Well it is that time of the year again - the festivities in Weelond are in full swing!!! Schoolmaster Elliot from the 'Red School' takes some of his current pupils out into the streets to witness some of the festivities (and warn against excessive drinking....) There are many sights to see, staff from the nearby tavern deliver beverages to the revellers. A street performer from a far away land charms a deady cobra with his flute playing, a baker sells loafs of fresh bread and some Eslandolan musketeers keep order in the streets. -------- Able to be licensed as a medium property - could be either commercial or artisan... @Capt Wolf let me know which you prefer for Weelond's development!

I don't mind the torso, and like the others have pretty much all said the brown pants look the best - the lone-ranger ones you've selected should work ok. However what makes these guys elite? They look very much the same as your regular marines. Elite troops like everyone to know they are elite! IMO they need something distinctive that sets them apart from your regulars. Epaulettes have been suggested and they'd probably work - I'd go for red if you have any, although red are starting to get a bit expensive on BL since they haven't been released since the original 1989 pirate series. If you're into designing troops, check out Cooper Read on Flickr (If you haven't already), he is one of my favourite army builders. He does a lot of modern (20th Century and above) stuff but also lots of Napoleonic era stuff like these guys: Napoleonic Military by Cooper Reed, on Flickr Royal Navy and Marines by Cooper Reed, on Flickr

I like this one, the architecture of the building façade is quite good and the minecraft tile is a NPU. Nice to see a somewhat different environment than the normal BoBS setting.

BoBS CMF: Corrington Double Edition + Bonus Figure
Ayrlego replied to Captain Dee's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That is a truly impressive collection Captain Dee, even more so that you managed to stick with titles all beginning with C! Many to like, but I think among my favourites are the Cheese monger (is that torso custom?), Coal miner, Cartographer, Coppersmith and Crabber. Great job!- 9 replies

Jameis Farstrider's Guide to Halos
Ayrlego replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Mardier Flag: Primary Colour: Yellow Secondary Colours: Orange and White Demonym: Mardierians Nickname: 'The Old Empire' Primary Real World Influences: A Spanish/Portuguese sized empire with a Spanish/Italian/Portuguese like culture and Byzantine politics. Ruler: King Alphonse XIII Capital: Londa People The majority of Mardierians are ethnic Madrician and share a similar culture to other nations in the 'Golden Triangle' of the North Eastern Madrice Peninsular. An extensive aristocracy exists, although many of the great noble houses have been destroyed in the recent civil war and new blood is rising to fill the void. Most Mardierians still follow the Faith, although there is a large degree of separation of Church and State. History Situated to in the north of the 'Golden Triangle' of the Eastern Madrice peninsular, the 'Old Empire' was once the largest and most powerful nation of the whole peninsular. Mardier was the first nation to breakaway from the short lived Madrice Empire around the year 103AE, followed shortly after by Corrington, Oleon, Varcoast and Pontilla. After costly victory in the 'war that time forgot' in 352, high taxes caused large scale revolts, fracturing Mardier with the creation of the nations of Namere, Carno, Garvey, Baldondia, and Eslandola. In the period to follow, the new nation of Eslandola eclipsed Mardier as the power broker of the Great Triangle region. This was to somewhat change with the discovery of the Basker Islands and Terraversa in 511, allowing Mardier to regain some of its former glory. Terraversa was a rich island, having both moderate mineral wealth and the capability to grow both Tobacco and Sugar, but more importantly it's strategic location meant that only the Mardierians could venture to the fabled New Terra. For almost the next 80 years Mardier jealously controlled a monopoly in New Terra, establishing further colonies such as the Isla de Medio in the Prio Seas. Then in 595 the death of King Harln of Mardier resulted in a descent into a bitter civil war as rival factions fought for the throne. The Mardierian monopoly on New Terra was broken when the Viceroy of Terraversa sold berthing rights to the highest bidders, opening the way for other nations to explore the region. For over twenty years civil war continued to weaken the once great nation, however now it appears that King Alphonse has largely managed to unite many of the warring parties and subdue or subjugate the others. This came too late for the colony of the Isla de Medio (renamed the Isla de Victoria by Eslandola), though, as Mardier lost their jewel in the Prio Seas to Eslandola in the Eslandolan/Garvey war of 616-17, and the colony of Terraversa declaring independence in early 617. Mardier, while weakened, is far from weak. Much wealth still remains from almost century of unopposed dominance of New Terra, and the army is filled with soldiers with over twenty years experience of conflict, the best of which form the elite 'Death Guard' of King Alphonse. While to outsiders it would appear King's Island and the settlement of Calisto in the Azure Sea is Mardier's only remaining colony in New Terra, it is unknown for sure as the very existence of the Isla de Medio was only revealed in late 616. Mardierian Cities and Towns of note Londa Dortanis Mardierian Settlements in New Terra Calisto, King's Island, Prio Sea Solaro, Nova Londa, New Haven Sea Diplomatic Relations: Diplomatic relations are rated on a scale of 1-5 (1=Hostile, 2=Unfriendly, 3=Indifferent, 4=Friendly, 5=Very Friendly) Corrington: Indifferent Eslandola: Hostile Oleon: 4 Friendly Sea Rats: Unfriendly Garvey: Hostile Grand Duchy of Terraversa: Hostile Commonwealth of Terraversa: Hostile Prio: Hostile Alliances or pacts: None known, although rumours of a secret pact with Oleon are whispered across the Brick Seas... Defining Characteristics Each NPC nation has values for eight primary characteristics set by leadership for the purposes understanding the powers of NPC nations. These values are dynamic and may change periodically in response to events in the Brick Seas. Naval power: • • • • • • • • • • Once the dominant naval power in the Brick Seas, decades of civil war have eroded the ships and capabilities of the Mardierian Navy. The Mardierian Navy is mainly comprised of ageing capital ships and large frigates. Their shipbuilders tend to prioritise size and gun deck capacity over speed and manoeuvrability. Military power: • • • • • • • • • • Despite a shortage of manpower due to years of civil war, Mardier maintains a large army utilising a mixture of equipment, technology and tactics. Most of their soldiers are veterans of numerous campaigns. Military focus for now tends to be on the consolidation of Royal power although action in New Terra should not be ruled out. Scientific advancement: • • • • • • • • • • The civil war has all but stalled scientific advancement in Mardier across all fields except military. Political/diplomatic influence: • • • • • • • • • • Known colloquially as the ‘Old Empire’ Mardierian influence has always spread far and wide. Mardierian diplomacy tends to centre on the belief that Mardier is the premier nation of the Madrice Peninsular, and all other nations are inferior. Inner stability: • • • • • • • • • • While the civil war appears to have been concluded, King Alphonse’s rule is far from stable. Opposition within the nobility could reignite with little provocation. Other Mardierian colonies and territories may be encouraged to follow the example of Prio and Terraversa in declaring independence from Londa. Treasury/coffers: • • • • • • • • • • Although largely exhausted by 20 years of civil war, Mardierian coffers are starting to fill up with efforts by King Alphonse to consolidate his rule. Estates of Nobles who opposed the King are being sold to the highest bidders and money hidden away during the war is starting to re-appear. Exploration: • • • • • • • • • • Mardierian explorers discovered New Terra and charted much of the region before other nations were even present in the area. Mardierian knowledge of New Terra probably exceeds that of all other nations of the Madrice peninsular. Cultural advancement: • • • • • • • • • • Mardierian culture is the root culture for most of the nations of the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the North Eastern Madrice Peninsular and continues to be influential in the region. Known Mardierian Personalities and Organisations King Alphonse’s Death Guard, A unit of elite soldiers that are the personal guard of King Alphonse. Bumble Tuna Trading Company, A powerful trade company that once controlled the lucrative tuna fish market in the Prio Sea. Admiral Armentura Cadiz, A commander in the Royal Mardierian Navy, he oversaw the purge of Charlatan Bay in 617. [OL - FB] - The ugly Clock Tower
Ayrlego replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You see, what the form loving Oleonader spectators don't realise, is that it was build solid deliberately in an attempt to Hurricane proof it... as Spud said, function over form! Good to see some order being brought to Oleons settlements! Jokes aside it is actually an ok looking tower and I need to get me some of those clock faces! The expressions on the minifigs faces are perfect for the story! -
Name: Cacao Tree (Theobroma cacao) IC background: The Cacao tree is famous for producing Cocoa beans, which of course are in turn used to produce chocolate. The trees grow in abundance on the island of Cocovia in the Sea of Thieves and Corlander entrepreneurs refined the bitter tasting drink that the natives of that place made from the fermented beans into the sweet treat that is so famous across the Brick Seas today. OC background: Theobroma cacao, also called the cacao tree and the cocoa tree, is a small (4–8 m (13–26 ft) tall) evergreen tree in the family Malvaceae, native to the deep tropical regions of Central and South America. Its seeds, cocoa beans, are used to make cocoa mass, cocoa powder, confectionery, ganache and chocolate. (from Wikipedia) Builds in BoBS Cocoa Plantation, King's Harbour (Ayrlego)

[AMCRA - Puvel] Exploring Fiorentia (The Island of Flowers)

I'm with Elos here! That is a very beautiful looking beach and the assortment of flowers is stunning. Landing of Fiorentia was well worth the wait! [COR-FB] Tomahawk Makers Longhouse

[COR - OCT FB] ETTC Sepoys for Jameston
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks Mesabi! Thanks Prof, I've used the cannon before several times (I like to recycle!) here are some instructions if you haven't already seen them Yeah kind of what I was going for! Thanks Maxim! Yeah, as soon as I saw it I was like, oh I just ordered 15 dark tan pith helmets.... A warning though, It's way trickier than it looks. At first I tried using 1x1 round plates in-between each helmet. It looked ok but the finished trunk couldn't take any weight on top. It barely could hold itself up! With just the helmets connecting to each other it is a little better, but it is still probably the most fragile tree I have ever made. I had a much better leaf design, but the trunk just couldn't hold the weight up... Thanks Capt Wolf. The new ninjago sword is pretty cool - my son is very disappointed I haven't been able to find him one yet and that I wouldn't give this one up!! Thanks Bodi! Thank you Elos, the use of the tan was inspired by this build from Isaac Island Outpost by Isaac S. I need to spend a bit more time next time to do the scheme justice - this build was really rushed for the MRCA deadline! Thanks Lord B and yeah, things got a bit hectic there for a bit, I'm still catching up! Speaking of the Sepoys.... Allcock has heard rumours that in the Southern states of the Mokolei Empire elephants are used extensively in agriculture and construction. If your expedition is heading that way maybe he should write to you and request details... and maybe the arrangement of the shipment of a breeding pair for Jameston! Thanks BD! Yeah something a bit different is always nice! -
Great series Captain B! They are all very good although my all time favourite is the elite Eslandolan Guard - he always looks very impressive!
-
Pirate figures... I was expecting a pirate CMF series!!! Good title and a fun little build - although they sure make choosing between wheat and wool complicated!

[COR FB1 OCT] Cole family in Elizabethville
Ayrlego replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A charming story that I really enjoyed and a very nice build to go with! Great job. My favourite part of this build is the roof. I really like how you angled slope pieces to create the shingles. Hopefully the Coles will continue to have good fortune in their new life! -
[COR] The Allcock Trading Company Offices, Jameston
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks Spud! Yeah I ran out of 3048s and had to use a 3044 instead. I have another one coming in a BL order next week, so I will be able to replace it for the group shot whenever that happens! Thanks Kwatchi Thanks Mesabi. Brown probably would have worked well. Also would have solved the shortage I have in those pieces in light bley for another build I'm working on!! Thanks Capt Wolf. The inspiration for Jameston's style in a large part is Weelond. Actually I'm working on a more colourful and significantly larger (than my entry last year) Oktoberfest entry for Weelond this year that I'm totally jealous already that I can't place in Jameston!!!! (I've just used the colour Lavender for the first time to make the façade of one of the buildings in the scene!) I plan on both characters to be reoccurring, especially Campbell who is off to check up on the settlement of a certain rouge Corlander Count... ( @Mesabi!!) Well if I ever get to building it! As to the turbans, they are ETTC Sepoys. Their backstory is here: It went to the third page very quickly in this weeks rush of MRCA builds!- 7 replies

Before leaving on his expedition Colonel Dirk Allcock came to the realisation that after almost two very successful years in New Terra, he needed full time staff to manage his many and varied investments. Thus he hired a small staff and charged them with the construction of a suitable office in the dockside area of Jameston. His office manager is a man by the name of Samuel Woodruff, a very experienced accountant and book keeper from Belson. Leaving a major old world trading company for the colonies, Woodruff is at home anywhere he can compile neatly ordered lists then plan the growth of the numbers on those very lists. Not just a bookworm, he also has a keen sense of what constitutes a good and a bad investment. He is however, getting quite advanced in age. He plans to run Allcock's interests from Jameston. Thus a roaming manager was also required, someone not afraid to get their hands a little dirty travelling from one end of the brick seas to the other looking after the interests of the company. Somewhat unusually the man picked by Allcock for this job is actually a women. Little is known about Jessica Campbell. Able to comfortably blend into anything from a high society ball or a disreputable lowlife tavern, Campbell is not a women to take likely. Highly intelligent, proficient with blades and firearms, she has left a string of defeated enemies behind who under estimated her. The pair can be seen here exiting the office. Campbell is to leave Jameston shortly on a secret mission for Allcock. Woodruff has dispatches to go out on the next Corlander ship to depart the settlement. A small commerce for Jameston, this thread will double as a place I can list all the properties and ships licensed in my name in the EGS for my own reference. This is the first of hopefully a whole series of 20x20 modules that I am planning to try and add together to get a street scene of Jameston. My vision for Jameston at this stage is for a more colourful an vibrant settlement than the settlements I have previously worked on (Mooreton Bay being a lot of tans and Port Woodhouse being stucco or 'classic Lego pirate style')! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ships licensed The Lady Jacqueline - Class 4 The Alexander Keith - Class 6 Properties licensed (Only includes properties licensed to Allcock personally eg. not ETTC/RSNP/Settlement or Faction properties) The Captain's Daughter Tavern - Arlinsport - Small Artisan (+5DB) Lavender Patch and Apiary - Arlinsport - Small Plantation (+5DB) Cocoa Plantation - King's Harbour - Small Plantation (+5DB) Quarry and Brickworks - Mooreton Bay - Medium Factory (+11DB) The Corunna Tavern - Mooreton Bay - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Banana Plantation - Mooreton Bay - Small Plantation (+5DB) Matthew Sawkin's Residence - Mooreton Bay - Small Residence (+2DB) Fishmonger's Stall - Mooreton Bay - Small Commerce (+5DB) Abigail Park Barracks - Mooreton Bay - Medium Residence (+3DB) The Yellow Mermaid Tavern - Mooreton Bay - Small Artisan (+5DB) Militia Barracks - Mooreton Bay - Small Residence (+2DB) Salt Pork Factory - Mooreton Bay - Medium Factory (+11DB) Large Factory - Arlinsport - Large Factory (+16.5DB) Large Factory - Mooreton Bay - Large Factory (+16.5DB) Governor's Hall - Mooreton Bay - Small Residence (+2DB) Allcock Residence - Arlinsport - Small Residence (+2DB) Widow's Hattery - Stormhaven - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Rice Fields - Mooreton Bay - Small Plantation (+5DB) Department of Time Bell Tower - Mooreton Bay - Small Art and Culture (+5DB) Small Residence - Weelond - Small Residence (+2DB) Tavern - King's Port - Small Artisan (+5DB) Widow's Hattery, Mooreton Bay Branch - Mooreton Bay - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Crabber's Rock - Port Woodhouse - Small Commerce (+5DB) Small Residence - Jameston - Small Residence (+2DB) Tikal Temple - Myzectlan - Large Art and Culture (+40DB) Potter's Workshop - Port Woodhouse - Small Artisan (+5DB) Beer Garden - Trador - Small Artisan (+5DB) Bayonet Course - Port Woodhouse - Small Educational (+6DB) Sugar Plantation - Jameston - Small Plantation (+5DB) Allcock Trading Company Office - Jameston - Small Commerce (+5DB) Oktoberfest Street Festival - Weelond - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Tailor's Shop - Jameston - Small Artisan (+5DB) Barbershop - Jameston - Small Artisan (+5DB) Twin Palms Inn - Mesabi Landing - Medium Artisan (+10DB) The Lavender Inn - Jameston - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Small Wharf - Jameston - Small Commerce (+5DB) Chocolate Shop - Jameston - Medium Commerce (+10DB) Seafood Stall - Port Woodhouse - Small Commerce (+5DB) Fish Drying Plant - Jameston - Large Factory (+16.5DB) Blackwood's Lodgings - Port Woodhouse - Medium Residence (+3DB) Sugar Mill - Port Raleigh - Medium Factory (+11DB) Dockyard - Jameston - Large Commerce (+15DB) Lotii Residence - Port Raleigh - Medium Residence (+3DB) Sugar Press - Jameston - Medium Factory (+11DB) Wainwright - Jameston - Large Artisan (+15DB) Merrynight Inn - Jameston - Large Artisan (+15DB) Armoury - Spudkirk - Medium Artisan (+10DB) Total Income: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, just wow... you killed off the dark bishop!!! Like the others I did not see that coming! This is probably one of the most shocking developments around here at the moment.... and Mardier potentially in control of Charlatan Bay!! Very well done and a great series of builds to back up the excellent story. I look forward to the next instalment! -
