  1. No, I like it as it is. I was thinking of it as an endless knot but its nice to know its actual name.
  2. Yes its too large. The size needed for the boom arm plus I was thinking of some oxen pulling it, would take up most of my battlefield! I'm going to go bake some iced buns while I think about this. I really like that infinity knot. Clean simple, a little bit celtic, a little bit viking.
  3. I love the modular interior build! I really like the second build, the sense of height that it has and the detail on the black roof.
  4. I did my sorting last night, so now I can get back to building my trebuchet. I was working from this video of Warwick castles working trebuchet. I like visiting that castle whenever I'm over with family. But its looking like to do it justice its too big for the MOC, I shall have to see if any smaller still works or else change to a catapault instead. However, I still have my "specials" box to sort. All the little things that normally go into other boxes and aren't sorted by colour or type (window, animal etc). I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.
  5. I started the herulean effort of cleaning off my desk. It always takes twice as long to clean up and sort as it does to build. And by the time I've spent mad hours building something I'm all lego'ed out - and so are my family! But today I decided to try separating a few minifigures from their keychains. I have one that I want to use in the upcoming challenge (or free build if I don't get the hours to complete it) and tried the method of using a soldiering iron. It worked fabulously! Now I'm addicted and need to hunt out the bag of anubis guards I bought on sale at Legoland one time and of which one died in a previous attempt to separate due to the shape of the earred helmet.
  6. I love that border, very inspiring!
  7. Yes, thats an enormous scene! They just keep getting bigger and better.
  8. Oh that takes me back. It looks great! Hope to see a video of it working in the future.
  9. I went to local Lego b&m today with my box and explained the circumstances, they were really nice. I shop there regularly. I asked if they had an ex display model they'll sell me. Their dinosaur was missing pieces but they fixed me up with customer service. A++ for service in store.
  10. Thank you! Goodness. I remember reading the review on the figures but not the distribution part. How bazaar but now I understand why I had a hard time finding extra plumbers also.
  11. This was exactly my thought too! With all these male wigs, now I need a 17th century female aristocrat, full court dress, with a wig piled high.
  12. Has there been a change in the figure distribution in this series? I have had the chance to hunt through two seperate brand newly opened boxes of figures, one at TRU - opened by me, the other at the lego store opened by an employee in front of me. I searched for figures with skirts. In both of them there were only two fortune tellers, two elf maidens and two actresses. I'm normally very good at finding figures, I find it unlikely I'ld get the same box distribution at two different places, especially 2:2:2 when I expected 3:3:3. One box I had time to recheck and didnt find any more skirted figures the second time around.
  13. Wow, I always consider Lego Shop boxes sancrosanct. If I want something I know will be perfect I go there vs the big chain stores I use for their sales. How disappointing all round to know nowhere is safe.
  14. Yes they were rearranging their shelves and it was going to clearance. I am going to see if I can exchange it at another Walmart and if not will return it. This was the first time I have heard about them charging. I wondered if it was because it was such an expensive piece and maybe that effected their policy.
  15. I bought a Dino set today from Walmart, the last one they had. Upon checking it at home, its missing the dinosaur! I phoned up customer service and was told that because the set is discontinued I would have to buy the dinosaur. As I'm sure we all do, I buy many many sets and this is the first I've heard about charging for missing pieces. They told me the dinosaur was 34 dollars, so this set is going back to Walmart, right after I talk to my local Lego b&m store. Have any of you encountered this before?
  16. Congrats! I look forward to seeing lots of maiming, bloodshed and humiliation
  17. It means nothing ;) As a girl and when a kid, I know I would have put the blue pirate on the ground too! Thumbs up for letting her play with your older sets.
  18. One point to each: Brickington Dr Spock Purpearljellyblob Skalldyr Zcerberus
  19. The link for Ducks second picture goes to Dr Spocks Lost at Sea currently. (and I'll be back to vote after I've finished reading them all!)
  20. No definitely a faithful representation of red coats! Two even acknowledged they were there! Thanks to the Avatar Authorisation Thread, from top to bottom Redcoat Avatars included: The Flag - Capt. Stabbin Sushi #1 with the Davy Jones beard - MstrOfPppts Sushi #2 with the crab head - Skalldyr The Samurai - Kurigan Blue officer coat in the rigging - Scorpiox Asleep in the rowboat - Blackar Redcoat with monkey - Mr Spielbrick The Drunkard - Purpearljellyblob At the Helm - Commander Red Hat of course
  21. Great comic and layout. Though do you really want to be reminded of the redcoats all the time seeing their dismember parts everywhere? 'Though I heartily agree with of the use of the torso!
  22. Great comic and editting! Although I think the witch's curse was wasted, most of the redcoats are already strange creatures.
  23. Cara: Redcoats, Fear my Brush! Round I entry available here.
  24. Blocky and retro and not in a good way. I couldnt get enough of the beauty of previous sets like the Mill Village Raid, the Blacksmith, any of the dragon knights. These, aside from some minifigures for use in MOC'ing, are really unattractive to me.
  25. Bluecoats are nothing if not ingenious!
