  1. I would guess there are close to 200 yellow liftarms in 42009. Plus heaps of liftarms in other colours.
  2. I love it :) Reminds me of the Manila jeepneys http://cdn.livesharetravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Manila-International-Airport-2.jpg
  3. All very nice but the green hot rod was really my favorite! Great work!
  4. So nice! Really like it. I just ordered the chassis BI from sheepo.
  5. Looks like heaven is placed on the side of the Baltic sea! Awesome pictures and report.
  6. I mean both third party, like all distributors, toy stories, bricklink stores, second hand market, ebay, etc, but also TLG. Its big business. It is also reasonable that a MOC builder who shares his or her creation want some money for their building instructions. Yes I agree, the downside is that people do not share until they have everything completed, like in thesis or patents. But the driving force is still recognition more than money. If we go back to the Lego world I prefer MOC builders who are proud of their work and really want to show it by making movies, BI, etc for recognition from a community. If it was just for play at home, nobody would share. That is my opinion anyway.
  7. I understand your thinking and that would maybe be nice, but without possibility to make a profit, there would be no Lego at all :) And without big egos caring about what others think and do, there would probably not be all these amazing creations we can enjoy and learn from. Getting cred and feedback from a community can be a strong driving force. This is what you see in the academic world where people work their a$$ off and fame among a few caring people is the reward, not money.
  8. Normally I think it sounds a little too much to ask for permission, but in the case where you use someone else's solution in a competition I think it is a really nice gesture.
  9. That was a surprise! And it made me laugh :) Really good work!
  10. Wow, great improvements, really like it!
  11. Looks brutal in real terrain!!
  12. It is absolutely stunning, very nice model!
  13. I built the crane yesterday and I was amazed how fun it was. I am not a big fan of pneu but this was something extra, I must say. I played with it for a long time. Leif, maybe you are rigth that pneumatics in Lego is more a proof of concept, but when it works this well it is really fun.
  14. Some really cool solutions. I have more or less only built official sets or other peoples MOCs and am thinking about making a buggy or something similar. I never get started as I dont know how to make the suspension and axles, but this really got me inspired. Maybe this should be next project :)
  15. This is really cool, M_longer. It will be very interesting to follow your work!
  16. I think 8880 has been the most difficult official set for me. At the time I was rather new to technic and it was a really difficult build. I also remember I had made a mistake that took forever to find and correct. It was driving me nuts. But at the same time, this masterpiece was one of the most rewarding and fun build ever.
  17. Awesome work! Following this thread and your work really makes me thinking about building this creation. I have a 42009 in its box and the Ultimate version looks so much cooler than the original.
  18. I agree. I would not buy or build this without the electrics because that is really a vital part for all the functions.
  19. Wow what a strong monster you built! Really nice work!
  20. Great review! I had similar experience when building this model. It is so beautiful and clever, but also fragile and weak in some areas. Building really tested my patience but was also rewarding and fun :) It made me want to build more of mr Klijn's creations.
  21. Wow what a nice helicopter. All these smooth lines with all details, amazing. The interior, especially the incubator, is really smart and with great detail. Do you have a video to show the functions?
  22. After spending so many hours of building his amazing creations, it feels very nice to get to know the person a little. Thanks for the interview!
