    Great! Never planned to have beakhead or cabin overhanging, but having the extra space for a bowsprit should allow me to get at least a pair of reasonably sized vessels in :D

    For Category D: Is it alright if the bowsprits of one or both of those vessels overhangs the base? My plan for that category depends on the answer to this. If I remember correctly it wasn't an issue for Challenge IV.

    Great! I could make a list of the great details but I'm just gonna say those guys taking apart the foliage in the back are my favourites:P I think they are collection them in that grey box there, not sure what they do with them afterwards. Maybe they taste good?

    Thanks! Yeah... Got stuck:D Not sure about the ratlines. They are so much work, and you know I like my ships build fast (I guess total time spent on this one was under 24 hours once again), and ratlines are very slow to make. Not that this isn't a permanent ship (at least until I have 2 new frigates that I find better looking than this one, and I dare saying that will take a while), but I think I'm saving ratlines for bigger ships, or ships with a different, bigger scale. Thanks! ;) Thanks! The headrails (my favourite part of the bow) took me a few attempts, and I think a few things wouldn't have been as good without the help of everyone who helped out in the Shipwrights Guild hall, flickr (always getting a bit of feedback there), everyone in the Eslandolan group conversation (and be it motivation ;D) and lastly a few friends on Facebook:P Last one - again, it has already replaced my old frigate on my shelf, so I guess you and Kai aren't the only ones thinking that :D Talking about the old Frigate, I've started reworking the ship, if you want to check out progress or even better suggest another thing to improve, please do so! I'm always glad for feedback!

    Sitting next to the Cardinal the issues with La Raya Venenosa became apparent to me again. That very odd bow, the tall mizzen - just not looking great next to it. I had also recently obtained a decent amount of tan technic connectors to finally replace the bending towers of round 1x1 bricks I had used before. Here is a picture (taken earlier) of La Raya Venenosa with her flaws: The bow is far too low, the headrails are too long, the masts are the wrong height and bending, Foremast was too far back... Just not happy with how it looks now. So I decided to tear down the masts and the bow. This is very early in the WIP rebuild, so here you go: Railings are WIP, but I think the shape of the bow is much better now. I've also adjusted the angle of the tumblehome (was surprisingly easy to do) in that area. In theory there is enough space for another (11th) gunport now, but I'm not doing that, as I want this ship to remain smaller than the Cardinal (although that one is actually only 2 studs longer... ;)) And here is the new mast layout: Main mast, as intended, the tallest of the 3, Foremast slightly less tall, with the fighting top slightly above the one from the mizzen. Also note that I've moved the ladder in this picture - the previous position was kinda in the way. Next steps: Fixing the Skylight (I'm not happy with the current solution), fixing the other side, proper railings on both sides and then go from there. Maybe also a new sternplate? Now a question to the BOBS ship licensing experts (@Bregir). Would it be possible that this ship goes through as a new one once finished? While the hull remains in one piece, bow, likely the stern, details on the hull, masts, rigging and sails will be reworked or replaced with new ones, so maybe?

    It has replaced my old frigate on my shelf, so I think you are not the only one thinking that :P Unmixed water - there is just one issue: It'll take a lot of time sorting a shoebox (at least 11000) round 1x1 plates in three colours:P I might try something different for the water with the upcoming challenge though ;) Thanks! Credit for the name goes to @Capt Wolf Thanks! I'm hoping I can still improve over the next few vessels - I hope I won't disappoint. I would really like to see a ship from you again though ;) I agree about the sails, lucky coincidence that this colour was the only one I still had enough off :D There is one problem I have with this colour scheme - I need more of it :P You have sharp eyes! I'm glad someone noticed:D I think there is one more thing that you either didn't mention or missed - let's see if you can find it ;)

    Just finished my latest Frigate, the Cardinal! Will be licensed as my very own 5HA until the new classes arrive :P

    These shipyards never take a break. Over the past couple of weeks, we've been busy working on a new frigate to reply to the constant pressure applied by Mardier. Unlike most of the previous ships built here, we've decided to paint this ship in untypical colours - this ship will be the first of many in my very own fleet of warships. For the time being, it'll very likely start it's career by hunting down Marderians, but I'm hoping that eventually there will be no need for that anymore and it can return to escorting other ships. The dark hull should hopefully allow us to remain hidden if there is a need for it. Even the mizzen is equipped with a topgallant mast and sail, which should allow this ship to catch up to any ship weaker than her, and escape those who are any stronger. _____________________ For the time being, this one will be licensed as a class 5HA for myself, but I'm hoping on upgrading it to a 5th rate (I'm guessing that would mean class 7?), as it carries 36 guns (with 5th rates being 32+ guns). If anyone doesn't believe me - 22 guns on the gundeck, 2 bowchasers, 2 sternchasers, 2 guns on the forecastle, 8 guns on the Quarterdeck (you might check here, the most rear guns have been moved further back and rotated). Thanks to @Capt Wolf, @Elostirion and @gedren_y for suggesting names ;) It also has a small brother, the Tribute, a 4A.

    I have changed my mind about making sails, I'm making them now. I decided to try out if some of the bigger square sails (topgallants and tops) from La Raya Venenosa would fit this ship, and they are quite a good fit. And as I've already decided on remaking the masts and rigging on that one quite soon, it isn't much of an issue for me removing the old sails from it. Next couple sails will be the remaining square sails. Edit: Bookmark for next ship

    Doesn't seem like the factions get anything from properties getting licensed as far as I can tell... I remember that being different.
