[OL - FB] The 'États de Boussac'
Legostone replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great ship! (be it in size or in other ways :P) But it would be boring if I were to leave it at that. First - how is the stern lamp made? I see cheeseslopes and a couple of small radar dishes, but I see no way they are connected together - I thought you were building your ships in a way they could be build? Then, one thing I really dislike about this shiptype (not your fault though - I've seen it just a couple days ago on an actual shipmodel and have seen many plans which had the same thing) - the lone gunport on the lower deck. It just looks wrong (again, not your fault, I just don't like them there). As well as that - can you show the bow from ontop? I would like to see how you solved that issue (if you did that is ). I also think the dk grey hingeplate you used to mount the lowest headrail could've been brown - they exist to my knowledge. The headrails look great btw - have you tried having the center one a different colour? Might (!) look even better. -

We wouldn't pay for that! -
Maxim, Sebeus, Titus and I had a ship-build-off at Captain Green Hairs place last weekend. Check it out and vote for the best ship!

AUCTION! Selling captured vessels!
Legostone replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well, I transferred the ships to you now then, I hope that will be fine. Also a quick note for anyone doublechecking: I had discussed this with the ESL leadership, and the following 4As that were sold were swapped with other faction ships: Plump Patty -> Catfish Supreme (bought by me) Long Beard -> Plunging Dagger (bought by @Garmadon) -

@Tomsche You'll have to transfer your ships yourself (Just fill in a 0 DB transaction form mentioning each of them once you recieved your payments). I'll get to transferring the ships tomorrow I fear. -

How practical that you are talking to the leader of one of the TCs as well as the representative for the same one. Hmmm... This screams Duel time, doesn't it? ;) -
Well, we can see in this image that the area around the cabin is certainly is hollow:

So, we have 10 guns on each of the gundecks. Let's go with the typical ratio of 4:2 for Lego guns: The gundeck part alone would be 60 studs long. You can expect at least 8 more studs on either end for stern and forecastle; so you can expect your hull to be at least 80 studs long. @Jacob Nion is certainly right, this will be a proper ship of the line, with around 60 guns. Due to the price of the lego guns, I can only recommend you going with custom guns at least for the upper deck. This should also allow you to not make it as wide, I guess 16 studs width at the top would still be needed.- 315 replies

Where did the ETWC find the gold to build this all of the sudden? Really, you used gold everywhere - in the walls, in the fountain, even your knives are solid gold :D Also great plants - good to see some variation in there. I think the top of the fountain is prone to falling off though ;)

I'm surprised how well the flesh Ostriches fit with the yellow minifigs - I guess I'll have to go find mine:D I guess I don't have to say it once again, but the action scene is great as usual. One detail that jumped into my face - did you cross a clam with a crab? Or is there another reason for that? :D

This one? Nice floor you have there! But how did that poor Eslandolan turn around that quickly before falling?

Thanks! No problem with liking the colour-scheme - it is still a ship from my shipyards :P

@Phadeout: Does the "Gold Wing" (1T) still exist? @gedren_y We would be glad to have the "Consort's Duty" join us in the Victory run once again. @Umbra-Manis Currently it doesn't look like there will be a need for a second speed 2 convoy. Will you be joining it with your Golden Crescent? -

@Captain Becker I think it wasn't specified which ship it was, but if I remember correctly it was a ship of the Venetian Navy. You are talking about that very curvy plan I posted earlier as a "challenge", right? It was a Polacre, 18th century. Else... the SOTL is based on a Venetian Plan as far as I know, some speculate its the San Carlo Borromeo. The Barque was much deeper, I would likely spent 20 Minutes searching again. -
I don't mind losing ships myself (what are 1000 DBs at this point? Change?), I just find it a bit sad that they completly disappear. I wouldn't mind if they were auctioned off or reappear 1 MRCA later as armed vessels instead. The losses might have to do with the routes I'm sending these ships on as well as the amount of ships I've built - I just happen to be the one losing a bunch of them.

Well, the Wringe was captured in March last year and hasn't appeared since, the Wind's Beauty (3T2) had a mutiny in June (I think, might have been July) and hasn't been heard of either. Pride of Elysabethtown was sunk (so it doesn't matter here) and the last one had a mutiny last month (Green Winds, 5F).
