Technic 2018 Set Discussion

Will have to robb bank, wife will divorce etc. ... don't forget https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/150354-bugatti-chiron-rebrickable/ -
It was pretty easy to put servo - in most front part of car, HOG steering was not touched. Also reciever was easy to put on in front, just behind the front axle. I put battery on top of rear axle, roll cage had to be removed, those axles with pinholes. But I couldn't find easy place for motor/-s. So I didn't continued at the moment.

[WIP] some offroader
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, there are 2 motors. Mainly I wanted to build lightweight axle, pretty close to some real ones. Of course best (from power transmission point of view), would be to put motors on axle, drive wheels directly or trough knob gears. That was not the plan. -
Lego brick 60th birthday build

cool! -
Maybe some suspension would be still good, but, to keep it good in corners, maybe make it really simple, like on 42075. Make some experiments, and try to adjust it just for that jump.

thank You, I know it. For differential different design is needed also. No :) it's pretty sturdy, it is not the weakest part. I need to improve connection to body, because there is possibility of tohose pins to pop out. If I'll downgear, then also the speed will be so miserable, that theres no need to change anything at all. If it would run from some buggy engines, then it could be different story. For fun I have at home https://www.google.lv/search?q=extendable+drive+shaft&rlz=1C1GGRV_enLV751LV751&oq=extendable+shaft -
[WIP] some offroader
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think no, because with standard it fits just perfectly, but something else will be longer, I think. I could try to make middle part of camshaft shorter, but, then it wont have needed travel. -

Looks strange. Wheelbase needs to be longer. This looks more like monstertruck.- 12 replies

Wouldn't this gearing be too fast? Those gears, most probably, will slip. Anyway, interesting idea. -
I would buy Mercedes, because it is more Technic, also form parts point of view. And it's Mercedes :) I bought it some time ago allready without even thinking twice, just waited for some discounts. And I'm not even considering Mack. Maybe I'll try to build it form parts I own.

Isn't that suspension too wobbly? I'm afraid, that under load it will also broke, especially because of that lower connection of shock absorber. Gearbox is nice. Why You are making really fake engine? It seems to me, that it will look to small for this scale.

I like the size (I had the same plan in fact ...) Front, especiallu bonnet could be more streamlined (? don't know correct term) You could try to make version with boxer fake engine and HOG steering. -

I checked pictures, but can't see anything there. Maybe I just did it that way. Also LDD allows to put that gear on bottom. -
