  1. Nice! I love the house design, I shall be studying it closely! A unicorn you say, how fascinating! We shall have to closely examine it - it could be one of the greatest discoveries of our time... or just an elaborate hoax - who knows?! Will you be licensing the house?
  2. Hmmm, good points about Africa. What made me think India was basically the reasons Elostirion states above - the location and in my mind Mokolei Empire and Allied States = Mughal Empire??
  3. Does anyone have any objections to me portraying people from the southern part of the Mokolei Empire as similar to the historic Indian subcontinent? Sort of similar to Phred's portrayal of people from the New Olean area as Middle Eastern (which I am a huge fan of BTW and incorporated into a recent build).I have a storyline in mind and some Indian style buildings I'd like to do along these lines. In short basically a Prince from the loosely federated states of the Mokolei Empire flees to the new world with his family and retainers. They form a small community in my settlement (a Mokolei quarter?) I can then do some residential and cultural builds in an Indian type style and raise a company of Sepoys. Would this be a problem with the overall story?
  4. Yep, looks like your rifle troops really are elite special forces! That's a fairly innovative way to take back a ship in this period!!
  5. A question for leadership regarding monthly property licence limits. The rules state: "A builder can buy and establish one piece of property per month in two locations, or three properties per month in one location. This limitation can change with rank and skills earned as the project progresses." Does this mean overall properties built by you or just properties licensed in your name? For example, say I licence my three properties for the month in one settlement in my name. Can I licence an additional fourth property in the name of a Royal Society or Trade Company? Or is this considered 'gaming the system'?
  6. The ETTC has constructed a medium sized warehouse and offices in Mooreton Bay.
  7. The largest building constructed so far in the fledgling colony of Mooreton Bay is the newly completed ETTC Warehouse and Offices. Constructed on a large plot of ground with future expansion in mind, the imposing looking brick structure serves as both a warehouse on the ground floor, and offices on the top floor. What is the ETTC you ask? A very good question. Well, we can't tell you too much, but the East Terran Trading Company is a secretive consortium of prominent Corlanders operating in the new world. Unlike certain other faction's trade companies, the primary goal of the ETTC is not profit, although it is of course desirable! Indeed rumour has it a large dividend was just paid out to the companies shareholders! Rather the primary goal of the ETTC is to work to advance the national aims and goals of the crown of Corrington in the New World. And that my friends is enough said regarding the ETTC. Here in the yard, ETTC Foreman Noel Paterson supervisors some sailors loading recently arrived maritime cannon carriages onto a cart for transport to a waiting ship. You may recognise Noel and the cart from his recent work collecting bananas from a local plantation. A hired guard stands at the entrance and a native warrior waits patiently for his chief who is inside the building. On the first floor Colin Jenkins, the principle agent for the company on Alicentia, negotiates with one of the native chiefs. The natives have been supplying raw materials in exchange for goods such as iron cookware and utensils. Jenkins, together with Paterson are the companies only paid employees on Alicentia. Together they look after the companies interests in Mooreton Bay and Corrish Alicentia. ______________________________ A warehouse trying out some techniques with the 'brick' bricks. I would have liked to make the interior bigger (it was originally planned to be 16 studs wide) but I ran out of the 'brick' bricks for the walls. That won't happen again as I have 399 dark tan arriving this week bringing my dark tan total to over 500! I have some plans for those bricks and wanted to play with some different styles with this build. Any hints or tips into this style of 'clean' building with these bricks is very welcome. Licensed as a medium commercial property for the ETTC.
  8. Wow that's one great looking ship SilentWolf and most importantly she's one of ours! Nice colour scheme, great looking crew and I really like the sail plan. Fantastic job!
  9. That roof looks great, combined with the barrels as supports, the benches and table and the bustling scene, this is one great little vignette! Great job Kai!
  10. Great serious of vignettes Faladrin! The scene where Father Tholeau is washed up is my favourite, everything is done well, the sand, the waves and the debris. Great entry!
  11. Interesting take on the legend, Father Tholeau's guards look rather intimidating though for a resort! On a serious note the SNOT ground was well worth the effort - great job.
  12. I agree with Kaiju, the forced perspective indeed works well even without the background out of focus. For a large puddle it does look quite scenic!
  13. A cautionary tale! It may be last minute but the story is still quite good, and something is better than nothing (which is what I got done for CatB!)
  14. Agreed, that is some very nice rock work!
  15. Great ship Puvel and an impressive addition to our fleet! I especially like the shape of the bow - makes her look quite sleek. Good to see some of our captures being fleshed out - fantastic job!
  16. Thank you everyone for your comments! I did consider this, and now you've pointed out I regret not going through with it. I'll definitely try a MOC door on my next build! Thanks! Thanks Kai, believe it or not it's the first time I've tried it! I've been stockpiling dark red 1x1 round bricks for a while waiting for this day, unfortunately my sorting wasn't the best and I found an additional 20 or so after I'd finished and photographed the build. Thanks Faladrin, I saw the technique on YouTube for flooring and immediately decided I needed to try it as a fence. Thanks Capt Wolf, I get alot of my inspiration from your settlement builds so your compliment means alot! Thanks SilentWolf, If I've ever get time on my building list maybe I can loan your minifigs the services of the architect for a residence in Elizabethville!
  17. Great story Capt Wolf and very well presented. I like the way you've used wedges in the beach scene to represet the disturbed sand pushed to each side of the bow of the boat when it landed. The foliage in the monkey picture also looks lush and green. Great job and a definate contender for the win in my mind!
  18. Lovely church Captain Braunsfeld, those stain glass windows are so bright and colourful and would surely be enticing people into the church! The Zeus figure with the lighting rod is really cool as well - great job!
  19. Thank you everyone! Thanks for the suggestions Garmadon and Kai, I appreciate the effort you guys put into your feedback and value your insight. I'll be sure to try the white technique you guys suggest in a future waterfall!

  21. Captain Matthew Sawkins of the Lady Jacqueline has had a small residence constructed in Mooreton Bay for his family.
  22. Captain Matthew Sawkins of the Lady Jacqueline has had this fine but modest house constructed in a prime location in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. Here he and his wife Hannah enjoy a relaxing drink on their upper balcony with beautiful views of the bay. In the street below a baker originally from New Olean sells his wares in a handcart. The Sawkins' son Craig can be see playing in his bath in the yard (under the watchful eye of his nanny of course - safety first!) _________________________________ A quick house for Mooreton Bay. Licensed as a small residence. C&C welcome!
  23. Lovely ship Legostone and as a Corlander I am very grateful for your shipyard's services, great job and thank you!
  24. Indeed, I do believe Captain Bran is displaying typical Corlander disdain for all this superstitious fountain of youth nonsense!! Almost pirate like....
