  1. Bricks and Pieces is a source, I just ordered several scurriers. $2.25 + $0.18 horns if you need them. I saw some squirebots parts too. Also picked up a Whiperella and ultimate Magmar parts.
  2. Nice forced perspective and vignette! I'd never seen that drawer technique, now I want to use it.
  3. All the soft plastic foliage parts are fragile to varying degrees. Take care in storage and also when removing them from builds to prevent breakage and white stress marks.
  4. Mr. Sausage is actually kinda funny and surreal, not nearly as terrible as the "high school" one. The only thing that bugs me is how the bricks are inconsistently attached to each other and orientated.
  5. We're almost to the official release date now but I wanted to mention I saw Aaron's crossbow plane and Macy's motorcycle on the shelves at my Target yesterday. According to the inventory tracker no Targets around have the two biggest sets so maybe they aren't stocking them.
  6. I don't think Elves is noticeably more discounted than Friends. I saw some 50% off pop star sets next to those Elves sets which BTW quickly sold out. This is contrary to for example Bionicle which has 50% off sets that just sit there for weeks (and hence that theme WAS canceled).
  7. Sorry to all the fans of this theme. There are piles of the last wave on 50% off clearance in several stores near me, so it makes sense to me. At least there is a chance to stock up on parts affordably for fans who will keep MOCing.
  8. The sold out will probably be changed to a backordered date, its happened before and seems too unbelievable for it actually be sold out already.
  9. Could you use a stack of not fully engaged 1x1 plates? Or even tiles if you have something behind it to help keep them from falling out.
  10. I like Lavaria, but its underwhelming to get a readily available set as a freebie. Beastmaster seems to be the most marked down ultimate around me.
  11. What the final movie did to the Battle of Hogwarts was an abomination. No house elves, Harry not making dramatic use of the cloak, the ridiculous jump off the tower, not having the final showdown in front of everyone, bleh. But anyway, I liked the new trailer for this and am pretty excited. I might even pick up the Dimensions set (but I'd try to sell off the game part).
  12. Yea I saw hot dog man + hot dog baby on another site. But I don't have any buns yet .
  13. I picked up Nadia's ship today for 50% off at Walmart. I had been hesitating on it as too colorful, but its a nice set. They also had Skyra's castle for 50% off and it was very tempting to buy another for parts.
  14. Has anyone else made a banana baby? FYI my Walmart is already cleared out.
  15. Its clearly trans yellow from the pictures.
  16. I agree that its probably a sticker BUT just because its a sticker in the promo pics doesn't mean it will be in production. For example: NEXO shields were clearly stickers in all the early official pictures, but are printed. Also printing can be removed.
  17. Just want to share my own rogues gallery.
  18. I was recently inspired to do a simple test on the effect of sunlight on brick yellowing. This May I had new windows installed in my house and this has resulted in more time with the curtains open enjoying the views and sunlight. I started to worry about the effect of sunlight on my MOCs and trays of bricks for builds in progress. The new windows have a coating that is supposed to improve energy efficiency, its called "SmartSun" glass. I also wondered if this would reduce the risk to the bricks. So what I did was place 4 sets of brand new white bricks in various sun exposure conditions. All were on the south side of the house for the last 6 weeks (summer in my area). The white bricks sandwiched by red bricks were taped to the outside of a window directly exposed, the blue were just inside the same window. The yellow set was behind a patio door with glass that is approximately 25 years old. And the black set was left in the dark the whole time. The results are essentially a lack of results, I saw no yellowing on any of the bricks, see pictures below. Now 6 weeks is not the same as years, and bricks mounted vertically are not the same as a build that is actually outside with the sun beating directly down on them. But for my purposes of concern about LEGO being exposed a few hours a day, indirectly through a window, this 6 weeks of continuous exposure is equivalent to at least several years worth. I'm still going to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight for my builds, but this definitely reduced my concern.
  19. Is it just me or are the colors all washed out on the TRU images.
  20. Great job! The overall feel of the room is right and the pencils are brilliant. I'm not sure I understand the hands in the wood and glass cabinets though, those are mostly filled with books on the show.
  21. On one hand its nice to get new parts, but I prefer the old hood on the rogues over the new covered face version. Its too ninja-like.
  22. My Walmart put out a pair of boxes, they looked basically untouched this morning. Got all the figures I wanted except I passed on the hiker and am now thinking I need one . I have a feeling he'll be affordable on ebay so no big rush. All the figures I got are great, impressive detailing all around.
  23. http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker?sku=204-00-1379 I struck out in my town. None at Walmart, Shopko, Walgreens. I asked Target to check in the back and they brought out another full box of the Disney series (to go with an almost full one already out).
  24. All the new sets were on the shelves today at my Target in the US. Was very tempted to get the queen dragon, but remembered by set backlog and decided to wait for a deal.
