  1. I don't care about the characters if they are not minifigures, and i believe the lego minifigure is registered as a trademark with the cylindrical head included. I don't like happy meal toys, but i'm sure they are accurate representations. I don't wish to defend my case further, we simply disagree, nothing to do but wait and see.

The barista hair is new in that color and that dark orange female hair seems to be new altogether. The green and pink torsos will probably appear in other 2016 sets, but i think are debuting here. I may be wrong on the pink one.
  3. If that's what Disney is like, I'm sorry they even gave a license to LEGO, they could have gone with Playmobil, they can't be disassembled so they wouldn't have a problem. The Simpsons would have worked with normal heads just fine.
  4. what doors do you mean? I hope they don't open to the inside. I am loving the assortment of bricks in very useful colors. even if I don't end up buying it for the set, I might just for the parts. I know the sticker issue is going on repeat now, but I could live fine with stickers under one condition; that I get a spare sheet. how much would that cost in manufacturing? 10 cents? all forgiven for 10 cents. There's just a future suggestion. Won't be able to afford this in January, but if it sticks around long enough, it's definitely on the list.
  5. Brilliant. I feel like Rey is going to be a very likeable character
  6. You might want to concentrate on what might be the most sought after figure in the current wave. To be honest, I can't really tell for the monster series, popularity seems to be divided very evenly among the figs, there is no obvious stand out. It always amazes me what things make a certain fig popular in the end. Like the graduate is probably given as a gift to actual graduates, the "furries" made a collectible niche for themselves within the series, some characters come with animals that can't be acquired anywhere else like the sea captain. For example I am stacking up witches even though I have no interest in witches I just need to get as many black cats as I can.
  7. Don't forget the zombies, though popularity may be declining now.
  8. This looks great. never would have thought it would work so well at that scale.
  9. Thanks kevkipo, i've since decided that it's not worth buying the set, so i just brick-linked Amy and Rajesh for their great torsos, They have the best prints of the bunch for me. I think I have the two heads you posted in my inventory, and they would indeed work quite well.
  10. I seem to have hit a nerve with fans of the show. I couldn't remember bernadettes name, and yes, she plays an annoying character. (unless you have a submissiveness fetish) I also have no problem with fleshies, I just want some of those excellent torso prints for people who can fit in with the rest my LEGO. I am sorry to have offended anyone, i guess i underestimated the fanbase value of sitcoms and completely missed the point of LEGO which I thought was all about exchanging and combining elements to your liking. How ignorant of me.
  11. That tram is actually the only train related project i supported as i find it way more likely to be accepted as a set than any train would. It's just small enough and has a wide appeal, especially with modular and town builders.
  12. Did anyone manage to find suitable yellow faces for all the minifigures? Penny and the annoying girl can't be changed because of torso printing, but those aren't the best anyway. i'm still weighing on weather to buy this.
  13. What happens to recalled sets? do they repack them? or is it less labor intensive to just destroy them and pack new sets? I will sleep much easier if I can stop imagining wall-e's being eaten up by a shredder.
  14. I think you are taking "collectible" too literally, Its a waste of the toy's potential. The whole idea is to offer infinitely diverse construction. You are of course free to do what you want. Some people collect cars even though they are meant as transportation, but I can't perceive any theme of LEGO as something with a primary purpose of simply obtaining and displaying or I might as well collect coins instead.
  15. Well this topic is a good example, but I think there's a bunch of others too, it's gotten worse lately as like-minded members encourage each other. http://www.eurobrick... worth&st=5325 The limit is apparently set between someone filling a niche with compatible accessories and Chinese factories that blatantly copy not only official designs, but also fan models and violate trademarks of both LEGO and licence holders.
  16. I have a question for the people in charge. Am I the only one who sees as morally incorrect to discuss fake, knock off lego in the context of sharing information where to buy it and how cool it is? Fake merchandise is illegal, it steals money from TLG's market, may hold safety risks and is just plain bad taste, especially as a community of what are supposed to be fans. It's the same as discussing where and how to buy illegal drugs. I see no harm in exploring the Chinese black market, just not promoting it.
  17. and things like spiderwebs and lighting bolts printed on a hairpiece in an otherwise exclusive color. Yes, it's frustrating, and doesn't add any value to the figure.
  18. I am a fan, yes, and by no means a marketing expert, but LEGO always had a general positive vibe to it even for a distant stranger who never held a brick in his hand. Every association with another business is a risk as you have no control over the reputation of the other, but I would presume that there are people who evaluate such things, and if so, it's hard for me to believe that anyone would think they wouldn't benefit from a LEGO licence. The only instance where this makes sense is for TV shows that are no longer aired and the production house doesn't want to stray any potential popularity of current shows by reviving old ones through merchandise, but that's kinda far calculated.
  19. I will defend my pessimistic assumptions by referring to very common manufacturer practices of planned obsolescence, further fulled by complete ignorance about the issue from 99% of consumers. My mindset about keeping old things and not buying new stuff is very rare, so i am not used to companies taking into consideration such minorities that don't promote spending. Nobody buys a new iphone thinking how they'll be buying yet a newer one in 2 years time. All they think about is now, and even if they acknowledge it, they still buy it because that's just the way things are. Do you expect a parent who buys LEGO toys for their child to think about what will happen to them in 10 years time? But if it says "ECO" "responsible" "efficient" "green" "renewable" or whatever on a box with a tree logo on it, It may affect a lot of superficially environmentally conscious moms, which might be just enough to cancel out any potential loss of customers. I will be very happy if they find a feasible solution, but some things are impossible no matter how much money you throw at it. Until then, I stand behind my skepticism.
  20. Only thing that baffles me is why any company wouldn't be interested in a LEGO depiction. It's a great honour that definitely increases popularity, it's like being a star during the 80's and saying you don't want to be on the muppet show. They either underestimate the power of positive influence lego has, or they are simply stupid.
  21. Is the academy suitable for people who already know quite a bit about photography, lighting and presentation? Is there like a final test one could take or at least skip to a more advanced level? i don't mean to sound cocky, just wouldn't want to waste too much of someone's time if there is a more economical way. If not, I guess i'd like to use the opportunity to join anyway.
  22. End of LEGO probably not very soon, but an end for a lot of fans may be around the corner as the new materials are introduced. I am not going to buy anything that will have a life span because the material deteriorates with age, and even if that won't be an issue, there will probably be some compatibility issue with the older ABS bricks. I already have difficulties handling the fact they yellow due to sunlight.
  23. Cool, I can't wait for the news report on the pet shop, that was funny. btw. i agree with Paul there, you missed some steps, those larger pieces aren't leftovers.
  24. I am not disappointed, as I wouldn't buy any of it anyway. maybe the little scientists, but not overthrilled. What I am disappointed about is the way fairly lousy sets reach 10000 votes, and a lot of plausible stuff gets left behind. I think this is the worst selection since i started following the reviews. The projects are usually good, but way too large, however this time there's just a bunch of flawed ideas. Why do people bother submitting sets that hold existing licenses and themes?
  25. The queen's accessory is a party rattle in that image, because new year, that's obviously not what she'll come with.
