For some reason lego put the 'triangle' under the statue the wrong way around.

It might be a case of getting used to it. Also when we see the whole series of figures together it might seem more normal.

The stylized pix of the lake town set are up on the lego site.

It is during the prologue when smaug is attacking Dale. Just the same few seconds we see in the dos trailers. if it is Girion we have no confirmation on but it propably is acording to people whose read the books. http://www-images.th...ailer02-083.jpg

It's not Bard it's Girion, and its from Smaugs first meeting with Dale, You see this in the EE and propably in an extended flashback in DOS:

Why do they not do a better job printing thranduil's crown closer to his face...

Thanks for the pictures! ncie to see both Thranduil and Radagast has normal faces. Why do they cut off the back points of Thranduil's crown in half the pictures he's in though?

Is the Ent in Orthanc Supposed to be Treebeard?
deskp replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It simply is not treebeard. Does not look like him AND hes not named that. As for Gwahir to all but a few that eagle is never named in the movie. -
Um, no they are not. A normal lego knife looks way better for her http://i.ebayimg.com/t/NEW-Lego-Ninjago-Ninja-Gold-BOWIE-KNIFE-Dagger-Weapon-/00/$(KGrHqZ,!lQE1F6J!Mg-BNY!BFMUNQ~~_35.JPG

Nope, I don't think so. the "glow" around is jstu to make him stand out from the black brackground and mimic that surge in the movie.

In the fiction sure, But for the movie making each outfit is very much designed specifically for each dwarf.

The company of dwarves doesent wear big armor pieces. Here you see Fili and Kili in armor, here and here Thorin in armor. Here Dwalin in armor.

I think those are not prelims, well the giant stamp says so, but I belive it'f final images simply watermarked so people wont share them. The new molds and the printing are in the pictures so no reason to belive they're not final.
-
You should note that the 'armor' they get in the movie is as specificly designed for each dwarf as their normal clothes. We have already seen Thorin, Fili, Kili and Dwalin's "armored" outfits from the movie.

Next year we need, army elves, army dwarves, army orcs, Dain Ironfoot, Bolg, and perhaps laketown guys. Thats 6 Highly needed new figures. This year we got 11 new figures total, if thats the case next year aswell, there are 6-7 left after we get what I think is essential new figs. That 'leaves room' forr Armored Thorin, armore Fili, armored Kili, new Bilbo, Armored Thranduil(?) armored Bard(?) However in the first wave of the hobbit we got 25 new figures. Wich would be fantastic if we got next year aswell. As for new molds, first year had 13, this year has 6, and I can see next year needing 5.

Poor Thranduil, the trick they did with his torso obviosly isnt soemthing they can d with the arms, so he deserves a change of arms, maybe to perl grey or something more fitting.

The uruk hai already got the best lego representation, they do not deserve another new mold.
-
On the picture there is alot of grey and alot of brown, together they end up looking like dark tan. On the set picture its brown and tans. If anything I think lego's version isnt brown enough.

Darth Malgus cape is ideal for the elves, Its also slimmer so it looks more right.

Interesting, from the recent photo of Beorn and gandalf next to each other, Beorn is only a head taller than Gandalf. This explains why lego didn't use the long legs, seeing as he's not THAT much taller. BUT the long legs would have added nearly the exact same height difference that is displayed in the movie so the long legs would have been a fantastic and correct solotion.

He if its happening then he's working on that too most likely, lego operates in teams, all the middle earth stuff is deisgned by the same group.

They are not prototypes, they are perhaps bad prints.
