More DOS merchandise is popping up, this here includes a non-leaked picture of Beorn for instance. Really hope lego reveals something on wednesday or this week atleast.

The the carrock is not a good lego set, it's jsut a rock/mountain, "PJifying" might drive down sales with hardcore tolkien fans, but few of them area buying the sets anyways, the "pjifying" makes the sets more interesting to general audiences.

But they have run out of book-related scenes to make sets of, mirkwood is covered, thranduil's palce is covered, laketown is covered, That leaves Beorn palce wich is way too big to make a cool set of, and it leaves smaug stuff wich proaplby means a big dragon mold and not much scenery. I'd much rather they made the sets they did wich ends up giving us alot more interesting minifigures. Wich most of them are from the book (or books) Bag end was a very specific situation where it had gotten so much exposure in all the films.

The simpsos does have big heads and small shoudlers, so they make sense with that big heads. It looks better when you see its at otner angles/3d and with their proper clothes it should look pretty good.

I'm sure lego could get some mainstream press by giving some media outlet the "exclusive first look" or something. I don't see why they wouldn't want some free marketing outside of just having the pictues show up in online stores. Either way all we want is to see the pictures asap

I think LEGO wants to make atleast soemthing out of the reveal of the sets, not jsut releasing them to retailers. So I assume sometime before every retailer gets them, lego will send them out to news sites or AFOL communities.

I think it was last year that they started making people with the catalogue sign NDA's, Not that anyone was allowed to show the catalogue before that either.

I dont think WB or weta is there, the one ring.net is. But lego does not need the reveal to be at comic con, usually the important part is that they send it out to online news sites, variety.com etc.

Ugh nevermind, seems thats not the case. The hobbit site was down for me, but turned out it was just my link, I thought it would of upddated. Update, now the site really is down.

Yeah, the topic turns into a messy mush of crisscrossing comments, The best would be Making a thread for each of the sets seperatey, would make for mucch cleaner conversation. If the are released at the same time. But the mod's never seem to keen on multiple topics.

Last year they had white background images of all the sets, but on their website they showed of the gollum set first, and then 1 set each week after. With the full images, functions, minifig lineup and designer video.

I buildt the set in LDD from all available photos online.. Aprox: main house is: 240 the boat is: 81 the small house: 108

I think it's worth saying again that 10th october last year was when we got images, and by the 11th I think they started revealing proper pictures on their website. This boxart indicates that atleast the overall reveal piriod has started x]
