Hmm, does anyone already have black uniforms? Could be a possibility.

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Indeed! While I don't have any other examples of this, I don't see these as completely unreasonable - I rather see them as protective areas around swivel guns/small guns, which were usually out in the open, as well as the decorative aspect you had mentioned. I would be certain they would negatively affect performance of a ship, but considering it would be a fantasy ship anyways it should still be reasonable. I would also really like to see a BOBS example of this kind of vessel, both in the non-ghost ship and as a ghostship. -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like having my figureheads:P I think most of my mid-sized and bigger ships had some kind of figurehead, so I had to stay true to that for this one too:D Sadly there isn't enough space for more around the bow. No, I haven't, but maybe it can be an inspiration for one of my next merchants. Well, and here is the current state of progress: I've decided to keep the bulwarks fairly low, as it is a ship that isn't meant to run alone, the guns are only for defense if conflict can't be avoided. If this would be built like a frigate I would raise them a bit further up. Once I'm done with the rigging I'll set it down next to the Cardinal to see how similar the two ships are (this one is just a few studs longer and wider, but I think the other hull is slightly taller, at least around the stern and bow. Off course, the necessery rigging test at this point: Seems to be holding up. -
Or maybe both? While I'm not the biggest fan of the idea behind it (I would've preferred any other ship from the franchise basically), I think it is better executed than I had expected, and if I have the money to spare (which I doubt), I'll be buying one.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Legostone replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
There are several sets in other themes at this price point that were kid focused. Hoth and the upcoming technic RC set come to my mind here. I guess the Ewok Village also counts. Well, I'm certainly hoping that images can get released soon... -

Got myself a couple new parts: -
Oh, I haven't commented on this one. Great Barge (I think the first one we have seen here on BOBS), and those slopes are indeed a good part to use here (I actually have a ton of them lying around in a WIP I started 4 months ago... Maybe this motivates me to continue it at some point...), but I agree with Bregir that the rigging seems odd, at least the topsail - I have never seen a topsail with a beam holding it arranged in this way. Maybe keep that one in the same shape as on the plans, triangular?

Another great ship from you with a fantastic colour scheme! I would like to see the stern though - it is missing from all your pictures ;) I think I would really like to see a CGH-Style Frigate in this very same colour scheme. They can also get quite sturdy (if reinforcements are properly placed).

Those who aren't mentioned specifically: Thanks for your positive feedback! Well, until 2 days ago the only shots I had from the back were pretty terrible, and this one isn't great either: But I do think red works well on most ships, I haven't seen the combination of dk red and red that often though :D He is very slow because people are watching. You aren't the first to say that - thanks! And no, I haven't thought about selling personalised sails, especially considering the time I usually have to spend to make them, at 20-30 minutes each (with rare exceptions going faster), and the materials aren't free either (I think so far I'm in 35€ in materials for them alone, with enough to spare for maybe 1 large vessel with tan sails and a medium sized vessel with dark red sails). I also think that @Captain Green Hair's sails are better than mine. (26 green, 20 tan, 6 dk red sails so far). The beak head is a compromise here - making it 1 wide means a bunch of compromises in other places. Working on it!

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Tan! My yellow is used in other ships:P (also, what do you think of the headrails on this one? I think the beak head is a little bit too long, but I can't change that as I don't want to cut my tan flex tubes) -
Great! I really like the way you loaded the horse and the "I wish there was a donkey" Mule ;) But I do wonder the rest of that ex-cow lies now:D

@kurigan Actually, nope. I stumbled over this one a while back: And decided I could try something similar. Edit: I've continued a bit on the bow: -
I think you could mean this post, if you are looking for yellow-compatible Marderian uniforms.

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Got started on a new ship, a New Terraman (Indiaman), a bit bigger than my frigate (2 studs wider and 1 1/2 longer) Top view for both ships, you can see the new one is a bit bigger overall. Broadsides of the new ship. Stern of both of the ships. I think I'll be replacing the guns with smaller ones (I just had these lying around), and I'm also still missing the Bulwarks. I'm also working on several more ships that I'm hoping I can get ready over the next couple weeks. @Kolonialbeamter Great Galleon! Looking forward to the final build! -

Oh, and while I start selling this I might as well mention this: Garvey might control the Kraken, but Oleon now has a pet-pirate :D OOC: Nobody be worried, this is just a joke towards @Jacob Nion :P -

...I'm wondering why noone has started a business based on this idea yet. Take some corn, add some oil and heat it up, and you have popped corn, which tastes great! Also a great thing to eat if something interesting is happening. And well, today is a great day to sell some in Lavalette. POPPED CORN! ANYONE WANTING TO BUY POPPED CORN? Will be licensed as a small commerce in Lavalette. (and yes, this is a joke towards @Maxim I )

[SR-MRCA] Long John Bronze (4A) Capture
Legostone replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Cool colourscheme, and seeing that head at the bow sure makes it intimidating (I think the mouth opening and revealing a gun would be really cool though:P). Now, while I like how low it is in the hull, I'm not the biggest fan of your stern, I'm sure you can add a couple more details to it. I also think it could use a bit more of an overall curve, right now it is a pretty square ship(I think even just hinging everything above the prefab lower stern inwards going only a single stud inwards would help tremendously). I also think your lanteen yard is facing the wrong way - shouldn't the higher end be in the back? ;) -

And if there is something to hide they could've done it way better. Just look at the transactions from Eslandolans after any MRCA - try to follow any transactions there -

Well, both Mardier and Garvey got several thousand DBs last month (over 12000 and over 7000), so something will happen I guess... -

There is a better use for those DB than to give them to them Marderians! Give them to me instead, I can make use of them... -
Considering both Mardier and Garvey now have some balance in their accounts, shouldn't they also have to pay upkeep for their fleets? ;)
