  1. Location: H04 Crofter's Ridge Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // The Major came to see me and said that my expertise was needed for a very important mission that he and his team were undertaking. I asked him what I could help with and he said that they needed me to go with them to a lab on Crofter's Ridge. I wasn't sure which lab he was referring to and he said it "wasn't one you have heard of." I explained that I was a senior executive and one of the top scientists, so I knew about all the labs and he just said "not this one." I was a bit nervous at this, particularly knowing The Major's line of work, but he told me that good leaders "lead from the front, not behind a desk!" I certainly want to be a good leader! As we boarded the shuttle to head down to the planet's surface I couldn't help but notice that all the other team members wore heavy armor and had plenty of weapons. I asked The Major about my own armor and weaponry and he replied that we didn't know what sort of situation we were heading into and that it would be safer for me if whatever was down there thought of me as a civilian instead of a warrior. It did sort of make sense so I agreed. Once on planet we went down an elevator with The Major's team armed and ready to roll and with me driving a small utility vehicle with tools. Once we reached the floor The Major's team went about securing the area. Which proved unnecessary since there was nothing there. Apparently we were in a kind of outer zone and one of the warriors named Cheyenne (though everyone called her Cyborg) worked at bypassing the security systems to permit us entry to the inner area. I'm not quite sure what happened to her that caused her to have the cybernetic implants, but she clearly wasn't comfortable talking about it. Even after I had asked her and she said it was from "a faraway place she would never go back to." And when I asked her where and why not she just shook her head and stayed quiet. I have to admit it was a bit creepy being in there. There was no real sign of anyone having been there and it was not very well lit. It was eerily quiet, and though the filtration system in my helmet prevented me from smelling anything, the readout showed the air was abnormally clean. I could sense a tension among the soldiers, though The Major did his utmost to hide it. I wanted to point out again that I was an executive now and that it seemed like maybe not ideal to have me along, but I knew it was too late for that argument. They needed my scientific expertise to investigate a lab that was so top secret even I didn't know about it. Extra Pics:
  2. Wow, this is superb. The back wall has a great blend of smoothness and detailing. The main gyrocube with the legs and everything really does a great job of dominating the scene. The control booth and the steps are both so simple, clean, and wonderfully effective.
  3. I like the insignia on the wall, looks like there is quite the story to tell here!
  4. The front end is great and love the color scheme. That door mechanism is very clever too. I wasn't expecting a full interior, but you executed it very well. Compact but fully functional!
  5. Other 2 were female boxer and babysitter, both ones I didn't have! About the only one I'd be after is the hiker, but if I don't find him no biggie, got the ones I most wanted!
  6. Hit my TRU while out today and got their last 3. I know 1 was the Queen who I wanted, not sure on the other 2. I'm hoping for dog show judge or hiker since I didn't get them yet.
  7. Oh he is about to go on an adventure...
  8. Location: H06 Farmolis Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // The Major expanded our training this week to include firearms. We went to a gun range and there were a large variety of weapons to practice with. The Major was there and he had 2 other instructors this time. I liked this better because unlike with the hand weapons training no one was trying to attack me. Dr. Allison seemed to want to spend most of her time getting to know one of the instructors instead of firing for some reason. I, however, enjoyed my time shooting! I know that as a man of science my place is in the lab, but boy is there a thrill being able to fire those weapons! Even with the Major up above me yelling stuff I had a great time. He kept telling me that your weapon is your best friend out in the field. That with "one in the chamber I'm always a threat!" Once more he was yelling from a vehicle, a small personal land walker this time. I think he might be hard of hearing actually and that is why he is always yelling. The combat shotgun was easily my favorite. It was pretty heavy and had a big kick, but boy was it enjoyable sending fire downrange. I know I'll never be spec ops, but it is nice getting out of the lab sometimes and being able to just have some fun. The one guy even offered to help me better blend in. Though it seemed like he mostly just stood in the corner with his goggles on. Extra Pics: More pics: https://www.flickr.c...2136@N04/Mn8DMT
  9. Wow, that looks fantastic all around. Good choice on such a striking color scheme also!
  10. Tempted to stop by TRU again on my way home and pick up a few more...
  11. So I don't forget, Bob check the PM for fleet movement. Thanks!
  12. I like the snowmobile but that lab is what really stands out. You fit a lot into a small area! I love all the scientific equipment and the thought put into it. I also enjoyed your usage of the old baseplate but then you made it your own by creating a new landscape on top of it! Very clever.
  13. Hey Bob, can we get Prof Thaum book of Dom too please?
  14. All my monies to Bob!
  15. Managed to grab 15 packs from TRU: 1 Secret Agent 2 Devil boy 2 Pirate 1 Penguin 1 Banana 1 Wildlife Photographer 2 Mariachi 1 Spooky Boy 1 Ranger 1 Arabian Warrior 2 Cyborg Wish I had gotten dog show guy and/or Ice Queen instead of pirates and devil boys, but at least I got the bulk of the ones I wanted. Lady at TRU did say they only got the 1 box. Oh and the detailing on the Mariachi is great.
  16. Ohhh, nice diesel generator. Are they mechanically linked to the shaft or just generate electricity and then motors drive the shaft?
  17. I really like the look of this minifig. I know I'll never see it since I'm not going to SDCC and also won't pay the crazy prices for it, but that is a cool looking figure.
  18. I wanted it to be a kinda ancient dojo type vibe and for some reason that meant cats to me. Plus, I have a bunch of cats I've never gotten to use before. The skunk was a slight easter egg -- it is referenced in the story as the "big smelly one".
  19. I like the HR building. I'm also impressed you draw stuff out instead of just winging it each week like I do. I'm enjoying the storyline and always great to see Kevin. For whatever reason I love his appearances, but I always forget about him. Just like I now remember we haven't seen Hombre in a while.
  20. Nice truck, has a very Russian overbuilt sort of vibe. You may want to throw in a fill light or 2 for the pics, it helps reduce shadows and makes more visible.
  21. Great ship, reminds me of a space truck. Nice to see pombe is still au natural, glad that the mantle of leadership hasn't dimmed his personality!
  22. Wow, glad I checked this thread. Guess I'll have to stop by TRU on my way home tomorrow night now!
  23. I think I'm in, I'll have to read it again to make sure I understand.
  24. Yes, you really can build for almost any corp from another corp: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137579 Bob is an Octan player but just built a lovely Kawashita build. Admittedly building for a corp with your own colors is likely easiest, but creativity can solve problems.
  25. That mech looks properly pissed off! I figured having seen the completed mech on Flickr that the hangar pics would combine up. Love that hangar, a fantastic combination of clean lines and detailing. The mech is so well built with the large smooth sections over the exposed bits with the ribs and the like. The color scheme makes me think of an Iron Man suit like the Hulkbuster.
