  1. Great building LM71, as I commented on the WIP, the diagonal doors are a real highlight for me. The way they change the shape of the building and the 'popped' roof give what is a relatively simple structure a very pleasing aesthetic. Also those wharves are great - I love that technique!
  2. Great entry Fraunces, what really makes this 'pop' for me is the use of the garden as the background. It seems to make the greens more lush and really ands a depth that promotes the jungle feel. Great statues and intriguing story.
  3. 3 July 618, Port Woodhouse, Garma's Key Kadeus Mordo, It has come to our attention that the WTC has announced the implementation of a 'harbour tax' for the use of WTC facilities in the settlement of Mesabi Landing. The office of the Colonial Government of the Paradise Isles would have you remember that it is the official policy of the Crown of Corrington that all Her Majesties ports in Terra Nova remain open to free and fair trade for all. While this office will not prevent a WTC 'harbour tax', we will clarify publicly that this is a fee levied by the WTC for the use of WTC facilities in the settlement. It is not an official tax for visiting the Crown settlement of Mesabi Landing. Should non-WTC owned commercial harbour facilities become available in Mesabi Landing in the future, then it should be understood that these facilities would be exempt from any attempt of taxation by the WTC. Furthermore, regardless of the ownership of any harbour facilities, Royal Naval vessels or vessels travelling on official Colonial business will not pay any tax levied by local administrative authorities in any Crown settlement. Any attempt to enforce local administrative fees on these vessels will be rejected. Commander Matthew Allcock, RN Acting-Colonial Governor, Paradise Isles. OOC: @Drunknok An interesting take on the harbour tax concept, I look forward to seeing how it plays out.
  4. Troop carrying capacity will be defined when the raiding rules are (re)released (which I believe we are aiming for before the next MRCA).
  5. Yes please, Alexport should have x5 levels of artisan etc Thanks!

  9. 9 July 618, Jameston Sir Edward Summeridge, I am authorised to pledge the initial purchase of bonds up to the value of 500DB in the Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery from the personal estate of Colonel Sir Dirk Allcock. Kind Regards, Samuel Woodruff Managing Director, Allcock Trading Company
  10. The first post has been updated with an index of entries. Please be sure to post your entry in this thread so we see it. Thanks!
  11. Neat little scene with nice rock work and integrated vegetation. Only thing is.... well you might want to change the colour of the ore when you get the results! After careful examination, it appears that James and Dr Anderson have been very, very successful; they have struck GOLD!
  12. You can use any troops you like story wise. Your Derr’s light infantry would be fine. There is no requirement to license troops though the EGS for this challenge or place them on Fatu Hiva. Your mercenary troop is for story purposes only. (Although you can always license them later if you want)
  13. A great expansion of the IF, her origins are still recognisable and the link to the BSB is visible as well. A nice blend of the features of the two vessels to create something unique. Best of luck on the voyage out and I look forward to sailing with her this next turn!
  14. I totally understand the desire to simply finish something like this - it was the same for me with my frigate. I rather like her lines, and her colour scheme is great - the black hull; while difficult to photograph, does really add to the scheme. A powerful looking ship. Great work!
  15. Awesome carrack Capt Wolf. Her shape is lovely and those tooth pieces are a real stand out feature that perfects the entire build. One of my favourite ships in quite a while. Well done!
  16. Meanwhile, back on the surface, the main body of the expedition had realised that they were running low on fresh water. Rashid, the guide hired to assist the expedition in making the overland journey to Morghun, told them of a nearby oasis from which they could resupply. So while the main body of the party investigated the ruins uncovered by the storm, Lieutenant Williams had been assigned a small party to find the oasis and bring back water to the main body. Guided by Rashid, finding the oasis had been easy. Now Lieutenant Williams watched Sergeant Doyle and his men fill barrels with precious fresh water from the oasis.
  17. A simple yet very original concept for a prospecting build that looks great - well done! After careful analysis of the mineral samples, it has been determined that once again 'Golden' Jack has not lived up to his moniker. This time he has struck a rich vein of iron; which although is a disappointment for Jack, will no doubt please some of the industrialists in Mesabi Landing.
  18. Great looking vessel LB. I like how you have included all the little details on the deck such as the greenery. Those roller doors as shade clothes are a real stand out. Great job!
  19. Great warehouse Drunknok! The interior is especially impressive given the size and shape with some good details.
  20. The Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery has acquired ownership of Heffrington's Inn, a popular inn in Port Woodhouse.
  21. It was a glorious day in Port Woodhouse and the citizens lined the streets to watch a company of veteran Royal Marines parade down the main street on there way to the docks. The company had been seconded to the newly formed Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery and was embarking a transport vessel for the short hop to Jameston, where the Society had set up its headquarters. Rumour had it that from there they would set out on an expedition into the uncharted waters of the east; hence the citizens waved and cheered them on, wishing them luck for the trials ahead. Meanwhile, newly appointed Vice President of Security for the RSND, Sterling Blackwood, looked on from the first floor balcony of Heffrington's Inn, a local establishment that caters mainly to the officers of the garrison. It offers quality food and beverages and has an open section on the first floor to take full advantage of the cool evening sea breeze. It was here that Blackwood reviewed the parade, accompanied by the military commander of the settlement, Commander Matthew Allcock and Corrington Army Major William Bradley; recently returned from Mesabi Landing. Blackwood would be accompanying the marines to Jameston. His correspondence with the RSND executive board had revealed that a headquarters building was ready there for there immediate use. The board had also written of the need to urgently acquire a reliable income stream. The Crown had provided an initial budget, but then had somewhat perversely stipulated that the Society would not accept donations from wealthy individuals. As chance would have it, old man Heffrington, who owned the inn in which Blackwood stood, was selling up and returning to Belson, having made his fortune in the colonies. Blackwood had managed on behalf of the Society to acquire ownership at a reasonable price. Thus the RSND had it's first commercial investment to fund exploration and discovery on behalf of Her Majesty. This build is to serve as the MOC requirement for raising troops for the RSND. A company will be raised in due course for an upcoming aMRCA. It will also be licensed as a medium artisan in Port Woodhouse, in the name of the Society. A full frontal view of the whole build is enclosed in the spoiler below. Thanks for viewing!
  22. Great little build. The statue of Hades is particularly good - very sinister! Great work!
  23. Wow, that was quick! Nice little scene BD, I like the leaves as the roof, it's difficult to arrange them to look right and you've done it well here! I like the details of the BBQ and cooking pot. Great entry and I look forward to following the story.
  24. If this is modest I'd hate to see their idea of a extravagant sized statue! Great story and nice statue - also thanks for linking to the previous story, I missed that one while I was away.
  25. Just lovely! When I saw the WIP shot I wondered why you were building oriental - now I know - great story! The use of the wheel arch piece for the bridge is clever and I like how you have included the path snaking out from the front of the building. It's shaping up to being a productive month for you - keep up the good work!
