  1. A very beautiful church Capt Wolf! I like the stonework on the outside, it’s varied while remaining clean looking – not something I think is easy to pull off! Then I like that for the interior you’ve created a separate ‘skin’. Great build and lovely addition to Weelond!
  2. Nice - a Fabuland spade! I have snuck one into one of my builds in the past!!
  3. I lovely build all round. Great job!
  4. Thanks for the comments guys! I really enjoyed this one! Much more so than my last couple. Hope to have more for Mooreton Bay soon!
  5. A very neat build, the yellow highlights do indeed look good on the tower. Love that tree! Great job!
  6. Carnington - lol!!! Great story, I particularly like your mosaic flooring and pine trees!
  7. Seriously great job all! A difficult choice!
  8. Wow, this is (as usual) fantastic!!! The stone work is great, but my favorite parts are the wooden sections - they are perfect. The purple trees add an usual but very effective use of colour. Keep up the great work!!
  9. Thanks everyone for the comments, I appreciate your thoughts! Regarding the aged look I added a picture of the real fort Denison in my earlier reply to show the effect I was trying to get with the sandstone - it still might be a bit overdone, but like several of you commented I too like the end result too much to consider changing it! I agree the trans light blue added some much needed colour - I was considering not making the rock base and stairs and just presenting on the square plate. I'm glad I added the rocks and water! Yep, I know that feeling! Even though I grew up seeing the real thing frequently I had never heard of a Martello tower until this project - it was an interesting read!
  10. All that dark red looks great, especially when highlighted with the black details (I really need to get some more dark red!!). Your hard work with the colour combinations has paid off, everything just works really well. That road looks amazing... and yet so frustrating at the same time - I hope you have small fingers, I'm pretty sure I'd need tweezers...
  11. A fine silver smelter, the furnace and press both look really good and I like you have captured the details of the process, great job!
  12. A fine (if somewhat blue) and well needed addition to the Royal Fleet!
  13. Now that sir, is a pirate ship! Great work, a fearsome looking ship that is sure to strike terror across the brick seas!
  14. Yeah, it would be interesting, still I hope we can peacefully co-exist for at least a while!
  15. A really lovely Xebec Pred. The hull details are fantastic and the colour scheme works really well - especially the highlights (who would have thought, green and blue....!). I like that you managed to rake the masts. If I ever re-visit my Xebec I'll be sure to attempt this. The crew themselves also look great - the mix of fleshies and yellow for different 'skin' colour here works and some of those combos are really cool! Speaking of the crew, is New Olean populated by middle-eastern type people? I've been wondering for some time about the make up of the old world - very interesting.
  16. Indeed a lovely looking swamp, the hanging vegetation looks great and really gives it that dense swampy feel. Great job!
  17. lol, I wish Eurobricks had a 'like' button....... This is why Bregir is our diplomat!!!!
  18. Thanks... I think... Good point with the aged look. Most of the convict hewn sandstone structures I've seen are quite rough and uneven, with the sandstone itself showing different shades and colours. (admittedly the structures I'm talking about are mostly between 150-200 years old!) I may have over done it a bit in Lego... but I like the end result! EDIT: This is the original Fort Denison so you see what I mean about the sandstone. As for warmongering... this fort is quite clearly purely a defensive structure to protect the peace loving Corlander settlers of the previously unclaimed part of the island known as Alicentia. If there is conflict I doubt it will be Corlanders who fire the first shot (unless that shot is in self defence.... ). Jeez with this reaction anyone would think my fort is costing you greenbacks doubloons or something.... ------ Thanks Faladrin!!
  19. Fort Denison has been constructed in Mooreton Bay to defend the entrance to the harbour.
  20. Of course one of the first priorities of a new colony, especially one surrounded by potential enemies, must be it's defence. To this end Major Dirk Allcock has designed and had constructed a small fort in the entrance to the harbour. A small rocky outcrop, not even really an island, was flattened out and a small tower was constructed on it. The round construction using thick bricks of sandstone from the newly established quarry makes the squat fortress impervious to all but the largest cannon fire. Eight 18 pounder cannon give a full 360 degree coverage of the harbour, although not all can be used at once, in-fact only 2 artillery crews can really fit inside at one time, but 8 cannon looks more intimidating, and if all the cannon are pre-loaded it saves in reloading time! Here Dirk conducts an inspection of the finished tower. Details. Licensed as a small fort, Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. I really wanted to get a fort in before the end of the month and it would seem I have (just) made it!! I was feeling insecure for my little settlement with the unknown forces of Garvey next door (not to mention the strangely suspicious island choices of Olean). Not sure how the Garvians are going to react to the glorious presence of our Empire on what they may have mistakenly thought was their island Anyway the build is inspired by the real Fort Denison in Sydney harbour. The only example of a Martello tower in Australia, it was obsolete before construction had even finished!
  21. That tree is incredible! Beautiful work, well done! Edit: the more I look at the photos the more detail I see. The plates instead of tiles where the oars have been dipped in the water.... really nice build!
  22. Great to see some of our captures make it out of drydock, they are well needed! The ship itself is very nice, a clean and efficient look, great sails and an interesting sail plan. Although the armament may be a little oversized, those big cannon sure make her look intimidating! Great work SilentWolf, keep it up!!
  23. As others have said there are some great details in this market and I like that you took the time to photograph and create stories for some of them! The building itself is very nice, for some reason the medium dark flesh brick facade immediately makes me think this has Dutch influence, so you definitely achieved your goal with that for me!
  24. Yet another fantastic ship KB! I love your different sail plans, they always make for an interesting vessel. I've been wondering for a while, would it be possible for you show us the basics of how your excellent brick build hulls are put together? I've been thinking I'd like to try a KB style ship....
  25. The dense jungle is represented quite well, good job! I do feel sorry for the guy in the steel breast plate though, that must suck!!!
