Those backgrounds are always great to see:P My highlight in that regard are the small palmtrees in the background - something I only noticed on a second look. But the upgraded small catamaran is great too - just some small upgrades that are only noticed on a second look (the first time I saw it I thought you had just taken the set). Btw, I believe your fish is upside down - or is that a unique type of fish that only appears in these waters?

While the rigging is great, and I even believe this is the first example of a hog boat in BOBS, I think the hull on this one could use a bit more love. It just seems a little boring with all that blue - maybe try tiling the railings and add another colour for some extra contrast. Oh, and I wouldn't have expected the lamp looking great while upside down, great idea!

Wow, that's another big ship! I really like that I'm not alone having to use the diagonal for squeezing my ships in that area - it gives some extra space:P Some really nice curves on this ship, especially the bow - can you show the internal construction? I'm wondering if it could be build and stay somewhat in shape...Oh, and by arranging the slopes in that way you solved the "problem" the bow usually had with CB4s technique, great! I might have to give that technique another shot...

[ESL - FB5 - KMA] He's a Lumberjack and he's okay
Legostone replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What else should it be? We are Eslandolans after all! Thanks! I think I have enough trees to take care of nearby:D Well, there are no buildings available yet anyways (and I prefer my open air builds - ships are technically open air builds too, right?:P) Thanks! The moment @Captain Braunsfeld mentioned that song I had to dig out those torsos, because they were the best ones I could think of, besides the red Western Bandit torsos (which I used for another character here). Sadly I only had 2 of them though... -
Didn't you have that ship done for around a month? Why do you have to post it last minute? I already told you elsewhere that I generally like this ship, so I'll be lazy again and just mention the few points that throw me off - why is the mizzen mast so thick? it looks like it is missing something (and, after all, considering its thickness, you could easily retrofit a topmast to that one). Besides that there is only the headrails I've already told you about, it just seems odd that they end mid-air. Oh, and that capstan seems a little bit difficult to access with those carronades:D Oh, I would like to see this one under full sail before you tear it down - why else would you put all that time into functional rigging?

Mini-ships, great! After seeing these I imitatively had to think of Garmadons little ship based on said hull too, and yours are great too! But why are your flags flying in different directions?

Great to see a shipwreck for this challenge! And, while there, a pretty good one too! There are way too few shipwrecks in the BOBS world ;)
-
My initial plan was actually three (using the diagonal, as the Frigate is around 90 studs long and the cutter is sufficiently small), but I couldn't motivate myself enough to build a second ship that I would have to wreck like the small cutter (which I have fixed since, the rigging damage wasn't that bad actually) Thanks! The sails on these ships are actually my first try at making cloth sails, and I think they turned out great! There I go - spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 hours on the frigate and then the 6 hour cutter is more popular - gah! ;) Well, if you like it that much, have an extra picture:

I am sorry for being the one asking again, but is there any news about the MRCA results and until when the current one is delayed?

For looking at this build I recommend having this video open: Our lumberjacks are busy, every now and then they need a break, and what's better than making music while doing that? Even Gouverneur Monezterell decided to join them making music. Even some Soldiers decided to take a short break to listen to the music... Licensed as a small Art/Culture in Fuerte Unido

Honestly? The use of the banana suits and the island baseplate are the best uses for said pieces I've seen! Great build! (and story ;))

[ESL - FB2] Nuestra El Rojo La Oscuridad
Legostone replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! I guess the time spent building these was well spent (I think this one is my personal favourite even):D It is! Waterline is 92 studs, with the sail on the mizzen and the bowsprit it sits somewhere around 135 studs long:D Well, lets see those new classes first. I would be glad to see this one in one of the new classes though... Thanks! Thanks! Glad you like the stern and especially the sails - I thought dark red complemented the colourscheme (which actually contains hints of dark red, but due to lighting issues it is barely visible) well. Better be:D A Xebec needs its giant sails! :D Thanks! I was more thinking along the lines of darker sails for staying undetected during the night while hunting those... :P Again, thanks everyone for the great feedback! -

A simple, but great build! I think I would do something very similar if I had some of those red brick-bricks:D Do we sell these houses? :P- 7 replies

I'm still using the right pointing arrow and BBCode to add images to my posts, which works well, but sadly I can't preview my posts anymore, so if I were to delete too much or too little somewhere I only notice after posting now. I guess I just have to be a bit more careful while preparing my posts... As I said, it is a small inconvenience which I would prefer "fixed" if possible, but if it can't be "fixed" it is alright too, as overall there are so many thing better than with the old software! One thing I've just noticed (I'm sorry if I'm causing much extra effort here): Is it possible to add a "remove link" feature to the editor?
-
Yes, that is usually the case, but as someone who prefers using the resizing option from flickr it is kind of annoying this way. Thanks for the quick reply! Great work, mostly everything seems to work just as it should by now!

Btw, I just noticed that the text on "recently browsing" is dark grey on dark blue, almost unreadable. It is just a small detail though. Different topic, more important for me - is it possible to get a "preview topic" button back? I'm not a big fan of sending myself private messages to see how it will look...

After landing in the location of our new settlement, we had to find a place to sleep. Of course, we couldn't do said thing unguarded - we quickly build up a guard tower from the stems of 4 trees and some planks we had brought with us. For now, these tents will work, but someone replace this cook, who thought that if you can eat it and we have it we can put into our soup! On the left you can see an exploring troup returning, some others just finished setting up the tents and guardtowers. We also brought some first guns on land. This build will be licensed as a medium residence. Previously on Operation KMA: Receiving Orders Landing in Enemy Territory
