  1. Don"t worry Ska, MAESTRO has more ships of this size (just maybe not this well armed) coming:P Great work Maxim! Really liking how you managed to do the sides with all those plates, adds another layer of great detail to the ship. The lower gundeck seems to be a bit cramped though...:D The rigging is absolutely fantastic, I"m already fearing it! However, I think your first steering wheel was better than this single, small one.
  2. from Eslandola Nice seeing some bigger ships on here! I'm honestly surprised how well the tumblehome with the jumper plates looks, didn't expect it to look that good;) The sails look great and the rigging, while simple, does its job. However, the part below the stern is a bit to sharp with the steps in it, having those bricks on hinges would improve the looks of the ship a bit. As well as that you seem to be forgetting the same thing I feel like forgetting most of the time too - an anchor or even two:P And sorry for mainly mentioning the parts which I'm not as exited about - I'm just giving hints what could be improved on the next build or even on this one;)
  3. Progressing on my new ship, 3 days in: The odd second deck will be explained once the ship is done and gets its own thread:P The upper part of the stern will be redone, not to happy with what I have there so far.
  4. If we are talking previews of ships here, then I'll have my share! Pride of Elysabethtown Missing at least one deck, stern, rigging(the main mast, which is not what it'll look like once it is finished), sails and some other stuff I'm forgetting now. I'm hoping that I can finish this until the 3rd of April, because after that I'll only have time on the weekends. But luckily I don't have to do anything until then, so I might be able to do that even:D This one won't fit into the current rating though, as I fear there is currently no class which allows a gunrating of 7 or 8 and space for cargo... This also gives me space for my organ which I've build for the musicians talent fair:D
  5. So, the War Dwarf has changed owner through a less successful auction, the new owner is Bregir! I offered him to slightly change out the ship - I basically changed out the flags and, as well as that, the gun port covers as I finally managed to find 6 of them in black which was my original plan anyways. I've heard rumors that the name of the ship might change, as I don't own it anymore I can't complain. So, here are the pictures with the small changes I made: the port side, gun port covers closed: And, for completion we also have the starboard side with open gun ports:
  6. If that would make stuff easier for the administration I would definitely be for that. Maybe have 3rd and further FB just count half the amount of DB as the one before, so 3rd -> 5DB; 4th -> 3 DB; 5th -> 2DB; 6th and further -> 1DB Just give textfield for FB number, which would allow you directly to calculate it in; way easier than to count through the approvals by hand. Could even automate the part of calculating how much a member made through FB that month if one would want to go through making a function for that (which shouldn't be to difficult really)
  7. The Defensora is a class 2F, which does have a speed of 3. Btw, can you add me to the group conversation for that convoy too please?
  8. First - great job on the rigging, that must have taken ages! It does look really convincing! But not everything on this ship convinces me completely, her sides seem a bit to flat - a tumblehome implemented using Captain Green Hairs technique would've worked wonders there! You have a straight line without change in height, angle or width for more than half the length of the ship as of now; even just sloping the tan stripe upwards towards the stern could help giving her a bit more smooth curves. I do not want to sound to negative here - I just want to give you some hints about what could be done better - maybe on this one, maybe on the next ship you build!
  9. According to rebrickable I have about 347 Sets (I think I'm still missing at least 20 Sets I just forgot I have) and around 70000 parts, but that is just including a very small amount of pieces outside of set pieces; I would estimate it would add up to something around 90000 +/-5000 bricks total; I'll never find out how many exactly though, I feel like it is far to late for figuring that out... According to Brickset I also have around 780 minifigs, but I think it is more around the 900 mark considering how many figures I bought separately over time. Keeping track of your collection is - if you don't start at a point where you have 99% of your sets disassembled and unsorted - is, to my knowledge, the easiest with a combination of Brickset and Rebrickable. Add your sets on either one, add your extra figures on brickset and add your loose pieces on Rebrickable. As I don't care that much about figures I'm mainly using Rebrickable though. It is great that both of those services work that well together.
  10. Well, for the last one you could always go on a predator mission against the sea rats. Not sure if that would be that good of an idea though. Don't lose your War Dwarf:P Have you talked to your leadership about getting a license out of the dry dock?;)
  11. Well, so far Bounty seeking voyages have been less successful; last month there was the sunken ship Le Grande. Next month there are two options for Bounty seeking hinted at as far as I can tell (I might be interpreting this wrongly): Not sure if I interpreted that correctly, but these sound like bounty hunting voyages.
  12. I guess the Auction is over now! Congrats Bregir for winning the War Dwarf! That is 60 DBs to me and we can now see how to deal with the paperwork:P
  13. Thanks! The Wringe II won't get it is own post, it is just the same boat with the dark orange swapped out for yellow, as I felt like it wouldn't be that nice to straight up relicense a captured ship, so I decided there is a sistership with a different colour:P The only other part that has changed is the bow - I don't have many earth orange plates so that part wasn't my favourite part of the Wringe I anyways. Thanks for the compliment on the rigging, considering that I was just taking what I could see on pictures online I guess it has worked out quite well:P To be pessimistic: If this one gets captured or sunk the Wringe III will get a second headsail.
  14. What is the reason for the existence of the War Brigantine? It costs the same as the Brig does, but is equivalent or worse everywhere. The Warship rating doesn't help as it only has 1 PO anyways. 3A: 250 DB, S2, G2. C2. $0, WY, H2, PO1 4WR: 250 DB, S3, G2, C2, $2, WN, H2, PO1 Or am I missing something here?
  15. Well, it really just takes 5 minutes to setup such an auction form if you know what you have to do. And then you just wait until it ends and see what the maximum bid is. With the right chrome add-on you can even set an expiration date (no idea why that is not a default function) to make it even easier.
  16. We could also setup a google form for auctions, it is really easy: Form and Result This is no specific auction, but I could set it up easily for a specific one and even set a date to end. Just submit some random responses for testing. The only part where you have to think is how you find the maximum bid, which is easily solved by using (insert other cell numbers if you need to)
  17. First - this is a beautiful ship - the widened hull sections look great here. I'm not as excited about the integration of the stern with the tumblebone though, its sides look a bit to flat, but still good (I really like that checkerboard pattern that has been mentioned before). Perhaps the stern is bit to high up, but it still looks alright. I'll just go and add onto this the class 5 examples mention in the MRCA explanation thread: Okay, these are all armed ships - but besides the Imperial Flagship none of these have more than 3 midsections just like this one. I left the Caribbean Clipper in to show the given example of a large sloop - 1 midsection, small hulls. I completely agree with this. I'll just quote Ska again here - the example for the class 4T1 is way smaller This one has 1 small midsection, not 3 like this one. Overall I think this should easily qualify as a class 5F considering the examples and other ships available. And everyone - you must always consider that there is some extension - as in higher ship classes - planned for the future. Do you want those classes in the range of 5+ midsections if it is even possible with prefabs? As well as that - almost everyone here is somewhat limited in his parts selection and can not build the most gigantic ship possible.
  18. So, a bit over 14 hours remaining. Anyone else interested in taking part in this auction?
  19. It is working for me now. Already added my first two freebuilds and MRCA result. Are the links in the other topics updated too?
  20. The Wringe II should be a class 2F, it shouldn't slow other ships down.
  21. The Wringe II will be joining the Double Duty convoy. The Winds Beauty (MAESTRO) will be joining Clouding Blues.
  22. No, it was super easy:
  23. The Winds Beauty has been finished. As well as that I've bought myself a sistership of the Wringe I, the Wringe II which is just slightly different from the original. Have a picture of both of them:
  24. I need a bigger ship, the Wringe II just doesn't cut it. Due to this, I've decided that I'll get my shipbuilders to build a bigger ship for me. And they've succeded again! This ship is a class 3T2, a large sloop which will be a ship shared with MAESTRO and members. Her captain is Captian Nard Klein Veegevuur. So, lets see how she looks like: Lets also see her stern: And also sailing with the wind; the mast is not tipping over, thats just the perspective:P Lastly we have a size comparision with the Wringe II, as I feel like thats necessery. If you want more size comparision shots with different ships just ask;) 10 Shares:
  25. As the original Wringe I has been captured I have decided that I'll need a new small and fast ship to replace it. I went ahead and bought a sistership, the Wringe II. It has a different colour though: This will be my free ship (the second time - hope this one lasts a bit longer), and will be registered as a class 2F again. The Captian is Valerio D'Obarno.
