  1. Maybe not... But sometimes you reach a point to where you wonder where you are going to put more... I am almost there now. I need to get a TARDIS to use as my LEGO studio. Help! Andy D
  2. You might also consider the 42039, 24 Hours Race Car as a fun build, good inspiration, parts doner in other colors, and maybe a learning experience for suspension axel and some gear use. I just started this model for the above reasons myself. Andy D
  3. There are several very good comments here which I totall agree with... 1. Alternate model instructions should be printed... I would pay for this. 2. Alternate models should be of the same caliber as the Primary model. 3. An effort should be made to use more of the parts in the alternate models than is currently being made... In some models there are way too many parts left over after building the alternate model, maybe have more parts so there may be an equal number of left over parts from each A or B model. 4. In some cases I also would be willing to buy two sets just so as to not have to disassemble the set to make both models. This means better alternate models need to be provided. 5. As ShadDeGray pointed out, this would be an extra indication to parents (and children) that LEGO is an infinitely expandable system. As a side note... The Creator 3 in 1 models are very important to me. Each year I purchase 15 to 20, $15 to $20 sets to be used as donations for church toy drive. I feel this gives the child more than one toy from one box and no batteries needed. More 2 in 1 sets from different themes would mean more different types of sets I could purchase for the toy drive. We need more 2 in 1 sets. Andy D
  4. Wow! I don't have a huge photo library, but I can only imagine the problem of recreating the account. Keep us informed of your plight, it may help others of us. I guess the answer for the rest of us is to use both the email as well as the Flickr account on a regular basis. Much good luck... Andy D
  5. Yep! Me too... I just ordered a bunch of Power a Functions goodies, got double points, and the Holiday Train. Win, win! Andy D
  6. I really like both solutions! I do not have a problem with the post alignment between the ground floor and the upper floors, sometimes this happens in actual buildings. For me, the alignment is a matter of choice. It is your building and you don't like the posts out of alignment, so it is your choice. One of the main differences is the number of windows on the upper floors, the smaller windows give the illusion of more and smaller interior spaces, the larger windows give the illusion of fewer and potentially larger interior spaces. For me neither is necessarily better, just a design choice. Great modular building! Andy D
  7. As I said in the other topic... This looks really nice. I wish you success! Andy D
  8. This appears really slick, and maybe useful as well. A breadboard system compatible with LEGO. I don't do this anymore, but maybe some engineers or technicians or LEGO hobbies the would find it useful. If I still built electronic circuits, I would back this. Andy D
  9. That thing Is absolutely phenomenal on so many levels! Andy D
  10. If it is not retired where your are, great! It is already retired in the U.S., guess I missed it. Andy D
  11. I'm retired, so I guess I would just be a nobleman or count or someone else who doesn't have to work. Andy D
  12. Just started thinking about this thread again, today. How close to the 8258 is your Crane Truck? Thinking I would like to assemble the 8258 again, but info longer have it. But with your resurrection using the 42009, it just may be a possibility. I noticed yours is not motorized, I want to incorporate motorized functions as they were on the 8258. Thanks, Andy D
  13. Regarding the 8258, yeah I considered buying another but the price is more than two current models. So for now it will have to just be a pleasant memory of assembling once. Rethinking this.. I really don't necessarily want to own the 8258 Crane Truck, I would just like to assemble it again. I remember that someone built a Crane Truck from the 42009, maybe I will just do that after I build and disassemble the 42009. There, problem solved! Andy D
  14. If asked, I usually help parents hunting for something for their kids. I have not run into a parent child combo hunting, but if asked I would offer my opinion. I don't just offer an opinion without being asked, some people don't like that. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  15. These are two very different cars. Either looks fairly easy to fully motorize. Just look on YouTube for each model and you can see examples. It all comes down to preferences (Grand Prix vs Le Mans) and price you are willing to pay. Good luck with your decision. Andy D
  16. Some of these small scale "micro builds" really amaze me. Your crane looks so realistic and functional. Andy D
  17. I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I recently found this thread while looking for some driven and steering options http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92099&st=0 IHTH Andy D
  18. I like it! It looks quite nice and realistic, maybe just a little too white for "movie accurate", but still nice. My only concern would to keep the white, white and not yellow over time. Looking forward to seeing your "brick built" version. Andy D
  19. I must have hit a 9 instead of an 8... But it was the red Crane Truck, a very nice truck, great gear train for learning how to to make a multi-function gear box, great gearing and use of linear actuators in the boom. I would really like to assemble that again! Andy D
  20. The set looks terrific! Can hardly wait! The big question is.... Are they going to produce enough sets so everyone who wants one can get one? I plan to order as soon as the order link becomes live, but so does everyone else, so LEGO's site will crash as usual. Andy D
  21. Very nice! Lots of fun details. Where is the pumpkin - Jack-O-Lantern head from? Keep on stacking those bricks! Andy D
  22. A couple of years ago I thought I was done with Technic my interest was mainly Modular buildings and Winter Village, so I sold... 2 Crane Truck - 8259 1 motorized Excavator - 8043 1 Front Loader - 8256 1 Off Roader - 8297 At dirt cheap prices, a good buy for another Eurobricker... Due to my new found interest in GoPro, my interest in Technic has been renewed I regret selling both Crane Trucks (8259) I should have kept one Crane a Truck and the Motorized Excavator (8043), they would have been handy for parts, motors and gears and learning. Instead I just bought the 42009, 42029, 42039 and the 42042 to re-learn Technic building techniques and for parts, motors and gears. Oh, well, I'm not sure I will ever sell any LEGO again, for I do not know when I may want it. Well, maybe I might sell some LOTR or some mini figs some day;) Just MHO, Andy D
  23. Very nice, such determination, they all look really good! Andy D
  24. I recently got interested in GoPro. So now I am designing GoPro things made from LEGO. Combining two hobbies, what could be better? Two expensive hobbies oh,well my wife knows I'm expensive ;) Andy D
  25. Not sure if it's "the best", but the one I most looking forward to is... Doctor Who! Andy D
