  1. Amazing! Nice videos too! I like how you -literally- framed the explanation of the mechanisms.
  2. Very impressive, good geometry on the bucket! I’m surprised the L-motor can propel this monster. Did you have drawings or photos of the real model to work from? It looks a bit narrow, but maybe that’s just what it looks like.
  3. It would be cool if you could make the figure actually press the weight, maybe with some crank mechanism.
  4. I love retro computing and have made some simple emulators for work in the past, but this seems a big undertaking. I admit not knowing anything about interface A, so quick a primer would help in assessing the feasibility of such a project. In any case, how do you envision “closing the loop”, making sensors react to things moved by motors?
  5. Do we need yet another topic to complain about the number of cars in the lineup? Among the dedicated MOC topics currently on page 1 of this subforum, I count 12 cars, 2 trucks, 1 truck/crane, 1 combine harvester and 1 robotic arm. I can’t blame LEGO for concluding that people like cars.
  6. Really cool model, and awesome video!
  7. That’s the “Stop” of Axle 5L with Stop.
  8. That’s awesome! The minifigs moving trolleys is already cool, but having the legs move is a massive flex, well done! Did you have to lubricate or otherwise modify the legs to move them so easily, or does the mechanism provide enough force by itself?
  9. A spam comment was added to the thread, pushing the thread to the first page. I think that when the spam was removed, the thread went back to its original place in the listing.
  10. You need to put the device in “developer mode” and then you can install apps signed with a regular iCloud account. However, it seems that such apps have limited “lifetime” and after a week or so are disabled. In any case, you need XCode, which is a seriously big installation.
  11. This looks great! I really like this scale and admire how many functions you managed to squeeze in. The modularity is a great plus!
  12. How did that 5L connector end up under “beams”?
  13. I had thought the same @Appie, an extra stud in the front is not much, but it might allow the larger LA. I’m getting convinced about a v2 iteration.
  14. Thanks @Good old Lego builder, glad you like it
  15. Thanks @1gor! Yes you’re right about the wheel base. After I finished (yes I know), I checked the scale with a similar Komatsu, and indeed it should have been two studs longer. Maybe for version 2
  16. Thanks @Jundis! I tried with a lot of combinations, also with the larger LA. This was the best I could come up with given the constraints (also time). The medium LA is quite a bit bigger: retracted it’s as long as the extended small LA. Ideally I’d like something in between. In the video of @mahjqa you can see it in action: I’ll try to shoot something after I come back from vacation.
  17. After having built the 42209 Volvo Wheel Loader, I got inspired (like many others ) to build an RC version. However, I got ambitious and went for a slightly bigger size. I'm quite happy with the result: It has 4 PU L motors. It has 4x4 drive using the new differentials: I struggled a lot with the kinematics. While @Jundis excellent explanation was a good starting point, I didn't manage to get a satisfactory kinematics across the whole range of motion: Especially at the top the dumping performance was poor: Eventually, I ran out of time for the event (Load Zone - bulk goods) and gave up. I might revisit it some time, but nonetheless, it was a lot of fun to drive around with. High-resolution photos are on Bricksafe. Hope you like it!
  18. This dump truck was built for the Load Zone - Bulk Goods event. It's simple, but works well and easy to drive. The dump bed lock mechanism is described nicely by @Appie, so I won't repeat that here. It's simple but effective. The front-end is almost the same as that of my previously posted RC truck, the rear obviously rebuilt to accommodate the dump bed. High-resolution photo's are on Bricksafe. Hope you like it!
  19. Really cool build, too bad there’s no flux capacitor in the back The fifth photo (doors open, from behind) is very low resolution for me, maybe it didn’t upload correctly?
  20. The bovine of doom visited me shortly after. I was building the new Volvo wheel loader — surprisingly, my first encounter with the new diffs — when I ran into exactly this problem. Assembled the diff, axles won’t turn. Disassembled it, everything runs fine. Reassemble it, stuck again. Thought of your adventure here and resolved it. Cheers!
  21. I saw (and played ) with an earlier version that still had the ropes I think. The chain looks so much cooler! Amazing work and video, as usual!
  22. How the heck do you reverse engineer that from just the marketing photos? Amazing!
  23. Oh right, I didn’t even see that @Jockos that seems to settle it.
  24. The Dutch site also mentions a rechargeable battery. Either the English site got it wrong, or all the other languages got it wrong because they all used the same wrong text to translate from. I hope the first, I expect the last.
