Has anyone spotted sand green anywhere in Europe? I had some fun this summer road tripping through different LEGO stores. I found the Bordeaux store in France had the best PAB wall. I wasn't able to find a real store in Spain or Portugal, is LEGO not popular in the south?

Yes, just a double jumper tile, but we are still getting 2x3 tiles, just not in that color as far as I 've seen. So far in black, yellow and medium blue/ or bright light blue - hard to tell from photos.

I think many people are put off by the garish colors which are falsely represented in those photos. I don't know who or why always cranks up the contrast in some official photos. That middle building is supposed to be sand green and it looks bright green in the picture. The tower is dark blue which in reality is a very deep color, but again looks so bright here. Sand blue looks almost like medium azure.

I love the colors, the building techniques, the new parts especially. The size... well I got used to them being slightly smaller. You can buy two if you wish. I don't know who works on the design team, but the last couple of buildings all had certain styles which couldn't have been done by someone who hasn't studied a bit od Art Deco, Noveau and is good with classic movies and has traveled a bit. Great work Berard and team!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sven F replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Cool! Wish i've seen those photos before i ordered some of those rare parts off brickink, like that sand blue grill brick and certain torzos. Yay for curved and wedge tiles! Must be set in 2007, that lady is carrying a special box -
Staff views on knock-off discussion and promotion
Sven F replied to Sven F's topic in Forum Information and Help
I didn't want to participate in the last discussion because there was severe lack of distinction between off brand and copy, between raising awareness and advertising, Very low to no understanding about what costs and work goes into developing a product and I don't know if this is due to a lax education system in some countries or under age members with false profiles. There were of course good points on both sides, and a discussion on moral and legal issues about patents, copyrights and trademarks would surely still be ok in the community forum. It's an interesting topic and I am sure more knowledgeable members would contribute if it wasn't a front for an underground marketplace. -
Staff views on knock-off discussion and promotion
Sven F replied to Sven F's topic in Forum Information and Help
I am happy that Eurobricks will continue to support a healthy fan base for everything LEGO. I realize that this decision was probably already in the making when I asked. Still, couldn't have gotten a better response. -
I would be interested to know how LEGO ambassadors or forum staff who have a close relationship with both The LEGO company and this forum view the long going trend of discussing, sharing links, pictures, prices and other promotional information about knock-off kwazi-brands under the tired pretence of "we are raising awareness" I don't understand why any fan community would work against its own interests. It's like beating your wife every night and saying how much you love her. Either you like LEGO and support the company or you are a parasite who exploits the end product and moves on to whatever is cheaper or more convenient regardless of how this influences your topic of interest, which if i'm not mistaken is supposedly LEGO. If this is a LEGO fan community forum, why do we support activity which goes against the interests of the company that manufactures the product we all love? Thank you.

There a couple of different people selling plug & play kits for this, I think one is called LifeLites. But if you know a thing or two about LEDs and resistors and can solder yourself, you can get cheap SMD leds from china tiny enough to fit into almost any brick.

Maybe it has something to do with most L€pin fans being about 14

I don't remember an Ideas set getting so much positive reaction before. Didn't think it would make it, but I am glad it did. Looking forward to all those nice tones, especially sand green. Will probably need an extra set for parts.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sven F replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The "modular" nature of these buildings wouldn't really work on a 48x48 baseplate, that would really mess with a lot of people's setups, but something that stretches over two 32x32 plates might. -
Finding common colours for a list of parts
Sven F replied to Legotom's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am in need of this for the exact same reason.... i keep thinking I found the perfect color for a car with all the parts available only to discover 1x2 jumper plates were never made in dark green If you come up with an easy solution, please share. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

GBHQ is 3000 Kroner, so I guess something of that volume could be expected, I just hope it's not another "Town plan" revival set with lots of mediocre stuff in one. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sven F replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Sounds promising. this could be a couple of full size buildings in a single set. That RRP is in what? USD? -
I just built this today, and as a vw beetle and bus owner and mechanic in real life I have to say the design of the bug is very accurate for the limitations. The way the side doors curve to the back, how the front mudguards start off thicker from the inside, the engine compared to the one in the campervan makes much more sense (white fan shroud, really?). It makes me wonder if the designer owned it or just studied it very well. I find all the glass stickers unnecessary, I didn't apply any of the blue transparent pillar sticks. The assortment of parts in dark azure is unusual for just a single set to be allowed so many new recolors. I might get another set just for parts to build some minifig scale vehicles with all those slopes. What i would have liked though is hubcaps in flat or pearl silver. Thanks for the review

The LEGO Group takes civil actions against LEPIN
Sven F replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As someone mentioned, this lawsuit in itself is probably a lost cause for TLG, but you can't pursue a ban on importing such goods in USA & Europe before you try to intervene at the source, even though everyone knows how things work in China. Please stop using "competitor" to refer to L€pin. Mattel is a competitor, this is 100% forgery. I wish a lot of luck to LEGO in this cause and hope the worldwide fan community will work together in helping the cause by not promoting and sharing links to dealers under the pretence of analysing and discussing knockoff brands, which is currently going wild on this forum. Every mention of the word L€pin and shared link or photo makes the forger more popular and encourages the market. -
21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
Sven F replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've never heard of the movie or seen those cartoon characters. If it's something really iconic, I must have fallen asleep under a boulder. As a a fan of the Beatles and much bigger fan of John Lennon as a person I was hoping for a chance to have a minifig version of at least Lennon Maybe if I watch the cartoon/movie it grows on me. I don't particularly like the yellow submarine song either, it's too happy and jingly. -
You don't have to be a re-seller to like the fact that LEGO doesn't depreciate in value. I want LEGO to be fairly expensive if that's what it costs to pay for all the development and design costs, licences, support and quality. If I can't afford a set, I don't buy it. I know what it feels like when your work is trivialized and stolen just because it's not palpable and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I would do anything in my power to stop this from happening, and if i can't then I don't want to be part of it at all. I would be happy to volunteer for free for TLG in making it harder for this and other companies ripping off designs and complete products.

I can't believe how naive some of your concepts of economics are. I quit guilt tripping users who buy knockoffs, because everyone steals when given the chance and especially if there is a group of people who then encourage each other by social comparison, just like on this forum here. Humans are so quick to find excuses. This problem needs to be solved by TLG, not fans. If it continues I will consider quitting the hobby altogether.

Oh dear, why does Lennon look like a creep? Was that picture a joke? I was looking forward to this, now maybe not so much. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Sven F replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I've never seen a non-modular set building converted into modular which looked good... or good enough to be on par with the rest. If I had to buy 4x a set to build something, i'd rather just design the whole thing from scratch. It's September now, the time when first rumors start to appear. All we can guess for now, is it's not a corner building.
