I agree! You've done a great job with the pieces you had on hand. But, the Winter Village is as much about interior as exterior, so I would also like to see some interior pictures. The style of the building is great, I really like the colors and the soup kitchen is very nice. Lots of very clever parts usage, I partictukarly like the entry lamps! Andy D

This is teriffic! Not the first thing I think of for a Winter Village, but I still like it! So many nice touches. Which catches my eye first? Is it the SNOT? Is it the exterior and trim? Is it the interior? Not sure how it will do in the contest, but because of the uniqueness, it could do quite well! I may have to "borrow" some of your ideas for a desert city. Thanks for sharing this Andy D

It looks like LEGO could be in for a tough year. I've read how many people plan to spend less (and build more). Only one problem with this... LEGO doesn't make money if we just sit at our desks and build... We have to go to the store (virtual or brick and mortor) and actually buy something. I hope TLG doesn't come after me for starting a spend less movement. My plans for 2013 are not necessarly to spend less, they are to build more. There, I hope TLG will forgive my previous motto. LEGO's Jabba's Palace, Star Wars, and accusations of racism

I just re-read this thread again, and this quoted post says it all, more elegently than even some of he longer posts. Read this quoted post again! Andy D -
For some reason your photos are just coming through as a solid black on my iPad. I've noticed this from some photo sharing sites. Andy D

I do use freezer bags in both the quart and gallon size. They meet my needs for temporary or long term storage. Not something I get into, open and close often. They do have problems with frequent handling, but I simply replace the bag when it has deteroriated. For the price and convenience you can't beat them for certain applications. I generally use Ziplock brand. For most of my storage needs I am transitioning from the Akro Mils drawers to Gladware entree size food storage boxes mainly for convenience and price. Andy D

Good luck with that ;). It didn't work out so well for me. I spent more and built less. I have got to try harder to just build more this year. How are you "parting" with your minifigs? I also have many more than I need. Good luck with your LEGO plans for 2013. Personally I am looking forward to seeing more of your excellent MOC's. Andy D

This is very nice! It reminds me of why I must get into mini and micro builds. So much detail in so littie space. This is an excellent recreation of Bag End in a 1/3 scale. Many people are going to copy this! You've started something here. It is amazing what we can do when "forced" to by circumstance. Andy D
