That was never a rumor. Just the talk of some ignorant people.

They keep saying it's 334 pieces... But I still think its 460-something. 335 pieces is impossible, it is simply too few to make that set.

Well a better way of getting to a similar conclution is saying that lego rarely makes a set without any unique figure. SO unless the 2 orcs are unique the hero is proapblt only seen in this one set for now.

Sounds like the quality of the builds will be on par with FRIENDS wich are as good as normal town sets.

Is he figthing for or agaisnt the orcs tho? what general colors does he have in the "minifig index"

Im curious if theres any males in the sets.

Beorn would be at Dol Guldur to help gandalf cause in a recent book it said that Beorn informs Gandalf of the dangers there and thats why he goes there(along with radagast reasons) Yeah a NEW elven sword in SILVER/GREY, the elven sword we got so far has never been correct and I do not understand why it was even made. Bolg and 2 orc would be THE ambush, the set just wouldn't include the one being ambushed. A battle pack wouldn't have include a named figure. But yeah, it's mroe likely its Elrond.

But noone has said the change happened now, it could have happened in March. Its jsut that the news got out now. If there even is a change. Prelims usualy does not care too much about colors or deisgns of stand in figures, but if it had tall legs it wouldn't be Bolg. Yeah it's kindof painfull having to rely on others descriptions of what is basically a sketch.

The info from bridge direct is recent yes, but its not like it was an announcment. They had not been talking about Bolg since the toy fair in february. Obviously its kindof an either or situation. I hope we get "classic" Bolg though. I'd rather the set includes Bolg and Beorn, than Azog and Beorn. Question, is there any chanse the figure int he AMBUSH set is Bolg? "some soldier" could be Bolg couldn't it? He is pretty armored up. That would be idea if he's not in battle set.

Tangled is a fantastic movie, im really interested to see this set aswell. Even if i don't intend to buy this theme, its lways fun to see how lisences translates into lego. Wonder if we'll get the Chameleon(?)

It would look a whole lot more classy and less cluttered/childish if you replaced the water background with a solider super dark color. That water texture is the straw that breaks the camels back when it comes to making it look overdesigned forcing the caribbean/pirate theme far too much.

Well it's the cartoon we complain about. Classic spiderman comic designs are better than USM cartoon designs usually.

Retailers saw the cataogue quite some time ago when they put in their orders for sets to sell. Oh and remember the information about Bolg potentially is outdated, remember bridge direct will not release a Bolg action figure this fall, due to changes in the movie.

With 3 elves in the elf army, I think maybe 2 of them are sentinels and 1 woodland guard? And the ambush set has a soldier from either rivendell or lothlorien? And the orcs in the elf army would be gundabad orcs (tribal style) while the ambush orcs would be dol guldur (armored) ? Atleast that is the optimal hope x] May the pictures come soon so wild speculation can end!

with only 4 sets alot of slots won't get filled. It's easier to impress with a range of nicely designed sets if you dont have to make soemthing out of so few pieces.

Anyone overall kindof dissapoined by the marvel superheroes theme? when it was announced it had all the promise, but it's ended up as a tv series lisence with all kindof "meh" sets, and weird versions of the minifigures? Atleast the quinjet and jeep were good.

For me brickset uses £, what was mentioned in here was €, and what was asked about was $

Compare them to whatever shelob and uruk hai army cost in dollars. And keep in mind you obviously get more pices than you'd get for a $12 set... and with a $12 set you'd prpably only get 2 figs. a preliminary Beorn using a red dwarven beard as placeholder could also be the case... This characther was using long legs, wich azog does not, and Bolg would be the same height as azog.

The info we have seen around for weeks indicates that the smallest set is a 20-something dollar set. BUT if it's jsut 3 figs and a rock, 13 dollar might be a better price. How great this wave is depends on how many of the elves/orcs are new deisgns x] the first hobbit wave was pretty great with 13 dwarves!

That would be in the 213 thread, but the conversation started here so its natural to keep it going here aswell. SO far the discussion around the info has been the deepest here so redoing it over at another place seems abit shallow. But sure.

That is not at all how he looks in the movie. that was jsut the design games workshop made up when they made figures not really based on the movies.

Thats kindof infuriating ig they dont make Thor sets.. The poster is an ad for the video game so hopefully the designs will show up in that.

Hopefully lego makes his beard tan, not grey, wich suspect and fear they will do. It is. Bolg is the torturer of dol guldur. (or was, who knows whats going on anymore)
