That's right. I don't own the Palace Cinema. Always meant to pick it up but ended up missing out. I may have to get the parts off of Bricklink.

In Memoriam: Remembering Nexo Knights

More Friends sets. On a more serious note: Most likely the rumored Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter stuff. -
What really bugs me are the huge wheels that come with most of today's sets. Same.

Well, that and the fact that those cars looked horrible. I knew that they were available and kind of liked the Santa Fe itself but the only interesting bits that were used for the waggons, were the bases, wheels, bogey plates, buffers and the doors. To me, all the other bits looked like left over pieces that they didn't have any other use for. Also, they were all grey and thus looked somewhat boring. It generally also wasn't a very good time for LEGO as a company. If they were to market things properly and would put some effort into it, then I'm sure a new train would be worth it. It may not sell as well as the most popular Friends or Ninjago sets but it woudn't hurt their finances either.

In Memoriam: Remembering Nexo Knights

... said no one ever. I'm honestly surprised that the theme lasted this long. Huge dissapointment after hearing about that mysterious new Castle theme for weeks/months. -
Except for Episode 1 all of the Star Wars movies got a "FSK 12" rating here in Germany. That's why I never understood why TLG decided to market that IP to 5 year olds. A friend of mine almost wasn't allowed to enter the cinema when we wanted to watch the original Jurassic Park movie back in 1993. He was 11 at the time and the movie had a FSK 12 rating just like Star Wars. Did you hear about the Jurassic World themed Duplo set? Makes total sense. Also... those evil, evil boobies. The horror. The nightmares.

It's even harder for many of those who don't speak English as their first language. ;) That being said, I wouldn't want them to translate all the names for the different categories, bricks and pieces. Anyway, those tank cars really do look great. They blend in well with other official sets like that 60052. I too would have kept them.

I don't want to spam up your thread too much but I forgot to mention that the new motocross helmet would be perfect for this: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=35458&idColor=63#T=C&C=63

A BMX bike isn't really possible in minifig scale but you could use the new wheelchair to pay tribute to Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham. Would be really cool to see, actually.

From experience I can tell you that coping that sticks out is a real pain. Love the longboard and those transitions looks good, too. Coping:

Great video. Hey TLG, if you're lurking, skip to 1:35.

I'm the 500th supporter. I'm not getting my hopes up, though. Mainly wanted to show my support for a new Creator Expert train. This one is different enough to make it a viable option.

To me classic castle is the stuff from the 80s. Sets like the Black Falcon's Fortress, the Guarded Inn or the Forestmen's Hideout. I really didn't like any of the stuff from the mid 90s and onward.

Childhood Layouts! (Meanwhile, back in 1980-something...)

BS. It has more to offer than 7725. -
NFC tags are cheap and don't rely on optical sensors. Should be a more robust system, too.

MOD - 12 volt wheels with axle hole for Power Functions motor

That's something that I wanted to do years ago. Only problem was and still is the pricing of the Form 2. Even the Moai is quite expensive, still. -
Wouldn't be hard for them at all. All they'd have to do is make a blue battery box. Would make a great entry level set or affordable addition to the collection. Problem is, Friends and Elves sell better than the stuff that doesn't exist. I really do want to see another push along train. One that looks like 7735 or 4563 and can be motorized like the christmas train. Can't be that hard to pull off. Also, didn't someone claim that a friend of his was working on tooling for a new part similar to this one: Would sure be nice but I'm not going to hold my breath. Remember, we aren't the target audience. We don't matter.

Childhood Layouts! (Meanwhile, back in 1980-something...)

I wish I had pictures like those. As far as I know there's only one from christmas in 1991. Otherwise my parents didn't take many pictures since getting them developed was fairly expensive back then. At least to us it was. However, I too kept all of my boxes and instructions. I don't have quite as many as you do, though. My goal was to get all the train sets from 1980 up until 1991. I'm only missing 7710, as far as I remember. -
Must have been late 1991. Or printed in 1991 and published in early 1992. I own one of those flyers but it's in my parent's attic. 320 Km from where I live. Also, the Service flyer that you linked to is a different one. Those ony came in the larger LEGO sets. They weren't included with any of the catalogues that I picked up from our local toy stores. I don't remember seeing that motor on a LEGO Service stand/display/thing. They usually only had the smaller stuff like the sliding doors and the light bricks mixed in with all the other regular service bags. Maybe it was a bag that you could only order over the phone or when you sent them a letter. Maybe they didn't have enough stock to officially include it in those flyers.

We are aware. No one expected those new City sets to be on the same level as the Creator trains. The Cargo one actually does offer play value, but not including doors is a missed opportunity that doesn't make sense. They used them in 2017's 60154 so why not in those new sets as well? The passenger train on the other hand isn't any better than the previous ones. It would have been so easy. They could have re-used designs from sets 7740, 7745, 4558 and even 10194. Four doors, ten windows, a roof and some wheels. That would offer more play value than the leaked set 60197 and wouldn't have taken them much time to design. New colours. New roof. Done. As for the rails: That may have worked in the past. Nowadays people tend to look for deals on eBay or (worse) Amazon where they will find the cheaper Chinese options. That's a problem that TLG needs to address. Forcing your customers to buy a much more expensive pack with stuff they may not want doesn't seem to be an ideal solution to me. A better solution would be to just sell track pieces through PAB again. They did it in the past and could do it again. Doesn't waste shelf space and people could get exactly what they want. Should also be more cost efficient for both parties. In fact, it would be a great way for promoting their online shop. I too noticed that. So far I'm only observing and I don't really want any of that stuff in my own collection but it definitely is interesting to see. However, I really wish TLG would produce their stuff in Europe and the US only. Go ahead. I actually listen to our customers and do my best to improve the products that we're selling. Ealier this week, I got a written letter that states how much of a good job I've been doing for the past seven years. TLG almost went bankrupt back in 2004 because they didn't listen to us. We are the ones who promote their stuff. Most of us are adults who are buying LEGO as gifts not just for ourselves but also for our own or our friend's kids. Many of us are also the ones who said that 60051 didn't sell as well as it could have and we told them how they could try to fix the issues with that set. They're not listening. It's frustrating and yes, maybe it would be for the best if they would rethink their stategy and get someone else to design their trains. They did not just miss opportunities by not including doors and windows, they most likely also failed to integrate the new trains into the City line properly. Again. 60052 was a great set, btw. I'll address your rude warning as well as you abusing your mod powers elsewhere. How so? The passenger train offers nothing that 60051 didn't have and 60052 actually was a much better set. 60052's engine had actual doors (more play value) and the crane it came with was better than the little tower that seems to come with 60198. Also 60052's car made a lot more sense than 60198's getaway van. This. My first LEGO train was the Metroliner 4558 that I got for christmas in 1991. I loved seeing the minifigs through the windows as well as opening and closing the doors. Also, one day my dad came home from a business trip* and brought me a pack of straight 9V track, a pack of curved 9V track, a set of switches, a blue hopper and the 9V level crossing. I paid for some of it with my pocket money but even though he ended up just giving me the tracks as a gift I remember thinking that two packs of straight track would have been better. *I asked him to get me something for my Metroliner because most shops in East Germany did not yet carry LEGO this soon after the wall came down.

They aren't reading the forums. If they did, they would at the very least have used train doors and windows for those new trains. There's no reason not to use them. Especially since they used train doors for that new bus amongst other sets. Without them the passenger cars of set 60197 are nothing but boring boxes on wheels. Hey TLG, if you do happen to read this: FIRE THE GUY WHO DESIGNED THOSE SETS! Also, eBay is flooded with curved and flex track that no one wants. Would have been much better to offer that track pack with 16 straights and no more than 8 curves. Too obvious, I guess.

Terrible idea. They take a huge cut and are generally a super shady company and potentially the biggest threat to the world economy. Either them or China. Either way, no one who wants to keep his/her/a job should use Amazon. Ever. I wouldn't buy BT tracks off of them even if it saved me 75%. So what if Canada isn't the 51st state, it is still in America. There is no legal solution that wouldn't end up costing us more than just paying VAT and customs.

No idea. The quality of the Lepin sets is said to be pretty good. It surely can't be worse than ME track or that 3D printed crap. I wouldn't buy the older Ausini track (light blueish grey with the thin sleepers), though. It simply sticks out too much and I wasn't too impressed by the various Ausini reviews that I watched on YouTube. When my most recent order arrives, I'll have a total of 294 straight PF tracks in my collection. All legit LEGO. I was patient (and lucky) and paid an average of about 1€/piece shipped. However, Au$59 + shipping doesn't sound too bad. Regular prices over here in Germany are about the same. 2x straights may make the most sense, if producing them doesn't cost you much more than regular 1x ones. You could potentially save on tooling and your customers would (probably) get more track for their money. Not sure about 4x. If there's more potential for saving yourself and your customers money, then go for it. I have to be honest, though. Importing straight track will most likely turn out to be too expensive for me. Those would certainly be fun to play with.

PF? Not worth your time:

no train doors + no train windows = no play value I don't really like either of those. The freight one looks a tad better than the more recent yellow and red engines but it still isn't a "must have". If those are indeed real leaks, then I don't even want to see what else they may have planned. After buying the Winter Village train station I was secretly hoping that they would have finally upped their game.
