  1. I'm sure that there are quite a few german members who are willing to help you. Mein Englisch ist auch nicht perfekt, aber wenn Du dir unsicher bist und es nicht ganz dringend ist, dann schreibe ruhig mal eine PM. Nur bitte keine Romane zum übersetzen. English: I offered my help but warned him that I'm aware that my English isn't perfect either. English: No idea what you're trying to say. German: Keine Ahnung, was Du damit sagen willst. Du besitzt die Weiche, obwohl er sie für sich selbst gebaut hatte? Wenn ja, hätte ich geschrieben: "I own the crossover even though he built it for himself". Wobei es einfacher wäre einen Kauf auszudrücken: "I bought it off of him" = Ich kaufte sie ihm ab. Gute Arbeit bleibt gute Arbeit.
  2. Apologies, I guess. Still, Nuremberg really does look and sound wrong to a German. Very wrong.
  3. Nürnberg. It's a city in Bavaria, Germany. Just in case someone Googles "Nuremberg" and doesn't find anything.
  4. Seeing cut up 9V stuff always pains me a bit but I have to say that you did a really god job. I can't even tell where you cut the switches.
  5. Looking good. You've got some really nice stuff in your flickr account, too.
  6. He's been a member since 2010. You can't tell me he doesn't know how to look things up.
  7. LEGO's shop page, Bricklink and Google could have answered all of your questions within minutes. Guess that would have been too much work.
  8. You may have to use lots of those: Or just regular slope pieces. This is how I built my 8-wide 7745 (years ago): You can then use the following two curved slopes for the front: or Or use them for the whole thing: I'm sure that there are more advanced options, but this might be a good start.
  9. Yes, please. I've been waiting for more reviews and you're one of the few guys who can compare them to the older metal rails and plastic bits.
  10. I made an Ideas account just so that I could support this. I'd buy the white version in a heartbeat.
  11. Thanks for sharing those pictures. Already added to my "to do" list.
  12. The German shop is a mess. It's easily one of the worst online shopping experiences I've had in the past 15 years. It already seems to be some sort of a running gag (many are frustrated) over at the 1000Steine forums. It took me almost a year and more than 50 tries to get their system to accept my VIP card and even though I'm logged in, I get reconnected to the American shop all the time. Also, many complained that their orders get cancelled way too often. Whenever I want to buy something from them, I prefer to give them a call. What really disappointed me was that I didn't get any VIP points for my 2x Horizon Express and I didn't get the small freebie, either. Sorry about the rant but I thought I'd share my experiences.
  13. The regular 9V technic motor? It has a fixed axle and is slightly bulkier than the PF M motor. You would need an adapter cable, too.
  14. Time for a new Idea Book.
  15. Maybe you picked the wrong hobby, since LEGO buildings (as well as figures, cars and pretty much everything else TLC made over the past 50+ years) never were to scale. Never. Ever. It's a set with 2262 pieces officially (way less than the typical 10 cents/brick) and you're still complaining about the price. Want a cookie coupon?
  16. Nice one. I love the little Taxi and have a brand new one in an unopened box.
  17. Unlikely. However, it would be nice, if they could just flat out tell us whether or not there are plans for a new train this year. As it is, I'm holding onto my funds instead of buying the Detective's Office. It's not as if there's much competition to be afraid of, anyway.
  18. I did it with the 7745, the Metro Liner and the Club Car. All of those are now a few studs longer, which is why I didn't use the 6x28 plates in my builds.
  19. For international customers it would be better, if you offered your track pieces without sleepers. Just the rails and connector pieces. Your track would be less expensive and shipping costs would be lower as well. Also, please keep in mind that many of us have to pay VAT whenever we import stuff from overseas. That's up to about 20% of the total value (that includes the shipping cost in most cases!) and those from the UK often have to pay a handling fee on top of that. Us Germans usually don't have to pay a handling fee, but we have to pay an additionl 4.7% for anything that cost 150€ or more. Again, that includes shipping. That's why I think that shipping the essential parts only would make your product a lot more appealing to those on a somewhat tight budget, it would free up resources and by using real LEGO 2x8 plates as sleepers your track wouldn't look as much like a 3rd party product anymore. Also, I would like to ask you to consider making rail pieces (at least the curves) available in a color that matches old light grey and the connector pieces in a colour that matches the old dark grey. That way we could combine your track pieces with old 4.5V stuff.
  20. I really like the idea and I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures. So far, the Snackbar is my favourite. A few years ago, I tried to upgrade some of my old 12V and 9V trains to 8 wide and make a bigger version of the Metro Station. I know that what you're trying to do isn't easy.
  21. Don't expect too much. All we got for their last 50th anniversary was a boring box of bricks and this: Also, they can't expect trains to be a popular sub-theme, if they can't be arsed to offer a proper line up. I still think that this year's station is one of their worst train stations ever and there's not much else available. They could do much better.
  22. Just curious... how many track pieces do you guys own? As far as 9V stuff goes, I've got close to 250 straights, about 150 curves, two or three crossings and about 15 switches. Took me a few years to collect all of that stuff, but I have a feeling that proper model railroad track may be (a lot) more expensive.
  23. I don't see them replacing the whole PF system. Maybe it's just a change in the manufacturing process.
  24. What I wish for is a simple adapter that lets us use 9V block batteries whenever there is not enough space left for a full size battery box. I know that there was something like that on Kickstarter, but I would like something that looks a little more professional. Also, better lights and a smaller receiver (with just one channel, maybe) would be nice.
  25. Yes, it is. And those tan windows sure are expensive. Also, try better lighting when taking pictures. Your's turned out a bit blurry.
