  1. I asked the same question twice but never got an answer and thus didn't pledge the $450 that I managed to set aside. Instead of trying to build up hype he didn't post ANYTHING over the past 11 days. Not sure what to think of this. He seemed like a smart guy who knew what he was doing and what he came up with is exactly what I would like to buy. I really hope that he is secretly prepairing a better campaign for next year.
  2. I liked the white version better and I think the price is too high. Especially compared to the Mini Cooper.
  3. Same. Not going to watch the video.
  4. Those switches look really good for being 3D printed. Maybe he should post those pictures in the Kickstarted campaign so everyone can see that he knows what he is talking about, that he is actively working on the project and that this is more than just a few renders.
  5. Is it possible to add logos (BT, for example) to the studs similar to the LEGO logo? It would make your products look less like Mega Bloks or any of the chinese clones. A professional look and feel is quite important to me to be honest. Also, your track pieces would blend in more nicely. Do you have a plan b in case this Kickstarter campaign fails? I never backed anything on Kickstarter but I may end up investing up to $100.
  6. Using Technic, Gear 24 Tooth Crown (Old Style) in a train moc is not a good idea.
  7. Garbage. What were they thinking? Even the Toy Story train looked better than this one.
  8. A train station would be way too expensive for an ideas set.
  9. I got into it by buying someone's childhood collection off eBay.
  10. I can't link you to an official quote but I've been a member of the German 1000Steine forums for more than 15 years now and I read conversations on LUGNET as well as elsewhere. The general consensus is (this is also true for other toy lines) that trains don't sell as well as they used to because kids these days simply don't seem to be interested anymore. Hardly anyone liked the My Own Train sets back in the day and the Hobby Train, the now insanely expensive train shed, the Maersk and the HE only sold out after they were heavily marked down. I personally got my Hobby Train for 49€ and the Maersk for 59€.
  11. ... give up and spend your money elsewhere? Happened to me. I somehow ended up buying LGB track for the garden and lots of vintage Playmobil. Yeah, LEGO, I don't care about the friends and star wars sets, I can't stand angry birds and I really don't need any more police or fire stations. What I want is a proper steam engine with dark green cars that have real (NOT brick built and no cheap panels as windows!) LEGO train windows and doors in dark green. Surprise us and make a 3 wide train window. It can't be that hard nowadays. Whatever you do, don't complain that train sets don't sell well enough, if you don't even try to get the average Joe interested. Also, the PF remote and receiver need to be updated. The potential new receiver also needs to a lot smaller.
  12. I don't really remember, but most likely this picture: However, my first LEGO train was the Metro Liner that I got for christmas back in '91. I actually already had the yellow trainstation 4554 since about october of the same year. My first 9V speed regulator came with set 4564, which was released in 1994. Up until that time, I had to use a universal power supply to power my Metro Liner. One of those:
  13. Yes, please. I was thinking about building a 2nd 7760 as a PF loco and a 2x4 IR receiver was exactly what I was (still am) wishing for.
  14. When I ordered a bike fork a few years ago, the package went from the US to Uruguay (yes, seriously, Uruguay), then back to the US and after a few more weeks it finally arrived in Germany.
  15. Stupid video. I had seen it in my list of recommended videos quite a few times but you will never get any adsense money or activity of any kind on that video.
  16. If you can make it look like real LEGO track, then I'm sure you will be able to sell quite a few track pieces. I for one am interested in maybe 2 or 3 loops and a couple of switches.
  17. That new loco would be alot better, if it had real train doors. Why cripple the play value, when it's aimed at kids? Makes me appreciate the 60052 even more.
  18. Looks great. How's the traction with those BBB wheels?
  19. Why do you keep asking those questions instead of looking up the prices yourself?
  20. The windscreens that came with the 7938? There are 700 lots on Bricklink and they are dirt cheap: http://www.bricklink...3415&colorID=13 They are trying to trick people into thinking that they will get a lot of stuff for their money, when in fact there will be very little ABS in the box. According to Bricklink, the bike shop set 31026 weights 1.744 kg and contains 1008 pieces and 3 figures. That's a 69€ set officially. In order to be worth it, the CS would have to weight at least 4.2 kg and come with close to 2500 pieces. Highly unlikely, imo.
  21. Very, very underwhelming. Imo that's one of the weakest lineups since Town Jr. 170€ for the whole set is wishful thinking. What non-AFOL parent is going to spend that kind of money on a toy? Especially, since there are hardly any useful bricks in that huge set. Instead, it's all just panels and windscreens. The creator bike shop, beach hut, toy shop and all the others are much better value. They should have released the LEGO shop and truck as a separate set for no more than 50€.
  22. That may have been a bad idea. Have you heard of bricks and other pieces cracking for no obvious reason? Some say that this may be caused by handling LEGO with greasy fingers.
  23. That's a terrible design. It's just a few windscreens that are otherwise useless (less expensive to make, though) and very few other bits and pieces. No, I don't like it. This.
  24. As far as I know, the site was unavailable for weeks or even months now. To me it doesn't look as if it was comming back. If you need stickers, then look on eBay. Corgan_Wheel has some for trains, then there are a few custom ones and there's also someone selling reproduction stickers for older town sets but I forgot his name. I bought from corgan_wheel myself and the quality of his stickers is excellent.
