It would be hard to make a satisfactory set based on beard (huge) house in a small set. And all the erebor actin involves smaug so thats a no-go in a small set. If the soldier-guy in the ambush set is unique it's propably a better deal than getting the dwarves over again. And alot of people seem to lvoe cheap sets with orcs and soldiers in them.

Propably, but since it is preliminary it could be any minifigure standing in for this orc. and bolg has white arms, legs and face the same way azog does. That said, if its a fully white azog orc on the minifig index then its another story certainly.

Eh I dont think he's forgotten, I just find the main normal minifigs to be more important. Smaug will propably get a set at some point. Maybe they'll do a Erebor set that encompasses multiple story points. I think bear-Beorn might need a new mold to do him justice, the head mold in particular

Wich ones are you thinking about? If the minifigs in these sets are the ones we assume they are I can see we're overall "missing": Mains: Galadriel, Dain Ironfoot, Azog (despite everything I assume we get Bolg cause: Beorn vs Bolg round 1, would set things up for bo5a..) Sidekicks: Alfrid, Lindir, Fimbul What would you have traded the small Dol guldur set for?

Boy he would be a weird figure to be the HERO of a set with 2 orcs. @Kris Kelvin, the 'soldier' in the ambush set, what kind of equipment does he have? weapon, armor, cape, helmet? What general colors is he?

I wonder if there will be NEW bats in Dol guldur set. I do hope beorn uses the long legs, I think theya re really ccool, casue they keep with lego traditions completly.

Well the utpost set would be the mirkwood elves wich i dont think will interfere with dol guldur. It should be the rivendell or lothlorien elves that fight at dol guldur, remember Galadirle has 'promised' to help Gandalf when his in a pinch, sending an army would fullfill that. The Ambush set propably includes Elrond, Since lego want to put A 'hero' figure in all sets. if not, then maybe its a galhadrim or rivendell soldier. Will be interesting to see if we get pictures this weekend. on saturday it's a year since we got pictures for AUJ. It does, But I never imagined azog would show up at dol guldur for a battle. Lego might be joining events into 1 set. Only 6 figs in biggest set sounds like they could have thrown in another orc.

And i hope there are some new orc designs.. Was there no Azog? Any chasne that "some kind of nazgul" is the necromancer?

Certainly they have embargos, but I would imagine some of that was lifted before NYCC. If there indeed is a set called something lke elven outpost we've seen that in both trailers by now.

Well the 3 rumored set names only sounds like only gandalf will be reused.

There is no reason (that I see) for lego not to send out pix to media as they do when they attend comic con. The hobbit action figures are due to be released the 15th october, so I guess hobbit marchandise embargo would have been lifted by then and freeing lego to do as they please with regards to promotion.

I generaly only distinguish between what they are wearing, not their weapon. 1-Tauriels group of woodland guards pic Guards the forest. 2-The army soldiers (infantry?) what we see in the prologue +vlog 11. pic Thranduils attack force 3-The sentinels, these are the ones with the shields and the ones getting attacke by Azog. they are seen standing around guarding things (throne room, dungeons, outpost) pic Royal guard seems an fitting name for them sure. ^I think the reason some look more golden and other more white is due to shine, you can see the shields changing from orange to white in the trailer. Both do wear the same helmets with what you call antlers. Both 2 and 3 use the same sword I'm sure DOS sets should give us number 1 and 3. and number 2 is bound to appear in sets for the 3rd film. I used to think this minifig was part of the woodland guard, but Im not so sure anymore. His shoulder armor/decoration isn't right, he shouldn't have a belt and he's lacking the "corset" He wears the same belt as Galion (the butler for Thranduil) So it might be that this is some kind of worker or servant elf. I wouldnt put it past lego to give random elf more action that he should x]

Nah he looks like a cross btween the cowardly lion and Hercules from the 90's(?) tv show! I do think he looks better in the spy pic, the promotional image makes him look kinda weird.

If they change him, he proapbly is another CGI monstrosity... Bolg always looked like Azog with hair and armor though! Heres Beorn, tho We propably won't see him in any sets this year.

Uh oh! More trouble in camp hobbit. The action figure of Bolg announced at toy fair is NOT being released this year due to changes in the movie, I wonder if this has affected the lego sets aswell, If the movie has changed the design of bolg, I hope lego are too late for changing it and will release the design we've already seen, because it's fantastic! I would assume Bolg would have been in one of the 2(?) Dol guldur sets we know of, so it shouldn't be the case that a 5th set was canned after movie changes... right? action figure company quote: "The 6" scale Bolg you saw at Toy Fair will not be available this Fall. The Bridge develops and plan many months ahead of time, all while trying to stay true to the source material. However, during the creative process of filmmaking, characters may change and so our toy program adapts accordingly to reflect the final vision of the film."

Just have some patience, in less than 2 weeks we should have pictures, like the 8th or 9th october. Just cause lego doesen't go to comic con doesent mean they don't want media coverage!

It is part of flashback: there is no snow, the city is not ruined yet, the dead guards are are the style of dale and the "clip" has the same color/style of the prologue. They covered the destruction of dale in AUJ yes, but they did not cover any history for the black arrow. 100% what we see in the trailer is a flashback of the first time smaug attacked dale.

How does that make sense though? Smaug is the "punchline" of both the trailers. And even if he doesent die in the movie he still get the whole scene talking to bilbo + action with the dwarves, And lego has already covered Laketown with a set. I believe we're not getting a smaug set (yet) is cause lego has not had available final refrence artwork for Smaug in time. Lego can fudge sets from concept art, but when it comes to someone as supposedly important as smaug that might not be a good idea, on top of that they need to create new molds for him wich takes time and commitment. The Dale content with the balista in the trailer is a flashback (more prologue content essentialy) The guy shooting the arrow is a characther from the book.

Well PJ is propably combining 2 events, the necromancer being driven out of dol guldur by the white council, and the events from lotr book where Galadriell take down the fortress. I might get things mixed around since i never ready the book, but during the events of lotr Lothlorien is batteling orcs from dol guldur.
