  1. I think some people are unawaringly getting into the missing parts section thinking they are in the buy, i've seen this on this very forum several times. I don't know what the missing pieces part looks like from the inside as i never used it, but i suppose the prices wouldn't be listed there.
  2. Are some of the parts you ordered the same as those you were picky about before? Are you 100% sure you didn't accidentally go in the missing parts section? The green buttons are changed around since they opened again. Not that i would know anything, but perhaps there's just a tiny bit more information to go by.
  3. Not sure if this is really appropriate to post here, but I thought there'd be a lot of GB fans here who might like to know there's a neat t-shirt featured today on teefury. It's not that often I see GB geek junk.
  4. Yes, but your criteria for what is considered a bad part may have been more tolerant. It's nice to hear an official reply. I had a feeling those bricks weren't headed anywhere nice solely by the look of that container, luckily I don't live in a "what if" bubble.
  5. Some countries just don't have a trademark stereotype, or none that are known well enough to be widely recognised. I couldn't tell you what Croatia is famous for. We like to think Tesla was our man, Serbia likes to think he's theirs, and i think he'd tell us both to piss off if he was alive. There's a minifig in the winter village market set with a berrette and red bandana that looks very french, especially if you give him a baguette and wine bottle.
  6. I find the pab interface much more confusing of the two, the categories are all named in a way to help laymen understand them, but that makes it harder to find pieces quickly if you are used to a more advanced system with element id's I assume most afols have a wanted list on bricklink which is easy to use as reference for finding pieces on b&p except you have to know both color name languages.
  7. That snot brick was one I was hoping to get too, among other, but I think it's just a matter of time, I think these bricks will be added soon, it's not a matter of protection. Most of the interesting stuff from 2016 sets is missing.
  8. I had the checkout problem the last time so i took a screengrab of everything in the basket before confirming and rightly so, as it skipped to frontpage. The second time i just copied the design id's and quantities to speed up the process. Went through 2nd try after logout, close browser, login.
  9. I was looking forward to 1x6 and 1x3 bricks in sand green, but no such luck. Most of the newer printed goodies aren't listed, like the sushi and chocolate tiles or the latest newspaper, and what the hell is up with those red apples? Why are red apples 3x the price of green apples?
  10. Penguin enthusiast I like how we are now getting animals and accessories complimented by minifigures instead of the other way around.
  11. Thanks, I meant PAB, not B&P, It's 6 eur under the threshold for sets, Because PAB orders ship from Billund and sets ship from the closest warehouse, I thought shipping rates might be different. Don't think I can find 50 pounds worth of useful bricks in the current pab selection.
  12. Does anyone know what the shipping costs are for Pick A Brick online? (Europe) I know B&P are super cheap, but I might use PAB for some more common things, but if the shipping cost eats up the difference in price, I'll just wait for B&P
  13. It is normal, yes, but different countries have different rules and enforcement leniency. There is a threshold for imported goods, usually around €20 (including shipping) for goods received by post. The threshold may be higher for goods imported physically (eg. taken with you on a plane) If you exceed this value; 1. You are charged VAT in whatever percentage your country has 2. Import tax which depends on the type of goods. Eg. toys may be subject to higher tax than electronics, usually clothes and jewelry have the highest percentage, and electronics are exempt. 3. Additional import fees / administration. usually a set amount regardless of value or type of goods. If you used a courier service like DHL they might charge you their own fees for processing "import services" for you, on which you then pay all those taxes as well. Their service isn't optional which is why I avoid DHL and UPS like the plague. Having the invoice say it's a gift doesn't really work, or I haven't noticed it to have any effect where I live, and giving the wrong amount or forging the invoice is more likely to get you into trouble than out of it because they check. (maybe they wouldn't find their way around bricklink though)
  14. It has to be a minifig sized head, the main appeal of the baby is that I can change out the head for this one.
  15. There is a pdf by Lego designer Jaimie Berard explaining legal and ilegal connections, many of which are due to tolerances, but i am on mobile now, so hopefully someone else can dig up the link. Mind, most are system parts though. Edit: https://www.google.hr/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://bramlambrecht.com/tmp/jamieberard-brickstress-bf06.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwi2seKascfKAhXD6CwKHQgdDEIQFggcMAA&usg=AFQjCNEjbfabBWTPoV_6G17FvvN4Rw5P9Q&sig2=hrMSdRgfIY3TQnJhaWtloA
  16. I am always in favor of new animal molds, but not really sure what i'd do with a penguin except put it in a zoo. I'd much rather we get some birds, like the little ones in one of Alexandres concept drawings of a shepherd.
  17. Why would you have to use the minidolls if you have the set? I just take their hairpieces and use normal minifigures. Minidolls go into a box.
  18. That Christmas set looks like there could be more to it than meets the eye. Rotating music box? there is definitely something in that base.
  19. I got the red slopes quite recently. just before they shut down for the holidays. The price wasn't fantastic, but it was about half what they go for on bricklink.
  20. Thanks. @redtrooper27: sorry, I didn't see your post earlier. I do have more photos of the taxi. Has anyone done the Grocer in Dark Red yet? since the groove bricks are now available in that color. Seems like Minecraft sets are responsible for most bricks with groove, unfortunately no sand green for 2016 as far as I can see.
  21. I just checked my seagulls, and they have LEGO on the outside of the antistud and part number and design id on the inside.
  22. I suppose Mexican mariachis use classic/spanish guitars, not acoustic, but the difference probably won't be noticeable in lego form. Hopefully it won't have any funny printing, that would ruin it.
  23. I wouldn't rock the boat at this point, but certainly wouldn't do it again. The system might be so loaded now that they don't take too much time evaluating every case. (not just due to holidays, but i suspect there are lot's of missing parts and quality issues lately) I realized there were more cases where people were doing this and seemingly unaware of why it might be wrong. I don't do that even when I really have something broken, I'd rather bricklink a couple cents of parts myself than be suspected of fraud.
  24. Ha. So the hint was right earlier, you said no mariachi when i asked. :) Now i am just hoping it isn't some nexomariachi with another 80's electric style guitar. With a plain acoustic guitar, all my prayers would be answered.
  25. The ser.10 seagull was available from BAM tubs in LEGO stores for a limited time at the beginning of last year which means it could probably be bought in bulk if you were resourceful enough, especially in China. I realize I strayed off topic, but just in case you were worried about that particular piece. I know TLG had an issue about embossing the mark on 1x1 round plates with hole in the middle which were apparently limited for board games because of this, but are now available in regular sets even though they don't have the mark. TLG has lightened their inside rules for a lot of things.
