  1. I wouldn't be surprised if just my forms weren't submitted (there can always be a bug on my side), but apparently the same happened to others as well with at least 18 ships missing from the results. I have submitted the Pride of Elysabethtown, Green Winds, Colour of the Wind and Wringe II to their convoys at the 4th of July. I'm not blaming anyone here, just wanted to note this and maybe this can already help resolving this issue.
  2. I entered with Green Winds, Pride of Elysabethtown, Wringe II and Colour of the Wind(MAESTRO), and none of these are there. I'm sure Ska just uploaded an incomplete teaser for us.
  3. I think you are talking about the Eslandolan fleet, as we currently only have one ship of the line (which will hopefully change)... ;)
  4. I've seen something too, but it looks like a part of the notes seem to be missing.
  5. I normally wouldn't reply to a two month old question (especially considering I've already answered it), but I have found something interesting. It might not be a two decked Xebec, but it is a Xebec with a fully closed gundeck and an open deck above - space for the guns on the upper deck. No model, just plans for this one: http://i.imgur.com/zqVObTN.jpg (Image is to big) Found here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/5506-merchant-ship-collection-with-plans/
  6. I also told you that stores could already order their sets for the first half of 2016, and we now have multiple different sources stating that POTC was apparently not included in those, so we can be pretty sure that there won't be any POTC sets released for the first half of 2017.
  7. Also, if you just want to widen a prefab hull, you can just use a bunch of slopes, I think it worked well on my Dragon's Revenge for example.
  8. I wouldn't do it - it would be very difficult to get the bow to work out right, the same goes for the stern. After all, they are made for the width of 16 studs. For wider ships, either extend the hull using various inverted slopes/jumper plates or go full custom hull. This also gives you more freedom in the shape of a ship - curves are sadly somewhat limited by the shape of the prefabs.
  9. I believe my first Pirate Set has been the Re-Release of the Red Beard Runner.
  10. Just got myself one of the new pirates from the collectible series:D Also 8 usable torsos and about 500 spare parts.
  11. Considering that Ska still isn't back, do we have to postpone the next MRCA for longer?
  12. Wow, I'll take a few looks at that - looks great! Clips, tiles and flex tubes... sounds like an idea, and I have all of those parts, plus some cheeseslopes which might be helpful.. Sadly the bow of the ship linked earlier isn't too usable for this, due to its very sharp shape. This was just an idea that I wanted to share; maybe this can be useful in some other way. Back to the drawing board then (on the weekend, that is)
  13. Looking at the release times for the last series I would consider a line available everywhere as very unlikely. The first wave of POTC was released in April 2011 - 1 Month before the movie got released. That would mean that the next wave would also arrive around April, and if that were the case we would already know - stores are ordering their sets for the first half of 2017 just about now. It isn't impossible though that we end up with a series released on S@H, in Lego shops and a few select stores with a broader release later that year everywhere else; this is just the one piece of string I'm holding onto now - I really want a few new sources of shipparts, and a POTC series would provide those. Does anyone remember how the release of the first POTC series was handled?
  14. Thanks! Don't worry about too few shipyards - I have a bunch more builds regarding those planned out:D I kept the water basic as the whole build (besides the ship) is rather basic overall, I spent more time posing all those figures than building the actual landscape and scaffolding:P Jep, these things get big pretty quickly - this ship is my third smallest ship currently (out of 8!), and it already overhangs the 64 studs with its bowsprit. Well, these are most of my pirate related minifigs, I maybe have another 20 sitting on my remaining ships (as well as 5 or 6 captains for all of those). I fixed the second picture right after reading your comment! Hey, this is no WIP! What I wanted to show here is done, the ship will get its own post once it is done (the reason this is only a medium property at 64x48 studs - 64x16 studs are covered by a ship and another 64x12 or so are just pure baseplates:P) Thanks! I felt like the water half needed something more than just water (which is there to pronounce that this ship isn't sitting in a drydock), so I just added a bunch of boats. The boat turning around must be caused by me removing the Brig and the boats to turn the entire build to take a photo from another angle... I guess the gun they are transporting is badly balanced:P Thanks! One can never have to many of them, but sadly I have to few - these are most of mine for this theme, I only have a few more. I think I counted my pirate figures a few weeks back and ended up with a total amount of somewhere along the lines of 80 figures, something I need to change soon... And, so we don't have an empty post here, I have a pair of pictures of the brig itself - still in unfinished state though, you'll have to wait for a bit until it is finished. A small overview. The railing on one side had to be removed to allow easier transport of goods on board. I may just replace that railing with something different... This also shows the action on board a bit better. Can anyone guess the roles of everyone? :D The second picture shows the main reason this brig hasn't been built in Elysabethtown - shipbuilders willing to try something different are more common in Corrington. After all, this is a brig with 4 chase longguns, 10 carronades on the lower deck and 6 guns on the upper works. Just another ship to defend some convoys (well, one to further scare the pirates once they have decided to retreat:P)
  15. Phred, apparently one of my FB forms got submitted twice earlier today, could you please fix that?
  16. Outfitting a ship in Quinnsville | Legostone | Eslandola
  17. A large shipyard like mine needs its resources split to be ready for all eventualities! So I decided to have part of my shipyard in Elysabethtown (coming at some point) and in Quinnsville (more coming at some point too). For today we are showing you around in the outfittery in Quinsville - we are installing the masts, installing the rigging, and, in the case of a Warship, installing many guns. Let's take a look at my new Heavy War Brig being outfitted! Hey you guys! We need to wait with the last 4 guns for the forecastle and Quarterdeck! We need to get the gundeck filled first! (guy in the grey suit) Why do we have to scrub the sidewalls again? You were the one being stupid, you ...! (guy with the beard and no hair) ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT, ROWADY ROWADY YOUR BOAT (guy rowing the green boat) YOU CAN'T SING, SHUT UP! (guy steering the boat) PULL! PULL! (guy holding the rope to pull up the upper foremast) You are almost there, just a few meters more! (guy with the green pants on top of the mast) Holding it! (guy holding onto the mast not helping) Stop this! (guy with the beard) Are you allowed to build a ship here? (one of the Corrington Soldiers) Yes, here, check the papers. (Jerome Monezterell) Total area. I'm not sure if I should license this as a medium artisan and finish the brig or use the hull for another ship (tear this one down) and license this as a large artisan, as this build covers 64x48 studs, more than enough for it. I'll add some pictures of the Heavy War Brig (that doesn't fit into any definition, as it has 10 24 pounder carronades (the classical cannons you can see), 6 9 pounders on the upper part as well as 4 9 pounder chase guns. I feel like it is to small for a 5HA, and 5LA wouldn't fit as this isn't exactly a fast ship, and a 4HA doesn't exist. Oh well...) once my upload works again. A total of 56 minifigures are participating in this build:D
  18. Wuhu, it hasn't been forgotten about:P Okay, no long text here, there isn't much to update anyways, just a concept for the bow - in very colourful and not even connected to the ship itself, as I still need to work on that connection. I hope to properly continue early September, but maybe I can get a few smaller updates in next weekend.
  19. Looking at available sources, it looks like there will either be a) no POTC b) no POTC for the first half of next year (highly unlikely, as the movie will get released in the first half) or c) an exclusive series not available everywhere(no information, but haa happened before). You can trust me on this if you want to do so, or just ignore me - this is just based on various different sources.
  20. Wuhu, this is great! Reminds me a lot of my second pirate set - Forbidden Island which I got used for my birthday about 12 years back:D I also remember doing the same thing by raising the island itself using some coloured plates - much better than the replacement 1 - brick island in the 2009 pirate series. I feel like I need to take this one as inspiration for another build soon...
  21. Btw, as it is already the 9th - can we get some information when we can expect the MRCA results? As usual a big thanks to the team working behind the scenes making all this possible;)
  22. Has anything changed for the PIP calculation? I think I had over 1000 last month, and now I am down to 838... Edit: you seem to have found the problem, fantastic!
  23. I won't reply to everyone for this one, sorry! Thanks to everyone who commented! Yay, someone convinced to move away from the prefab masts and rigging:D And even better - you;) I might have some more inspiration to help you out - the upper part of the foremast of another ship close to the same size as this one. I'll fix your criticism with the flags on my next ship; I completely forgot about them after putting them on:P Presentation - I know I can work on that, but that would require me to find space and such. I actually do try to take pictures from a lower angle, but in this case my bedsheet was too small (or better say the mount on top); this ship is around 60 studs or so high (I'm not going to check, but it is somewhere around there). Maybe the weather is better the next time I'm taking pictures and I can take them outside again. Great, I hope I won't disappoint you there:D But I fear before I finish that ship there will be a bunch more ships - I have one more WIP that is very close to finishing and I see myself building many ships for challenge 4 as my small ships are out of date compared to my bigger ones which won't fit into the boundaries after all, even if they were allowed:P I must say, I'm already very exited for this challenge and am looking ahead for everyone's entries! I don't mind any events - I just don't want it taken nor sunk:P Everyone has to start somewhere - I started building ships just about 5 months ago and have, since then, as far as I can tell, improved a lot. And a crew really adds some detail - without it the deck on this ship looks quite empty; if you want to I can take a picture without the crew once I am back home. Quick question to everyone - does anyone have any experience taking pictures of whole fleets (right now that would be 5 large, 1 mid-size and 2 small ships, but the small ones will be more soon)? I want to take a proper picture of the part of the MAESTRO treasure fleet that is sitting on my desk as of now:P (my desk is full - I need a bigger desk)(not as an entry for Challenge 4, more as a tease for everyone willing to participate) (Brig(4A), Frigate(5+A), Barque(5T), Barquentine(WIP)(4T2), Schooner(5F), Xebec(5F) in the back, 2 small boats that are sloops but supposed to be cutters(2F and 2 WR); I have torn down my full-size new Terraman(5+T), my large sloop(3T2) and my mini-Warschooner(5LA)).
