes as males are a far larger consumer of Lego, so their interests should have a higher representation in sets. Of course there are more males tin physically demanding jobs. Those careers are the ones I most frequently see within the City theme. Sorry, I don't quite understand your last sentence. You don't think the examples (police/firefighter) are male dominated? I consider a 'male-dominated' field to be one with a larger % of males involved in roles and decision making. Yes, very true and better phrased than what I wrote!

A male-female double sided head is such simple and obvious solution now that you suggest it. It would of course, as you mentioned, only work with neutral torsos. Lego likes to add curves and breasts to female minifigs. In some cases it seems pointless, for example the arctic explorer which could have easily avoided a female torso printing. A heavy parka will look the same on men as it will on women- bulky. It's not really an issue in the grand scheme of things, but it does make me roll my eyes a little bit. Which are the men and which are the women? Overall though, I am happy to have females represented in sets, so I shouldn't complain. Interesting to note that having both male and female option to a single minifig may be coming in a 2016 set: The 40221 Seasonal set (Scenic scene) appears to have two hair styles on the water fountain statue, presumably the extra is female one (it has a hole common to hairpieces that can have bows/flowers/crowns stuck on) All you need to do is remove the helmet and beard to transform the statue. . I think in this case it's a really neat idea and makes the minifig much more versatile.

It's from the company Moore Educational. I'm guessing it's an exclusive. Unfortunately the company only ships within Australia as far as I could tell.

This is such an interesting MOC and a pleasure to look at and explore all the details. I keep coming back to it.

Haha! Very funny and creative. The drumset is very well made.

When I read the title I was hoping these would be customized minidolls- you did not disappoint! I love seeing minidolls transformed and given personalities. Gaby and Gwendoline are my favourites. I'm not hipster enough to understand why cat shirts are ironic, but it did make me chuckle nonetheless.

Nice balconies. The olive green and the reds work surprising well together. I like the front entrance ways. Not a fan of the brown but you did mention it's a ram-shackle building, so I guess brown does work in that respect, also the dumpster out front.

Wonderful mini architecture series you have here! It really shows what a creative mind can come with using the studio set. I love how you have taken the photos using the same perspective as the real life counterpart. The #2 building with your catwoman is a photo by Jeffrey Smart, building in Adelaide Australia. Tip/trick: You can drag images and drop them into Google Images search bar to search an image to find it's original source (often),

The rocket and team looks really interesting, Looks nice for the small amount of pieces used. Unfortunately the blurriness is probably preventing a lot of people from commenting.I wonder if there is a way for you to steady your tablet on something when taking a picture? Or use a smart phone camera. I would really like to see a clear pic of your moc! :)
