Is there going to be a new Free Build Registration Thread or do we push that until the 10th too?

My shipbuilders requested some palmwood, and I heard the best palmtrees grow on Cocovia, and it just so happened that I know some people around there. So I decided to to ask them if I could start a small plantation to get my needed supply of palmwood. Luckily it all worked out well; I sent one of my assistants out to set up the plantation in the near vicinity of Quinnsville. So, lets see how it goes around there: While some of the horses, which are pulling the wood from the plantation to the harbour aren't behaving as well as they should, they still get the job done. You can see one of my men is tying the newly cut down palmtree to the harness the horse is wearing. And here we can see our other two friends working, Joe is happily cutting down another tree while Kayne has just finished removing all the leaves from the latest palmtree so it is ready to be moved to the harbour of Quinnsville. And, as usual, we have out bird flying over it showing what it sees. __________________________ This small plantation will be licensed as my free property in Quinnsville

Prize Auction, The Brick Seas Purge
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Considering that every vessel owned neither by a faction nor by an NPC needs to be build, the winners of this auction will have to build the ships. I would expect the typical way of dealing with that: if you win, for example, a class 2A (cost 150DB), you would have to pay the cost you pay for the ship you won + what you would pay extra for being over 3 ships (in that case that would be 75 DB). This is at least how this was handled at the last few auctions. @Captain Wolf: Why else would anyone want to bid for one? But you would still have to pay the diminishing extra costs if you already have over 3 ships (As I said, that was how it was handled for the last few auctions).- 31 replies

I'm not entirely sure, but are lost vessels accounted for in the upkeep for the nations? I'm not 100% sure, but it sure feels like they aren't just yet, which would cause some extra loss for some nation which keeps losing half its fleet every MRCA...

I must say, this one is great. Edit: another one:

Great! Also: It might be worth noting the extension of the deadline for Challenge III in the announcement too;)

I guess this is the best place to mention this: The blue 32x32 baseplate is available on Bricks and Pieces again. Go to Buy Bricks, search 3811 in the parts area and there it is. Some other interesting colours are available too. Alternatively, a 48x48 baseplate in blue is available under the ID 4186; it is a bit more expensive then its grey counterpart though.

I would appreciate that too, maybe until the next MRCA?

[ESL-FB1] A Simple Fishing Raft
Legostone replied to Umbra-Manis's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That must be some heavy fish to outbalance that cabin! ;D Good execution of something we see rarely in these waters; one of the very few builds that doesn't need more than a few colours, and the fishing rods help with that. Great render too! -
I think the rules for royal Plantations should be adjusted if that is the case - it shouldn't be allowed to be smaller than a large Plantation.

Just typed it into a calculator, likely missed something/added something twice, but this should give you an estimate of the nations totals at least: COR: 5208 ESL: 2772 OL: 2910 SR: 1138 Thanks for doing writing this up! And thanks Ska for doing what he is doing in the background! Btw, I believe your last sheet is supposed to be the first one looking at the top line ;) I guess we as MAESTRO did quite well considering how many ships got lost in the Eslandolan fleet...

Thanks! I would feel bad for my ships if there wouldn't be some others to keep company ;) Thanks! Thanks! Well, you can see in the timeline how much time I spent on the rigging - about 4 hours, surprisingly little. I think that was well invested time;)

My shipyards have been busy - Green Winds a week ago wasn't the last ship they would build either way. While I was glad how fast Green Winds was, the beauty of Schooners never really hit me, and many others have suggested me to give my shipyards the order to build a Xebec - they are supposedly great ships, both for trade and for travel; for war and defence we have other ships. As I suspected that a Xebec should be able to keep up with Green Winds, I ordered my shipbuilders to paint her in the same colours. They succeeded in both ways - she seems to fit well with the colours of Green Winds; and considering how well she plays with the wind I have decided to name her Colour of the Wind. Lets go around her in our small boat and look: We start on the Port side: Go to the Stern: Around to the Starboard side: And finish our tour around looking at the bow: So, after we checked her out while she's still standing here, lets look at her next to Green Winds - well, lets say let a bird look at them next to each other: As you can see she's only a little bit shorter than Green Winds; as well as that she is a lot sleeker, so she should be more than equal in speed. ______ So, a quick overview over the facts: time spent building - no stopwatch running, started 1 1/2 days ago 4 longguns Captain Lum Liddle Owner Jerome Monezterrell(me) Build by Monezterrell' Shipyards (might be at some point in the future) Tradecompany MAESTRO crew: 10 men Rating: class 5F ______ sorry about the picture quality, the weather is bad and they just didn't come out any better. I might take new ones next weekend! Same goes for the typical pictures with my entire fleet - not the right weather for that today sadly. Next week! Nobody tell me that Stern is overhanging to far!

General MOC-Discussion, WIP-Help, and Teaser Thread
Legostone replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, while I couldn't find any double-decked Xebecs, I've found this one: (I hope nobody minds me linking the shop where I found this model - if so tell me and I'll remove it, but there are a few more pictures of this Xebec) which has some guns on the quarterdeck overlapping the guns on the gundeck. You could include a full second deck, but I still feel like a double decked Xebec would feel odd. But there is nothing speaking against trying it out, so go for it - if it doesn't work out as well you still have a ship which was a prototype which was decided to never be build again ;) (Someone has to be the first to build something that he thinks is worth building) I would not include a big cabin at the stern and only use small custom guns on the upper gundeck - I think those would make it to bulky. As well as that, keep the bow flat:D- 315 replies

Btw, I'm not sure if I missed it, but what were the rules for ships not licensed by individuals? I see that some other TCs have purchased ships, but I can't seem to find the exact rules. It would be great if that would be mentioned in the MRCA rules too.

Thank you! Thank you! I always feel better finishing a ship quickly - an unfinished ship is a big distraction;) The Stern was the part where I spent the most time compared to the amount of parts it required! Took me a while to get those slopes and hinges right! Thanks too! I think its all about training for building ships - the seven total ships I've build so far were all for BOBS this year. Lets hope I can keep raising the bar on my ships! Well, those masts might seem very familiar to you - they're inspired by the masts you used on the Infatigable:D A panorama lens - first I need a different camera for that, I don't own a DSLR, I just have a compact camera. I think that I can spent a bit more time taking the pictures and maybe get a different background - this blanket I'm using now is a bit to small to be able to keep all the ships in range... More ships? I think I'll build a few more ships soon.

I've recieved the message that my shipyards have finished another ship for me! We need to get there as quick as we can to check it out! And there we are! Isn't she a beauty? Finally a really fast ship that should help us to buy even more ships! That's what we call a Schooner my friend, and this one is a large one! Lets go around to the Stern: She is actually a lot larger than you might think, so I decided to command the Dragon's Revenge here, which is, albeit being bulkier, quite a bit shorter, as you can see from this bird: I also noticed that the Pride of Elysabethtown was around too, so I decided to send my bird up to these vessels too! I think it'll be a while until we have a ship equal in size to the Pride besides the Margot! I also tried to take a picture which includes all of my still standing ships, but that proved to be rather difficult - the War Dwarf/HMS Kent/Justicia (which hasn't recieved a new paintjob as the real model just yet) is to big to be in the forground and way to small in the background (you might be able to see one mast:D) - and all these ships just take up so much space (I don't even want to know how much space these minifig-scale first rates take:D)... So, a quick Overview over the facts: time spent building - no stopwatch running, but I started 1 1/2 days ago 6 swivel guns 4 longguns Captain Ronald Scourie Owner: Jerome Monezterrell (me) Build by the Monezterrell' Shipyards (might be coming at some point in the future :P) Tradecompany: MAESTRO Crew: at least 12 men Rating: at least a class 5F. not sure if it might classify for a 6F. I want to hear what you think! How it all started:

Ska, while you are here already - any hints for this MRCA? Off course only if there isn't much extra effort, just the typical excited question if there is any information to be had now;) Anyways, have fun rolling dices!
