  1. The prelims for Elves 2017 are out in the wild. The goblins look neat, the prelims show them as all one color so I wonder how they will actually be detailed. I'm not sure if they will be all different skin colors or if the different colors represent different hair / outfit color themes. They are a little like the troll toys from the 90s but their hair is not as extreme. 41181 - Cool little brick built boat, sort of kayak-like, and small riverside scene with green goblin. 41182 - Little kiosk like the dragon school without the tree part. Weird goblin machine that is mostly technic with a black basketball hoop to catch Sophie with. Small portal build. Blue goblin. 41183 - The dragon coloring is really weird, I don't get how they are going to make this look right but maybe it will work out in the final version. Comes with a small waterfall scene with a blue baby bear and a purple goblin. 41184 - Aira's blimp looks like the Ninjago set combined with Naida's boat. Too lavender for me but nice gold piping and prow. 41185 - The village has 3 separate buildings. Blue, yellow, and purple goblin. The scaled down buildings for the goblins are neat, they have brick built doors about 3 bricks high. Catapult with some sort of "nexo globlins" being fired. Crazy dark blue trees with purple leaves and red spikes. One building is more like a tree with a cave under it. Yellow/orange cat is caged under the tree. Green chameleon in the tree. Neat mine cart. Black shield with an eye on it, pretty nice design.
  2. The pictures of this train convinced me to finally just bricklink the parts I needed to build a Constitution engine and tender out of my collection and make some custom cars. That was fun at least. I'd like some red wheels but generally this is not worth it to me, maybe if its ever available at a good discount.
  3. Incredible build, one of the best vehicle MOCs I've seen! Great pictures too. May I ask how long it took to make this? Also have you shared it with the SJFD?
  4. While I'm intrigued by the lightning rock gargoyles, overall this new wave looks like the colors are too extreme for me. I'm also already getting burned out on wacky vehicles. Can we get more than one decent building per year out of Nexo Knights?
  5. Its not anywhere near that easy. The LEGO inventory system is insanely complex. There is cost for storing bricks for old sets and the logistical complexity of being ready to produce more of all the old sets on demand, it just doesn't make any sense for the potential profits. Right now they are sometimes unable to produce enough of current sets so they'd have no motivation to dedicate bandwidth to old sets less likely to sell.
  6. Great truck, very detailed! Are those official tires or something custom, they look interesting.
  7. Thanks for the descriptions! Are you sure these wheels are a new part and not the drill piece used as wheels on Magmar's siege machine? The drawing of 70352 makes them look an awful lot like those parts.
  8. Store exclusives like the kings mech and infernox are not heavily discounted because they're sold through resellers.
  9. Series 1 sounds like it could be a blind bag/box item. Collect em all.
  10. Yea honestly I'm ok with them alternating because the vignettes are always available for a short time and sometimes push me to pay full price for larger sets to get free shipping. Obviously, this is part of the point to LEGO. But I don't mind taking a break from that and focusing on getting sets from other sources at a discount.
  11. Well to be clear I'm not rooting for it, its just an idea that occurred to me. There are adults in Narnia as well, but obviously they're very different stories.
  12. Sophie makes me wonder if the story will be a bit like the Chronicles of Narnia where only young children can enter the world of Elves, and once they've learned some life lessons and had adventures its time for the next generation to take over.
  13. Amazing job, its very creative to make something like this work within the limitations of the NXT system and LEGO.
  14. Goblin village sounds great! I wonder if the goblins will be a new kind of figure like the scurriers from NK? It sounds like these sets will have the antagonists in every set which is a change for Elves. The first year didn't even have bad guys, just a quest for keys, it looks like Elves is getting more aggressive.
  15. So sleek, really great looking tank!
  16. Of course, there are many "normal" TIE fighters and then the UCS tie fighter, many normal X-wings and then the UCS x-wing, many millennium falcons but only one UCS millennium falcon... But Star Wars in general rehashes the same vehicles over and over again. This is an interesting rumor, I'd like a ship that is not too over the top with supernatural elements, and not so monochromatic as the black pearl.
  17. I don't think you can draw the conclusion its number 4 from that sentence, its more like the top three plus honorable mention for the biggest new theme.
  18. http://www.pressreader.com/china/the-wall-street-journal-asia/20160907/282007556836769 This article talks about a minor slowdown in LEGO's growth for the first half of this year, BUT it points out about 10% growth in Asia and Europe, because "...its overall sales growth was driven by its established line of brick sets, including Lego City, Lego Ninjago and Lego Star Wars, as well as its new Lego Nexo Knights theme." Interesting for anyone wondering about Nexo Knights success so far.
  19. Awesome, very whimsical! I especially like the grandfather clock and the roof decorations.
  20. I see they cost 15 Euro on the site, but can someone explain are these bricktober items usually free if you buy a certain amount, and how much? Even $15 USD is too much, and I'm only interested in the warriors, but maybe as a GWP.
  21. I like your window fan and brick effect. But you need to use an image hosting site like imgur, the attach feature is not meant for embedding images in posts (just for your avatar).
  22. This MOC was actually inspired by the Technic Pneumatics contest. I had the idea to make a pneumatic firing cannon. After making a prototype I decided it's firing was not impressive enough and I'd rather just make a good looking model. Hope you like the results. Transport Mode:
  23. I did a review of an Oxford set a while back: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109571 I have several other sets from times I've visited Korea, and the quality of the plastic is quite good, and the stickers are decent. Printing is not great, depends on the complexity. Weapons do come on sprues but are otherwise good quality. Clutch power is as good as LEGO. And the builds tend to be very solid, they don't cheap out on the internal structure. In the US these sets are available on ebay for just about MSRP with free shipping, but you have to wait for them to come from Korea.

    A Lego Bus.

Have you looked at the instructions for that bus to get a starting point? They're available here: http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/4603381.pdf
  25. Neat design, but wouldn't they need to license all the shield images from LEGO?
