  1. According to Ardelon on Page 5, there are usually 5 female figures. We've got 3/5. 2 more, but what could they be?
  2. I may have missed something, but has anyone thought to use this torso for Ra's Al Ghul? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb1754c01
  3. Yes, we do. I said we've already gotten some of these figures. Isn't there a set number of female figures per line? Which ones could be female? I don't know about you, but something tells me that "unicorn girl" might be female. I don't know why, just a hunch is all. Disco Diva, Lady Cyclops, maybe even Alien Trooper (as a lady friend for our Alien Avenger). Possibly Imp? Maybe Paleontologist, but since we just got a female paleontologist with the Research Lab, I doubt it. Maybe the Samurai is female, but I seriously doubt that (I know very little of Japanese culture, but I'm almost 100% that women weren't allowed to Samurai. Then again, women weren't allowed to be knights in Western Europe (or Eastern Europe for that matter, but LEGO hasn't made anything for that), and we still got female knights. Hard to say. Any other ideas on that?
  4. Well, it matches the images, but, opposite to the last one, this one seems to be too exciting, with not enough mundane figures. And we've already gotten several of these. Though due to the translation, I will give this the benefit of the doubt, since it does partially match those images. EDIT: Another list popped up while I was typing. That one is even more plausible. I don't know what to think anymore...
  5. Dinofeatherphobia? That's a new one. I prefer my dinosaurs fuzzy, with lotsa feathers. They can be so stunning. The different patterns and colors that some illustrators come up with are just fantastic. I am always sadened when a new piece of science fiction comes out that involves dinosaurs and they have no feathers (even more irritating is when they call a dinosaur that is clearly Deinonychus or some other large dromaesaurid "velociraptor" in what is clearly an attempt to imitate Jurassic Park. That agitates me to no end. It was fine for Jurassic Park, but after that it just got old). There has got to be someone in Hollywood who knows how lovely feathered dinosaurs can be. Surely, there MUST be someone who can break from the monotonous crowd of lizards... Anyways, more on topic. The more I hear about this movie, the less I want to see it. Cuttlefish? Really? Frogs made sense, but they're just throwing whatever crap they got into this thing. Might as well make him part shark and have a bunch of them get together in tornado and fly around eating people. And while you're at it, throw in a weird hybrid of a dog and an anaconda, because why not? Sheesh, this thing sounds terrible. I just hope this "Diabolous-Rex" (the name is as lame as the premise) looks like a regular T-Rex, and there better be Raptors in this or it'll be a total failure. If I may be honest, having a Raptor battle pack would make this whole thing worth it. I would love that, not just a fan of Jurassic Park, but of LEGO as well. That would be a dream. I hope they do sets from the first trilogy, or at least the first film... It doesn't look like they will though.
  6. I don't get it... I am going to avoid content judging for just a second. Okay? The writing sucks. He waits until the end to make his point, and then when he does make it, it is hardly made at all (had I not been linked there by this thread, I may not have known what he was talking about. It sounds like he wants adults to stop playing with LEGO, but who could be sure? It's just rambling. Seriously, I'll bet he failed English class). Okay, now lets look at his reasons for argument... There are none? None? This is just a big summary of a kid's movie, with a terrible excuse for a claim, and then no argument or evidence to back it up.Frankly, I must wonder why we are even discussing this. It's Internet Poop. I think he literally wrote this on the toilet after all that black coffee he drank kicked in. That, to me, seems more likely than this being serious journalism. If this was supposed to be serious journalism, I can assure you that I will never be getting news from Esquire if they allow quality like this. I'm not even going to bother with content. If he had an argument (or even a well stated-claim) I would respond, but he just doesn't. Also, weird that his name is Brick. O, the irony!
  7. No, the worst is when you have a great idea, but no time or parts to do it, so you just think about it and get really excited to finally try it, and then you spend a lot of money on parts, and finally get some time, really excited, parts come in the mail, oh yes, finally! And then... It doesn't work/won't fit/looks bad... Very unfortunate.
  8. I won't recommend that you use rub on transfers because they are hard and are not cheap, but you should at least look into them because they offer some advantages over water slides and regular decals. For one, a clear water slide decal is totally transparent and the colors will mix if you put it on too dark a torso. While this will happen with rub ons, you can combat it by painting the back of the colored parts white before applying the sticky side, which keeps the background clear and the colors the same as they were when printed. You can also do metallics if you have a silver pen. But they take a LOT of pratice, and then they are still hard to use, so be careful. They cost about 10 dollars for 4 sheets, plus about five for the paint pen. And you need a good printer, or they won't look good. I've actually thought about just printing the whole thing clear and coloring it with colored paint pens, but I've yet to do much with that yet. If you want examples of what can be done, check my Flickr.
  9. And let's not forget that Green Arrow is quite similar to his CCE figure. Same costume, slightly different print, and a different headgear. Old one is still exclusive, new one is still the same costume... Now does anyone here doubt that Phoenix, Bizarro, Shazam, etc. won't get the same treatment eventually?
  10. Impressive, by far some of the best LEGO costumes I've ever seen.
  11. LEGO is a much higher profile company, and they've dealt with being called racist before. It isn't something they'd want to do. Also, don't forget that the Playmobil figures were in the context of a civil war theme. A Confederate CMF would not have that context. It would just be a single figure all by its lonesome. If they had done a union guy earlier, then maybe, but they haven't.
  12. I'm not a big investor either, but I don't think value is going to depend so much on theme, and more on what sets are iconic and well designed. Bag-End will probably be worth quite a bit. Though most Hobbit sets are subpar, and the films less well liked (by both fans and non fans), I expect most Hobbit sets will be worth less, but let's not generalize that much...
  13. Welcome to Eurobricks, MechMan!
  14. I love how you put the Flick-Fire missiles in. Makes it look more like a real set. Ha. An excellent build all around. Well done.
  15. Man, that looks amazing! Great build. I have to say, there are so many great entries to this contest. It's really inspired people.
  16. This is an awesome build! It really captures the scene well!
  17. Beautiful. Excellent detailing on the roof and the arches. And I love that water.
  18. The problem I see with most of this Minas Tiriths is that they're really big... I don't know about "too big" but they're getting there. Is there a small, well built one around? I mean, I can't see any of these being actual sets, just due to size and detail.
  19. ... Wait, why are we shaving their backs?
  20. Yeah, Scala is pretty hard to look at. Had some cool accessories though. I think Galidor is the most obvious, I myself don't like Friends, but Scala is much worse... In short, I pretty much agree with everything said here. I never really thought about the worst theme, I usually just ignore the ones I don't like.

    Haloween

We already had trick or treat here. It's always earlier than Halloween, for different reasons every year, don't know why this year. I remember that annoyed me as a child. It made the day of Halloween less special, you know? These days, I don't really do much, actually have a History paper that I have to do on Halloween... Scarier than any monsters or ghouls.
  22. Well, we'll probably get some, but we aren't gonna get all of them. It sounded like people were thinking LEGO was going to be making sets for ALL of these movies, when theres no way that's gonna happen. We will for sure get some of them, and possibly tie ins for the others, but we aren't getting 100% of them, which is what it sounded like people thought. This really doesn't have anything to do with 2015 though... No, there is only Electro, he said "amazing spiderman 2 polybags" as in polybags from the second movie. Technically, though, there was the Comic-Con Exclusive Spider-Man figure that looked to be based on the movie, so that counts..
  23. I hate to be the burster of bubbles, but why does everyone think we're actually getting sets from these movies? Was that stated somewhere? If not, I think it's safe to say that there will not be sets, since there were none for Cap or Thor 2. There may have been for Iron Man 3, Guardians, and The Avengers, but I still say it's more likely we aren't getting any...
  24. Nice display, Hypernova. Do you have a better picture of your Sauron? I can't really make out what it looks like...
