  1. Wait... wait a second... Bart Simpson.... Skateboard... Ok Series 13 will be the Simpsons, they have an excuse to produce ANOTHER skater.
  2. I totally agree with this. Also, I believe that Panda Suit Guy is in S12, and also a Sculptor (like Michelangelo in the trailer) so they could naturally fit the series as if they were a normal wave. Furthermore, I am mostly convinced that the CMF are taken IN the movie more than the CMF are taken FROM the movie. I agree with S13 if they are Simpsons, totally, but not on S12 and S14, mostly because... ...if this is true, I will be TOTALLY excited from S14 more than previous series. My favourite one still remains S9 with the Knight, Cyclops, Forest Maiden ... a very complete army building (I also bought a lot of alien avengers, tho).
  3. Well if they compare it to the Olympic sets, maybe we STILL stand a chance that they won't replace CMF series 13. If they will replace with Simpsons, Lego will cut off its nose to spite its face, really.
  4. A question actually came to my mind: usually these minifigures are released on early January but the movie is coming out Feb 7, do you think they will launch them later? I mean, if they will be sold in February, they will be shifting S13 and S14 one month later...or not?
  5. 5 box worth of packs already checked, 6 tikis are a very GOOD number. Thery were 10, some must have been already hoarded...
  6. No, there are 6 of them in the box, so everyone think they can get it whenever they want. I usually take approx 5 secs per feel, so a whole box for me it's not an hour, but no more than 6 7 minutes... and here it is actually forbidden to feel packet at home.
  7. Well the hype is over, it's been out since 2 to 3 weeks...
  8. I totally agree, but since they would be a bargain by today's standards why don't they re-sell something similar?
  9. I am very uncided about this series. -Barbarian: why two swords, instead of a big one, or a big axe? Why the hair isn't fitting well the head? -Lady Robot... bah -TIki Warrior: why the mask in rubber?!?!? Why just two??!?!? -Waitress: why YELLOW? -Scarecrow: why just two?!? -Welder: they could have done lift-up mask ... :( and 6 per box are too many... -Gingerbread man: a cup? I would have provided him a sugar cane... Ok for me: Evil Mech, Grandma, Pretzel Girl, Elf, Scientist, Bobby, Yeti, Jazz Musician, Climber. I'm too much sorry for the fact this seem to be the last "standard" series...
  10. Yeah! I'm the same way with you! I really miss those sets though I am in the same themes you are now. But why don't they do http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6251-1 or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6103-1 ... :cry_sad: :cry_sad: any more? You are pretty right, but to me it seems like they tried to merge the road signals AND the minifigures. That's however an excellent set to me.
  11. Er... no. I just wanted to point out that they were far lesser pirates, as also the OP noted btw. Yours is know as the straw man fallacy. And since you seem to like fallacies, the OP was guilty of the Cherry Picking fallacy. So seems like you weren't pay much attention. Btw I'll value Rick's advice and stop this argument right now. So back on topic: my 2p. I believe they will be in "Friends" scala, and I am really looking forward male characters in the mini doll style to see how they will come. I also think this license will rock and kick Megabloks a little more out, and that there will be re usable parts for mocs of great interest.
  12. Yes it does. Yes I have Oh my... Yes I do... I am sorting them these days because I really felt guilty... but it's taking too much time... Actually I'm dismembering them after time I don't touch them. I have the honesty to admit to myself that I won't complete them. I keep everything but the plastic bags. Absolutely. Luckily enough I didn't reach this step... but... hell... I'm scared...
  13. Hello, I just was wondering... am I the only one who bought tons of those sets with 6 or 5 minifigures in them? City, Space, Castle and Pirates... they were FANTASTIC! I really miss a lot those sets. Why doesn't Lego produce them any more? Who would like to have them back? Battlepacks do not reach all countries, and actually they are the closest thing to those sets... but not exactly same thing. So... comments?
  14. Maybe or maybe not. My story is even different: I was 10 so I didn't even recognize that the "female pirate" was a female. I didn't pay too much attention to the decoration of the torso and I thought he was a male with big lips. I have plaied for years with female players treating them as males. I wonder how many other people did the same stuff. But also, I bought a lot of minifigures sets, the fabolous one they did in the past (6 pirates, 6 citizens, 6 castle, 6 space... THOSE were the sets...)... now I'm opening a thread for that ... by the way I had the use to part them and pickup pieces with my two brothers. The ones that were left for last were always girls' hairs, girls decorated faces and girls torsoes. Actually when I feel the CMF bags for little kids, if males, nobody wants female minifigures. Here's another story you might want to find interesting. Some time ago, it was Series 6, a boy bought a random pack and it was a Flamenco Dancer. He was so sad that I bought him the pack and I felt a minotaur for him. That's it. I am so full of examples like that that I am really convinced that, at least here, things work like that: boy don't like female minifigures or they have less use for them. So you think it's culture, but I have some small evidence that it's not. Let's take how many unsold sets among ninjago 2011 are still on bricklink. Kai... 21 Zane...18 Sensei Wu... 57 Cole.. 93 Nya... 149 No surprise that Nya has sold less than her male counterparts. That's because boys don't like female minifigs, or at least the majority of them doesn't.
  15. I am very well award of pirates, I can name dozens of them, and never heard of the two you named. Even the fact that you liked female minifigures leads me to think that you are a very rare case, sorry, I can't count you on statitistics... I count boys and girls I usually sell or give lego to.
  16. I would have shifted the medic and the paramedic genders, that would have fit better. I am not pointing out that the people concerned about the representation of women in Lego are ridicolous, I just believe they are creating a problem that doesn't exist. Again, already told elsewhere, if I recall my toys from childhood were: Lego, Masters of the Universe, Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters. In over thirty years of life I never heard someone complaining that all characters from He-Man were male (except Sorceress), that 4 out of 4 of the Ghostbusters and same for the Ninja Turtles. Seems nowadays that scripts for comics or movies need always girls, gays, black people, asiatic people... as if their lack would result in sexism or racism. This IS already sexist and racist, filling gaps with black/asian/females/gay because we want to look nice and giving equal opportunities. The world will be really swept off racist and sexist scum when people would not even BOTHER if a lego sets has all males, all females, if a movie portraits the 4 hero all gays, all straight, all women, all men, all asian, all caucasic, all black, all indians... I mean... when people will stop bothering it will mean that we grew as a race and we made a step over. As long as people keep counting how many males, females, gays, straights, lesbians, blacks, asians, mexicans (...) are in a certain set of characters, we will stay in the middle age. Just my 2p.
  17. I want to add two more lines to summarize it: I find ridicolous that Lego should avoid doing Disney princesses because they are supposedly mysoginistic, that they should put more female characters in their sets because our children must learn that females do exist (I bet they have eyes on their own to understand this) and that Lego should put female leaders in factions. I am mostly sure that boys would just ignore those minifigures or have little play for it. I am mostly sure that NYA ha sold VERY LESS than the other ninjago minifigure. I found examples on sweets vs vegetables absolutely not fitting and I find it stupid that I have to point stuff like: I can tell trillions of examples, the first that comes to my mind is the Transformers movie. TRANSFORMERS ARE A TOY, so I would supposedly take a kid seeing such movie, for having the boobs and butt of Megan Fox spreaded all over? What?!!? And you complain about Lego doing Disney Princesses? This can't be serious. I repeat, I sell toys, and I know what I am talking about. I just tell, say, and repeat that boys will like male minifigures. That's it. Then we can politely discuss about the fact: "Should we force them to play with female miniifigures?" This is a whole completely different case. Provided you understand that boys will like more male minifigures, we can start from this point over and discuss the fact wheter is right or wrong to force them to play with female minifigures, to place a female police chief in their fantasy imaginary town and so on. It has been discussed for years if it was right to force a lefty boy to use the right hand, and now they say we don't have to force him. So following the very same rule I don't believe it's right to force a kid to play with female minifigures. That's my point of view and I don't think anybody can tell me I'm wrong.
  18. Including the bad guys. But not an hint at hit? Wrong. Nya, Pippin Reed, etc... Depicting the real world. And mostly wrong. Name a MALE medical personnel in the CMF series, whereas the nurse and the surgeon are FEMALE. Do this surprises you for a MALE toy? Probably you are not reading what I wrote. I am a little bit tired in explaining this, but adults are mostly biased and can't see with the eyes of a child. I CLEARLY remember when I was a child I disliked and found USELESS most of the female minifigures. As an adult I find a use for them, but as a kid I really though "Hey what the heck... another female minifigure? I mean, I just bought the Black Seas Barracuda, what's a FEMALE PIRATE doing here? They could have made another cool pirate, what a waste of plastic". And actually that was it, name famous female pirates that jusitfy them into a lego set, I dare you. Lego is ALWAYS siding with feminist as far as the points that I just cited, mostly in the minifigure book, all the rest are conjectures and ideas, on the minifigure book they unveil their feminist (sexist) side written down black on white, you can't miss it or can't be misunderstood. That's it, clear, easy. They are so siding with feminists that they have to insert female characters even if they know that they are going AGAINST their selling market. Picture this: very same set, same pieces, same things, one from Lego, one from Mega Bloks, except: LEGO has 1 female minifigure swapped with MegaBloks which has the same number of minifigures, but all males. Which one will the random boy buy? The mega bloks one. So lego is already siding with feminists! I can go on forever on this topic, you seem mostly all failing to understand that lego is MAINLY a male toy. You do not understand this because most of you is convinced, wrongly, that there are no male and female toys, that our brains are the same (which is totally a scientific heresy). Plus all your five examples say the very same thing: most minifigures are male, most important roles are male. WOW! I'm amazed! I never thought that a MALE toy would have portraited mostly MALE figures. Do you happen to complain at the "Masters of the Universe" because they only hade Sorceress as a female character? Do you happen to complain at the Ghostbusters because they are, well, four and 100% male? Do you happen to complain at Ninja Turtles because... well among 4 turtles they could have make a female one... yet they didn't. I recalled 3 of my best toys from my childhood and whassup, all male characters... I think you should take it easier, really, you wouldn't end complaining over and over with toy companies if you didn't accept that boys prefere male characters and girls prefere female characters.
  19. Alas seems series 13 would be the simpsons...
  20. This shows clearly that they ran out the usual CMF and it's their downfall... when something needs a big change (and that's one) it's because it doesn't work any more. Explain then why they aren't sold in northern europe if this is such a mainstream theme...
  21. Did you read the rumour that series 13 will NOT be a real series of minifigures, just a "simpsons" franchise? If that's not the downfall of CMF, I'm really really curious to learn about what's this.
  22. I hope the rumour of Simpons in CMF 13 is wrong for two reasons: 1 - If they do not make simpsons sets, I'm not going to buy them. 2 - If they cancel the CMF into licensed ones, thus INCREASING the price for them, im' not going to buy them. I already said that CMF were going to be cancelled and this if true would be a proof. CMF Simpsons are NOT CMF to me.
  23. I don't know, seems Lego have decided that only women are good for doctors/nurses ...
