Love it. Very good job. There's only one thing I would try to change. According to Stefaneris' picture, it could use a little more detail on the sides. Maybe with only the tile or one plate and a tile between the modified bricks. The bricks are a bit pricy, but I think it would be worth it.

You can't control it. You just plug it in and that's it.
-
I was going to say the exact same thing. So... +1, I guess.

The station should be bigger and the wallpaper in your sig much smaller. It takes up more vertical screen space than most of the pictures you posted.

What I don't like about the SBrick is the lack of physical controls. I don't really like touch screens.

Good job.

That's the one thing that I really don't want to see on the shelves. We had the BNSF, the Maersk and the 60052 is just more of the same. I'm bored of those things.

No, it was you who ended the sentence right after the link. With a period, as Frank already pointed out. Here's a working link: http://users.erols.c...e/flextrack.htm

LEGO is a European company and Europeans bought LEGO when most of North America didn't.

Super Mega Steam Power Train Builder-- LEGO(R) IDEAS(tm)

It was on sale. Multiple times, actually. It sold out when TLC dropped the price from 99.99€ to 84.99€ and offered an additional 5% off for any purchase over 125€ to anyone with a VIP card and an additional free mini set at the same time. -

A dark green passenger car is something that I wanted for more than a decade and I think that this is something that is do-able, since it wouldn't require too many special parts. Only dark green Train windows and doors for the play value. Hopefully. The rest would be - more or less - just regular bricks and pieces that they have to produce anyway, which would make it more worthwhile to TLC. The problem with the EN approach of selling the Loco bundled with just one car was always that a train with just one car looked a bit silly and that bying more cars in that rare colour was way too expensive, since you had to buy the whole set several times or pay inflated prices on BL or eBay. And don't get me wrong, I really like your design. -

This may sound harsh. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but let's be realistic for a second. It's a nice moc, but it's also a pipedream. I don't think that any of the previous sets was more than 75€ when it hit the shelves. There probably isn't even any real incentive for them to pick a train as their next ideas set either, since they already struggle to sell the regular City trains and the Expert ones. Why make a 4th one, when there are a lot more good designs available that would appeal to a much wider audience? I'll say it again... We should be grateful, if we got a nice new Steam engine (without PF) for up to 100€ and an additional set with which you can build a passenger wagon as an A model or a freight wagon as a B model for no more than 50€ as the new Creator train "line". -
Was the same with the fire brigade. Don't get your hopes up.

Sold out in Germany, too.

She said something about "more efficient" but I doubt that something like a battery box for standard AAA batteries can be made to be more efficient. Less expensive to manufacture, maybe.
-
I just bought two HE, before it's too late and I was told that there will be a newer version of the battery box in 2015.

I'm amazed that none of those blue slope pieces shows any sign of yellowing. I ended up with three of those houses and all of them look terrible compared to your's.

Me neighter. That's why I said that I want it to look as nice as the modular buildings and with a slightly higher part count, so that they can include a platform. I'm not saying that I'm wishing for another $50 station. What I have in mind is a proper train station similar to the Parisian Restaurant but a bit bigger and with a platform that is at least 64 to 96 studs long. Like a bigger Metro Station with more detail. Sure 64 studs isn't much, but I'm sure we could easily extend it with parts from BL or PAB. The problem with the My Own Train sets was that the the design was utter shi.. ... I mean, not so good. Like Jack Stone and Town Junior, it was such a HUGE step back that it just didn't really appeal to anyone who already owned enough sets from the 80s and 90s. Most people who bought those sets back in the day used them for parts. At least over here in Germany, where we were used to seeing much nicer sets on the shelves. With the EN, Maersk and HE, they have proven that they are able to design much better looking sets than the My Own Train stuff. I'm not saying that they should go overboard, but they could at least test the waters with a nice looking engine and no more than 2 different cars as additional sets. Or maybe just one additional passenger car with a few extra parts and instructions for an alternative model like most creator sets seem to have. A passanger car like the middle cars of the 7740, 7745 or Metro Liner sets and an alternative model like the 7819 or 7820. All it would take would be two sets of extra doors, so not much ABS wasted. Make it dark green, tan, dark tan or brown and use proper train windows and doors and it will sell. Personally, I'd prefer dark green and would buy at least 5 to 10 sets. I didn't buy the Emerald Night, because I really didn't like the passenger car's brick built doors and the fact that they didn't sell passenger cars on their own.
-
It's a step in the right direction, but I still prefer the old Basic sets from the 80s. They had fewer colours, but that also meant that there were enough bricks and pieces of the same colour so that you could build something useful with whatever came in the box. Also, the selection of special pieces like doors, windows, slopes, trees, flowers and minifigs seems a bit more appealing to me.
-
That is absolutely spot on perfect. I didn't buy the Delorean and I did not (yet) buy the Ecto 1, but I'd love to get this as a set.
-
Redbeard and Blue Coats for me. I never liked the newer pirate sets as much as the original ones from 1989.
-
I wouldn't mind, if there was no new train next year. I'd rather see the HE on the shelfes for a bit longer. A new train station that looks at least as good as the modular buildings and uses about 2000 to 3500 parts would be more interesting to me. Ideally something old fashioned in dark red with white windows, black roof and dark tan window sills. Then in 2016, I'd like to see a proper german steam engine with a tender. Dark green passenger cars (with proper 4x3 train windows and doors!) and maybe even a freight car should be made available as separate sets, so we can buy as many as we want. Also, I'm kind of sick of all the diesel freight trains.

My parents live close to Zwickau and I would really like to check out some of your mocs. Unfortunately, I now live in the western part of Germany and don't get to visit my hometown often. Do you happen to have a few more detail shots of those steam engines and passenger cars? I'm interested in the dark red diesel, as well. I have to admit that I could use some advice on how to plan a moc like this. Also, are those BBB wheels or are they from the Toy Story train?
