[moc] BR A4 4-6-2 'Sir Nigel Gresley'
Feuer Zug replied to LordsofMedieval's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm going to vote blue. Especially with LEGO, the lighter shade will help bring out the details and make it more visually appealing. -

Awesome A4 Pacific! You've captured the look as best possible with LEGO. I don't even notice the parts issues and can easily overlook the color. Keep up the great work! -

Where is 'the line' when it comes to custom parts?
Feuer Zug replied to LordsofMedieval's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Have you considered Duplo where appropriate? I've gotten plenty of Duplo for dirt cheap with bulk lots and used them to hold up parts of my tunnels. -

Where is 'the line' when it comes to custom parts?
Feuer Zug replied to LordsofMedieval's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm mostly a purist, but understand people looking outside of LEGO options to make certain MOCs. Everybody has their personal reasons for using/playing with LEGO. If they want to incorporate outside parts or stick with only LEGO pieces, who am I to judge them. Only when a show or contest requires "purity", does it seem to really matter. As I dabble in trains and military builds, I am quite aware of the third party options out there for wheels, valve gear, side rods, switches, weapons and the like. I have a few third party switches and curves myself, along with using knock off baseplates when they are fully covered over. Thusly, I try not to be the hypocrite in the crowd. Now, let's all play nice. -
100% Lego control panel for controlling a switch yard
Feuer Zug replied to BatteryPoweredBricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Interesting design and build. Well done. -
Excellent work reusing the parts for 24 models. This one is great, and is a better design than the official LEGO set. Your 180SX captures the look of the real car better.

Gorgeous build. Lots happening here, but it's not overpowering. Well done. -
Great build for the Nebulon-B. Lots of details, even at such a scale.

Brilliant building design. The octagonal bricks are a stroke of genius. All the externally mounted air conditioning units are fitting as well. -
Nice work on the olde tyme steam powered fire engine. Good use of the wheels for the boiler.

Wicked mythological dragon. The scales on it are perfect. Love the steamy swamp base as well.

Great work on this small industrial layout. Plenty of details, but not overdone. I like the use of the collectable minifig bases with the skylights.

Wicked mods to your outstanding trains. These are fun and powerful looking.

Oooh, the passenger car is pretty. You even managed to make it a proper corridor car (slender minifigs only).

[GBW] - Free Build - Deland Republic - Bunker Cutaway
Feuer Zug replied to Mirror1810's topic in The Great Brick War
Cool build. I like the view with the farmer on top, the ground, then the bunker. The skeleton is a funny touch. -
Thanks. I had to look up the American auto trains. It seems AMTRAK still runs it, and they use autoracks similar to the ones I built. They probably bought them from the same place the car shippers do.

Danke. Getting the small details at the scale I work in is not easy. Creative license is sometimes required.

Interesting design. The light strip around the windows is neat. I like how you were able to render it.
