Well, fortress assults is a well liked thing when it comes to lego sets, and it's going to be a big part of the movie. It also leads to alot of NEW minifigures, instead of a redressed Bilbo and a load of dwarves. We've known about dol guldur stuff since before the first trailer though. And we've seen the fortress in AUJ movie and DOS trailer. Lego will make smaug if they can do it well and there is a demand, but for no no kids really know or like smaug cause they havent REALLY seen him yet.

If thats the case, do you think lego will do any catching up next year? by then they should know pretty well the contents of the first 2 movies and will know whats left over for the 3rd one.8 sets december 2014 4 of them being TABA and the rest being from DOS and AUJ ?? The excitment SHOULD be highest for the last film in the trilogy right?? Either way it's weird that they made less sets for 2013 seeing as the fanbase should have grown over the last year. Maybe we'll be lucky if we get TABA sets at all?

With only four sets now, they got planty of space and time to release him later if they want to. Merchandise partners might not even have gotten refrence photos of all of him yet. Bridge direct(they make the action figs right?) has said specifically that they will make a smaug, but that it proapbly wont happen in 2013

october, there was that toys r us poter that got released early. then there was new york comic con. Well propably get a movie trailer before any more set pictures.

Well since the fact that its only 4 sets is real, then I would guess the set names/descriptions we got are real aswell, so no Smaug this december.

Yes, i think every theme these days comes with a poster or some pages in the instructions listing all the minifigs with checkboxes next to them and where to find them. So theres certainly 'game' to be had collecting them from legos pov.

Thats good, i thought it would be later in 2014 cause new licensed themes are usualy summer. But I wasn't sure with this theme.

I hope you understand that if simpsons ends up as collectable minifigs, then thats it's own thing, and not supposed to be the continuation of the non lisenced ones. It would be collectable simpsons minifigures wave 1. Either way i do not think this is the case. People jumped on the CMF simpsons, simply cause the minifigures has been the only thing commented on fom the theme.

Well the battle still goes on when bilbo is knocked out, do not expect PJ to skip a massive battle ;)

Dc and marvel are being treated as individuals. Lego pays marvel for the lisence and can do as they please with it within the agreements they have. Its more right from lego's side to spread the love for fans on both sided of the dc/marvel fence.

Im gonna say yes and no, the videogame has like EVERYBODY in them so almsot any new characther would be characthers already seen in the game.

Totally understandable. Lego should put screens in stores with that little cg video they have retelling the story. If theres no lotr sets next year maybe we can get a full 6+ sets for the hobbit! And who know maybe because it doesent sell much lego chouse to hold back some of its sets from this year and will release another small wave with those next year.

The branding is irrelewant they are using direct designs from the show, both the car and batman are based of the show completely.

yeah, saw that earlier, Lego is still going to show off sets at some point, but it's annoying we no longer have an assumed date for it. Last year we got that toys r us poster with all the set images before nycc time I think.

Thats for the videogame, the arkham game and the lego game is released by the same publisher. As i said the figures might be somewhat inspired by the game, as all figs are generaly inspired by something. but lego have never made any figs that are from the game, how tdkr batman or beware the batman figs have been made. and I do not thing it will ever happen.

Yeah not gonna happen, sleepyhead bart would not get approved at all, lego are making the iconic design not converting them into "how they would have looked if"

The elven outpost should feature atleast 1of the golden armored elves seen getting slaugthered in the trailer. http://www-images.theonering.org/torwp/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/thdos-trailer01-0481.jpgI just hope the orcs in this set are new prints. they can reuse the goblin legs no problem though! again IF they follow the uruk hai army formula of 6 minifigures then maybe: Azog + 2 generic orcs, 2 armored elves + 1 woodland guard

3 seems most likely, but for examle the 19$ harry potter set got 5 minifigures

If the Elrond/ambush set is about Elrond doing an ambush, would it be fair to assume there would be another elf soldier with him and then 1 bad guy? 3 figs is the norm in 19 $/£ sets right? Could this be our chanse at a Rivendell guard/soldier !! ? Either way it's interesting it seems we'll end up with 3 diferent Erond figures overall. It could also be that whoever made up this new list mistook Thranduil for Elrond, one could hope!

Well the only change here, seems to be that "dol guldur ambush" wich i assumed to be Orcs(or evil things) ambushed the good guys, now it seems it's Elrond who ambush someone else at dol guldor. If these names/descriptions are correct then that will kindof confirm elrond as part of dol guldur attack. (wich is the case in the book but the movie ahs said nothing of this yet) Hmm hope we still get Radagast somewhere. The naming would make it so "dol guldur" is the main fortress like helms deep, and Elrond Battle is the "uruk hai army" add on.

Well, they could make more money from just minifigs, cause more people buy them.

I accepted movie Azog more after he became a minifigure. Not quite sure how that works, but it did.
