  1. For me, Amazon has a wonderful, easy to use, always functional shopping site. For LEGO, the solution is simple... Fire everyone involved in the website and hire quality developers, maybe poach some from Amazon. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  2. Unfortunately, most of the stuff I build is just not "swoosh-able". When was the last time you swooshed a modular building? Maybe I should build something that is swoosh-able... Just to swoosh nice or twice! Andy D
  3. Good morning to you! Deraven is correct! A dedicated LEGO space is the secret to a successful relationship. I know, but my wife says "No encroaching on her space (hobby room)". Anyway you should visit the "Ladies Group http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2729 " claim your title and other privileges. Welcome, Andy D
  4. Thanks, I will start referring the "OTD, Older Than Dirt" members to the original OTD thread. You are absolutely correct, folks should be able to make the decision to be in the OTD club themselves. (But they should;)) Thanks again, Andy D
  5. Great looking little Bot! Good dancer too! Andy D
  6. Feel like giving a clue as to your next theme? I'm anxiously waiting, really want to see the street. Andy D
  7. The speculator thing is probably why I did not get invited. I always buy multiple copies of the modulars and Winter Village (for myself) and in October, during double points I usually spend quite a bit on the $20 range Creator sets (like 20 to 25 sets) for donations to Christmas Toy Drive at church. I spend between $1500 to $2500 per year, but because of my spending patterns, it may look like I am a speculator. If I got flagged as a speculator that is probably why I have never been invited. I know recognize folks here that buy sets for resale, but have been invited in the past. So maybe it has something to do with who you know as well. Andy D
  8. Very impressive! Very detailed. Andy D
  9. Wow! Great build! I really like the windows and the ivy covered wall. Andy D
  10. More than I care to admit to! More than I can ever build. More than I can ever display. I am afraid to count! But way, way, way less than 1000! I will never have 1000 LEGO sets! Andy D
  11. When I first saw your 16x16 Jabba's Palace I immediately thought of it as like Jabba's Town House or Summer cottage, not his palace in the country. Looking forward to more random themes that most people would just think of as a shrunk up house/building. So far, not sure if Orthanic or Jabba's is my favorite. Also looking forward to seeing what your street of random buildings/themes is going to look like. Keep on stacking those bricks! Andy D
  12. Can it include non-LEGO LED lights? Andy D
  13. I really like your 16x16's. But if I decide to do something like this I will most likely make them 16x32 to make them more on the regular modular building scale with sidewalks and such. Right now I have too many projects in the queue,so I am just collecting ideas for future projects Andy D
  14. If this is for "Big Spenders", I most likely will not be getting an invite. Of course, if it a "Big Spender's" only my wife will be very glad if I never get an invite! Andy D
  15. Was this in email or postal mail? Also, is this one of the "Big Spender's" events, or just VIPs? I've never been invited before, 'cause I'm not one of the "Big Spender's".
  16. Welcome... Somebody give this guy an "Old Timer's" badge!
  17. How many parts beyond what was in the set is necessary for this one? I seem to have an unopened set.
  18. I use the Akro-Mills cabinets. I am not sure this is a design flaw. The Akro-Mills drawers also "flop" to an angle (I did not measure, but is probably at least 15 degrees). I typically only have one drawer open at a time, so it doesn't bother me. I usually just remove the drawer I am using to better access the parts. So yes, the Akro-Mills drawers also do as you said (not sure I would say flop), but they do not just maintain a level aspect when open. IHTH Andy D
  19. Another winner! Do you have photos of different views? This is going to be one interesting street! Andy D
  20. How about a photo of the ones you have completed together, just do we can see how the street is shaping up? Andy D
  21. I think the "Tower Fins" are just fine, it gives a certain grandiose appearance to the structure. Adds interest. I plan to use the large "Tower Fins" when I copy this. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  22. That my friend is just the right size for the Tower of Othanic. I got one as a gift, put it together and have been wondering what to do with it ever since. I think I will take it apart and make one like this. Much better for display space. I look forward to more of your creations (so I can copy them). Andy D
  23. When the "new" (revisited) Toy Shop came out, someone (I forgot who) suggested making a new WV model using just the parts in that set. I can't do it, but I'll bet someone can make a fantastic MOC using just those parts (that is not a Toy Shop) and is obviously something else. Would that be a legal entry? Andy D
  24. Smaller is better! This is a GB HQ I would like to have! The "official" looks too large to me. Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  25. Kind of what I figured, everyone has their own reasons when to use, when to not use. Me, I am like others... I will use them to make things look good (or right) and not when I feel they are not needed. I really hadn't considered the added strength, but I will keep that in mind.
