Love those exterior elevators! Great scifi feel and the confluence of angles where the bridge/roadway/tram meet is well done. Great micro that wouldn't feel out of place in any scifi movie.

[SoNE Ep. XI Farmland Triangulation
Kodan Black replied to Commander Beltar's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I like the farm with the trench and retaining wall and the moisture collectors. Very well done. Given how many of our builds feature interrogation, apparently the Empire loves interrogation!- 11 replies

Wow, what a build. So much to it and such great terrain at the bottom. You built a stunning MOC and great story too.

Fantastic as ever, the rocky cliff with the vegetation...the spy up top. The angled platform though really just steals the show. So well done.

Great speeders and I'm jealous of your minifig variety! I love the bustling, cramped market. -

I didn't want to use any of my Rebel pilots or anything obvious, I wanted to make him someone trying to blend in more.

One of the most frequently visited and photographed places on Farmolis is the main park downtown. It is mostly known as "The Park", but the official name is Octan's Spirit of Exploration Park. The park itself is lovely and the grounds meticulously maintained, but the attraction most people come for is Goldie. At least that is what the locals call him, he is an embodiment of Octan's vision to explore the universe and with his stern expression is ever looking forward. His spear points to where he is going, with his shield ever at the ready. The beautifully polished black lava rock provides a stark contrast to the gold. Below the base are windows into the water that provides life for the flowers that give a natural version of Octan's colors. Lit up at night it is visible from quite a ways off. The soothing sounds of nature surrounding Goldie provide for a nice environment to contemplate Octan's mission. Some have complained that the status is ostentatious and not a good representation of Octan's values, but I prefer to think of it as a shining beacon drawing ever more explorers forth to wonder what is out there. Our winged champion is on constant vigil for what is next.

Given the large scope of the Empire's operation we were all pulling duties we might not be usually assigned to. I had been sent to interrogate a captured Rebel. I figured that since I wasn't a trained interrogation specialist that this would not be a high value target. Since I wouldn't be dealing with a Rebel that would have likely been trained in interrogation resistance techniques I decided that bluffing would likely be my best choice. I entered the holding room and didn't address the Rebel at all. I set about powering up the interrogation droid and busying myself with looking like I was getting things ready when I really was just doing nothing. I never directly looked at the Rebel but I could sense his growing apprehension. Finally I finished with my "preparations" and got the droid positioned right in from of the Rebel. It was at this point that the Rebel tried to put on false bravado and defiantly said: "Do you really expect me to talk?" I calmly replied: "No Rebel scum, I expect you to die." The mask of arrogance was quickly changed into a sense of panic. "But ... but you haven't even interrogated me!" "Correct. We know that you have little of value to offer us as far as information. But you do have value. You see, this droid here will make sure that your screams are heard in the nearby cells. And then THOSE Rebels will be far more willing to offer up their information. See, you can be helpful!" I wasn't even sure if there were any Rebels in nearby cells. Or how well sound would travel for that matter. But it worked anyway. The Rebel started telling me everything he knew without me even asking.

All of that lovely money to the Bobster please.

I like the little hints of purple for the awesomnium in the build. The drill is simply fantastic. Great blend of scifi and recognizable current tech. Octan sure has some fantastic stuff.

Crossover builds are the best! Nice outside build, looks appropriately alien while still familiar. The interior build is good also, I'm jealous of some of your control pieces. Love the humor in the story this week.

Using the cannons as engines is really inspired. Gives a really awesome scifi feel with the angles from them. I also like the detail of whatever the little white piece is on the Octan ship that connects the two outer flaps (sorry, no idea what the part is, never seen it). I like how different the ships are while still looking like they might be in the same racing series. The photos look really good this week too.

Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // After touring some of the facilities on Forring we decided to look at some of the Farr-tes operations on Donwarr. I had to make a quick stop off at the Axle to deliver some executive reports and thus took my own shuttle to the planet. It was one of the speedy courier shuttles which didn't have a lot of luxury but was very fast and agile. Though my ship wasn't armed it was good having ED-208 along since it is a Mantis held planet and they seem to be on less than friendly terms with us at the moment. He seems to have warmed to Mike, the Professor, and Dr. Etienne. Dr. Allison has really been enjoying discussing ideas and technology with them. She seems to have a renewed zeal! They are going to take us on a tour of one of their underground scientific research facilities which is very exciting! Extra Pics: Our hover van transport: The business end:

Love the train but my favorite part is how the aliens aren't the typical minifig scale. At first I wasn't sure if it was a forced perspective thing, but this is so much better. The little ships and trucks are creative and nicely use only a few parts each.

I like those air handler looking things in back. Gonna have to give something similar a try.

On Farmolis my home is the Octan Science Facility and Dormitories. It was designed to resemble the rockets of early manned space flights. At the base of the tower is a lovely pond with various local flora and fauna creating a very peaceful mood while also being a reminder of our scientific purpose. The building itself is massive and we have a lovely park surrounding us. There are 4 buildings around the facility that house restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. It allows us to get away from work without having to go very far. Which has come in handy many times when you suddenly have a thought and don't want to lose it! As an executive I've been assigned a housing berth in the upper red zone. It affords a fantastic view of the surrounding area and the park and grounds below are nicely lit up at night. I enjoy taking walks around the base of the facility and listening to the Growler Frogs and gazing at the Dragonfish in the pond. It is an incredible luxury to be stationed in such a cutting edge building while still having an opportunity to wander into the park below for some quiet solitude to do some contemplation.

Does category B have to be buildings or could it be anything within a city?

That was one of the things I was trying to do was have smooth on the topside and more "under the cowl" type below. The wings were a huge pain though because they can't support the weight of the fighter and it would be impossible to balance the fighter on just the two points for pics anyway. I tend to not think ahead to taking pics and just make stuff.

I like the sharktipus! The speeder reminds me of a motorcycle with sidecar. Cool looking base and I'm glad you didn't go nuts making it a sprawling complex. Looks very appropriate.

It is a nicely put together story. It is a bit out of context how they are torturing someone and the one guard looks like he is an extra on a movie that can't contain his excitement at being near his movie hero.
