  1. Great! Now if there was just a way to keep this thread closer to the top. Andy D
  2. Jim, Great review! Between you and Sariel my credit card is going to take such a hit! I was not interested in the Drag Racer before, but now... I feel it is a must have. One question, can you make a thread to gathere all your reviews? They are starting to get scattered and in a couple of hours they may be very difficult to find. Maybe a "Front Page" link to your's and Sariel's reviews. Thanks for all you do... Andy D
  3. Thanks for the reviews! Great as always! I was not planning to buy anything from the 2016 wave, but now the Drag Racer and Race Cart are must buys! Also, thanks for putting all the reviews in one thread, makes it much easier to find. The hamsters are really great, adding much authenticity to the models. I did not get a chance to look at all the reviews yet, but the thread will make it much easier to get back to them. Thanks again for all that you do. Andy D Do they only look at comments on YouTube, or will they get info from here on EB?
  4. Rats! And Rats! This is worse than being a kid waiting for Christmas morning! Thanks, Andy D
  5. That IS really special! Amazing build. Andy D
  6. When reviews are available (maybe in 2 hours), will there be a "Front Page" announcement? Just waiting, and waiting and waiting... Andy D
  7. When I visualized the scene I did not see a manger. I wanted to have Mary holding Jesus, but that did not look good, so I made it with no manger. Maybe I will look into making a manger. Sorry 'bout the song stuck in your head, but there is no manger here. (Yet). Thanks to all who commented, Andy D
  8. A Nativity for my WInter Village. I added a second photo below. I put the Baby Jesus in a simple manger. Which do you like best? Nativity by MyPlasticBricks, on Flickr Nativity by MyPlasticBricks, on Flickr I have been wanting to add a Nativity to my Winter Village Square. I finally made one this year. C&C Welcome Andy D
  9. My favroite Christmas Tree would be one with a TARDIS under it! Christmas TARDIS by MyPlasticBricks, on Flickr Doctor 11 and River Song landed the TARDIS under a Christmas tree.
  10. Like storage and sorting, this topic just keeps coming back. Different title, same topic, same folks give same answers. Here's my same answer. 1. I like numbered bags. It allows me to keep my build organized and build in stages. So I can easily pick up where I leave off. 2. I also sort by type, size and function to help me find be parts as needed. A side benefit of the sorting is I get to see the parts before I need them so I can try to figure out how it may be used. All of this increases my enjoyment of the building process. Andy D
  11. This thread took a sudden dark turn! Maybe I do need to get my affairs in order though. As for the casket and headstone, I wonder if it is legal in the U.S. to use something like that for a casket? Whoops, I just contributed to the dark turn... Must build more and turn away from the dark side, and not head into the light too soon. Andy D
  12. You might find some folks who use RCX over on the mind boards forum at http://mindboards.net The forum has been active for several years, it is an offshoot of the defunct NXTasy forum which died a few years ago. Some of the founders have been using Mindstorms since RCX, so you might find help and info there. IHTH Andy D
  13. I too was quite concerned! No EuroBricks, no EB Flickr, i was having flashbacks to Nxtasy all over again! I am just glad Eurobricks is back! Thanks to those in charge for all you do! Andy D
  14. I can identify with your question, I think about that occasionally, but I think my adult son would like most of them. I do often wonder why I continue to buy... I have been slowing my buying, but I still buy 6 to 10 large sets per year, build maybe half. I hope I can change my building rate in 2016. I guess we older LEGO collectors tend think these things occasionally... Andy D
  15. My first thought was a hippy truck from the '60's, but I can also see the Indian truck resemblance as well. Though I personlally never saw anything quite this "colorful". Or it could be looked as quite a patchwork of repair. Andy D
  16. Very nice! I like the way you reused some of the pieces from last year's Santa's Workshop fro the LEGO Winter Village. I believe this is a real contender. Andy D
  17. Nice design! It looks like you have everything one needs for a castle. Well thought out. Andy D
  18. I've bought all I want (can afford) this year, except Doctor Who! Not available until Dec 1... I guess I will just have to wait... Bummer! Andy D
  19. Very nice! I like the size/scale of yours better than the official LEGO cabin. Good luck in the contest. Andy D

    Pet peeves?

Not having enough time to work on all my projects! Andy D
  21. After I take a set apart, I put the parts in a sorted inventory. I have rebuilt some sets from my inventory, but it takes quite a bit of time for me to recover the parts for a medium sized set and I have not yet rebuilt a large set that I have parted out. You could do it In a two way organization. If you think you may want to rebuild a set, keep those parts separate as a set. If you think you would like to use the parts for something else, keep them in a organized storage system. The best of both worlds. Andy D
  22. If you are not going to MOC, then separating parts will make it more difficult to gather the parts to re-make the sets. For sets storage I believe ziplock bags per set is a good alternative. However if you really want to separate the sets, there is a great thread all about sorting and storage... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=26213 Andy D
  23. Great! I really like it. I don't know why I didn't get 2 as well. Oh, well. Andy D
  24. Yes, and one of them could be a badge of honor, the "Old Timer's" badge. Andy D
  25. Well, it's been over a year since we discussed the "Olde Than Dirt" crowd. I know there are some new members in the "over 50" club, so stand up, admit your age, join us and claim your lovely "Oldtimer's Badge",and let the Eurobricks community know who you are and that you are a proud "Oldtimer" LEGO builder. So who else is "Older Than Dirt"? I am looking forward to seeing just who is in our social community. Andy D
