Wonderwoman does look better with pants, but part of me prefers the old torso. This one seems... Too detailed? Batman is also looking great.

That is excellent. Can't wait to see it painted.

Ah! Well played LEGO, well played indeed. I still think it's a bit of a sketchy thing to do though, and it does compromise their values a bit, but that is, frankly, brilliant. They've really got a good marketing department, don't they?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Borador replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'll bet that's exactly what the Samurai will look like, or at least, VERY similar to that. And cool, printed head. Is the Cyclops purple? If so, I hope the face is just a bit feminine, yet still scary. That would work perfectly. Gingerbread Woman would be cool. Lady Yeti isn't really needed, since female Yetis (I assume) don't look different from their male counterparts. -
Upon thinking about it, I think a LEGO Big Bang Theory episode could probably work. There are plenty of different routes they could take than what they did with The Simpsons. However, I don't think they will since it's just an Ideas project, after all. The Simpsons today is a bit graphic, but in the past it wasn't. I remember there being several episodes focused entirely on childhood problems or parenting issues that had no references to sex whatsoever. The ones that come to mind are the one where Bart wanted to be a daredevil, the one where Homer banned Bart from seeing the Itchy and Scratchy movie, and the one where Marge was very disturbed by the violent content on Itchy and Scratchy. There were others that were clearly more kid oriented, but I can't remember what they were. On top of that, there were also more age-neutral episodes that had no mention of sex, the most famous example of which is the Monorail episode. No sex jokes there. Many, many episodes of The Simpsons are totally without adult topics. Granted, there are many that very prominently feature sex or alcohol, but many episodes are fairly clean. The Big Bang Theory does have clean episodes, such as the one where Sheldon was sick (one of the best, by the way), that have little to no sex talk in them, but a lot of them very prominently feature sex jokes of some sort. In fact, in the earlier seasons, the entire appeal of Howard's character was how perverted he was, and the extremes he often took this was often the joke. This, of course, changed once he met Bernadette, but regardless that was a major part of the show. While neither are things that would ever be aired on a kids channel, if I had to pick one, I'd say the Simpsons is far more kid-friendly than Big Bang. And plus, The Simpsons are very imbedded in popular culture to the point where not making them was as offensive as making them. The Simpsons also translate better since they are a cartoon, and the character designs are recognizable anywhere. The Big Bang Theory has some of this (everyone always wears pretty much the same clothes and has the same hair, so this is one of very few sitcoms that would actually translate well), but it isn't quite as much. I'd say, honestly, LEGO made a poor choice. Catering to adult collectors is fine, but this is just... Well, it just feels wrong, whether it is or is not, I don't feel okay about this... If that makes any sense? Also, I don't think this will be a full line of anything. I expect one set and then that's it. Maybe of the couch, and a bit of the rest of the room? There won't be a Collectible Mini figure Line at least.

MOC: LOTR (Gray Havens - Elven Swan Fountain)
Borador replied to Reekardoo's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I love the use of frogs for the swan heads. Very lovely project. Good luck on Ideas! -
Oh, I love them too, they are hysterical. But they are only funny because they are bad. The last movie I watched was the second half of Scary Movie 3. Surprisingly funny, actually. 7.5/10

I can tell you that the reason LEGO doesn't make full trans-clear figures is because the joints would wear too easily if they frequntly rubbed against each other. I do not own any bootlegs, (and frankly, I don't even know why I follow this topic. These things terrify me, how many laws do they break? Dang! Scary stuff), so I cannot personally say what the quality of these Stormtroopers are, but I would say it's probably not that great.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

If the Lady Cyclops has a printed head like the male, I wonder if it wouldn't work well for Likho? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Likho (I wish I had a picture. Stupid Wikipedia!) -
I honestly don't believe it. I like the show, but I'm actually not too happy that LEGO picked this. It just feels wrong. I mean, The Simpsons is one thing; if I recall correctly, that show was far, far more family oriented when it first premiered. But The Simpsons are such a pop-culture icon that it really didn't matter how adult they had become; they were a notable absence on LEGO's roster. The Big Bang Theory is... Popular. But I don't think it's really on the same level as, say, The Simpsons, or Star Wars. It's a sitcom, and a very adult-oriented one at that. It just feels wrong for LEGO to make it, and to be totally honest, I wish they hadn't. I wonder why they even picked it? Oh well, I can at least look forward to A) A proper LEGO Sheldon, and B) The response from LEGO's Parents Boards. Oh, and the pictures posted earlier are not preliminary, they are the project pictures. Everything is going to be changed very heavily, Cinnamon will probably not be included at all, unless they have a Yorkie mold they're sitting on, but I doubt it. EDIT: Almost forgot! I seriously doubt they're going to do a LEGO episode of the Big Bang Theory. They just did that with the Simpsons, it's too early to do it again. Although, the Simpsons just did a crossover with Family Guy, and now, like a month or so later, they're crossing over with Futurama... Hm?

I'll end this debate once and for all. I think we can all agree that... Both superheroes... And Transformers... Are better than... Sci-Fi originals like Pirhanna-Conda or Super-Shark vs. Mega-Croc. We now return you to the discussion of the last movie you watched.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

I guess this list was real. LOVE that king. New crown? I've only been wanting one of those since 2009! And is that a brown Gnome beard? Yes please! Perfect figure! The Alien is a pleasant surprise. I was expecting something repetitive, but that is certainly new. Not useful to me in the least (actually, one could repaint it and use it as an Ood), but I like it. Disco Diva is neat, but not really my thing. The same can be said for most of this series. This one is more of a "collect them all" instead of a "ooh, I could use a few of those" series. Good on its own, but I'm not too excited. Of course, these pictures are really low-res, maybe once I see better ones I'll think differently. -
Watched parts of a childhood favorite, 2002's Scooby-Doo last weekend. Gee. That hasn't aged too well. The cast was perfect in their respective roles, but the CGI is just terrible. Good for reliving the good-old days, and a perfect cast, but otherwise... Eh, it was alright. Also saw parts of the Country Bears last weekend, also from 2002. I remember passing that one up, that was the first movie I decided not to see. As a child, I was apparently quite intelligent. That was so utterly horrific I cannot even put it into words. Wow! I also saw Empire of the Sun from 1988 as part of a school project. Pretty good, but it went on longer than it needed to, I think. I'm not really that fond of war movies, but this one was a pretty interesting perspective.

I honestly don't remember for sure, but when I was little I had a ton of those little sets with the one-sheet instructions. I remember having Basil the Bat lord, a scuba diver with a raft, etc. Those are the only ones I specifically remember. For Christmas that year, my Great-Grandma had gotten a ton of those little sets (and a few bigger ones) for really cheap, so she gave them to me for Christmas. Ironically, I was very disappointed that LEGO was all I got. My sister had a few Dragon Masters sets, but I don't know which ones. I remember I also had some castle thing, but I don't remember what it was. The first set that I remember getting was... Probably the Raptor Attack from Jurassic Park III. I know I had some before that, but that is the first real set that I specifically remember building. My memory is terrible, sorry!

I think my biggest problem with Green Arrow's hair is that the yellow kinda jars with the dark green on the mask. I don't know, it just looks off. I don't think changing it to tan would really help much either, though, I think Green Arrow just needs a hood. And sleeves. Love that torso print though.

I really don't like the title, actually. I hope the movie is good enough that it balances it out, because that's a pretty lame title...
-
A movie will happen eventually, but he was talking about LEGO sets, which will not happen...

Those are awesome! I especially like the Benny one.

Excellent work once again, Autorazr.

I like the idea of rebooting all of the castle themes into one big, story-based, theme. I don't know if I'd do everything the way you describe it though, but I love the idea of having them all come back to fight each other. Sort of a Super Smash Bros. type thing. Good idea there.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Borador replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah! Perhaps it could be a Terra Cotta warrior. That would make this series one of the best yet. Though I still think Evil Samurai is the most likely. Or Female Samurai. Or Evil Female Samurai... And I, for one, cannot wait until someone uses this head with the unicorn suit, as has been done with previous animal costumes: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb501 That would be hysterical. -
Welcome to Eurobricks! I look forward to seeing what you build.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Borador replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Then it's possible. In fact, I'd say it's likely. Also, one thing we didn't consider- what if it's an evil Samurai? -
To be honest, when I first saw the old images, I was certain they were fake. These are REALLY similar to past Pirate lines. Looking back though, a lot of the stuff from 2009 was also really similar to past Pirate stuff. I guess LEGO likes to update their Pirates line, rather than expand it... But theres really nothing wrong with that. I love this new stuff. Can't wait for better pictures!
