  1. Three points: A) Indeed you can say they did a poor job. You can say anything you want. Even that Earth is a disc holded by four elefants standing on a giant turtle. B) Really funny that you marked on bold anything BUT the part in which they say that ears longness changes author by author so that there's no canon apart knowing that in the western world they are short, like Lego one, or LOTR movie, and in mangas they're long. C) Be serious, Wikipedia is no source. As long as you link me something where I can go and change the definitions to suit my ideas, that won't make any sense to me. Wikipedia started as a good project, but sinked like the Titanic, 99% of the pages are non neutral or filled with wrong informations. I can tell, I was a wikipedian too, years ago, and I left because if a group of people, large in number, wants to overwrite real facts with their own version, they win but that doesn't mean that there's reality in their words. However, I spent 15 years playing D&D and I will go on, and that's really funny of you that you tell me this HERE, a place where I can say that I spent 28 years after LEGOs and I will go on. By the way, just a note. Since you were the only one complaining about the elf, two are the cases here. Either you are enlighted by some Elf God and you are the only one who really knows Elves around, or you should think to fly lower. My girlfriend accidentally saw the pic and said "They made a Lego-Legolas!" and I am really looking forward to get lots of it because it fits fantasy era actually more than dwarves or orcs. Contradicts what I said? Where? And just to end it up: Fan's interpretation of an elf, found in .1 secs on google image: Since I use to play LARP since 12 years too, this is what elves look around by ever: http://maskworld.scene7.com/is/image/maskworld/10032-elf-elfen-ears-elves-ears-ohren?$fullsize$ See the ears? Short ears, as we are used elves are. If you think elves are this: http://kyuubi.k.y.pic.centerblog.net/b7sddrf6.jpg you are wrong way, and you show you are actually confusing actual fantasy with final fantasy... Fantasy Elves as we meant them were created by JRR Tolkien, and they have short leaf-shaped ear and they are not all that graceful since they divide in various kinds. Already said that, but you probably missed it up..
  2. Well, I read incredible balance within enthusiastic and disappointed comments. My thoughts: Hawaii Girl: I just like the skirt, torso is similar to Islanders and why should she carry maracas? 6 Chief: In every serie there is some which TLC has already done in the past. I hope the spear isn't final. 5 Samurai: As for the Ninja in serie 1, I already own some of this stuff. Nice head print, though. 5.5 Adventure Pilot: Unlike the others, it seems classical backpack to me. Really dislike this minifig. 4.5 Fisherman: It really surprised me! Nice beard! Really a good one, even if don't like the whole fishing stuff. 8 Cyborg: I don't like the choice to have it in the same series as the alien. I don't see it very well in the picture, but the cyborg idea doesn't appeal me that much. 5.5 Snowboader: I am not that much into female minifigs or sports minifigs, btw this one looks very detailed. 5.5 Driver: I have tons of these. At least, decent hairpiece. 5 Rapper: Very good character, funny Kanie West glasses, 6.5 Elf: My absolute favourite character, possibly the best amongst the whole 3 series. 10 Sumo Guy: I can't believe he has no details. Nausi says he has, so let's believe him. BTW not very good after the karateka. 5 Alien: I agree with those who didn't appreciate the choice to recycle Squidtron's head, it is really cheap. 5 Mummy: Very very fine, I hope that the brown scorpion will help me to identify this minifig as I want tons of this. 9 Tennis Player: Same as the snowboarder, but possibly less interesting. 5 Baseball Player: I love that bat. And the minifig looks good. Too bad TLC is focusing around sports... 6 Gorilla: I expected a printed face instead of this head mold. By the way, if there's an head under the mask it's a 7 for me, otherwise just a 6 When it came to series 2, there were 6 minifigures I couldn't wait for. This time, just 4... unless they make a different head for the alien... but the Elf is so great and I can't wait to see if the ears are part of the hairpiece or not.
  3. I couldn't disagree more than that, and take it from a 15 years experienced D&D player. Elves do not carry NOTICEABLE ears, apart from japanese reinterpretation. And not all elves are graceful, if you take it from LOTR, which is everyone's source for elves, Noldor are not rough, but nor that graceful indeed! I just keep on looking at that picture because TLC couldn't make a better Elf, I think, and I was really really surprised by your comment.
  4. Nausi on this forum you say Elf has pointed ears, on another you say no. And you stated that he has Qui Gonn Jinn hair, which leave no room for ears to be seen. This is highly confusing, can you help us?
  5. Let's compare. In both lists: 1-Hawaiian Girl 2-Fisher 3-Snowboarder 4-Elf 5-Sumo Wrestler 6-Male Singer = Rapper 7-Alien 8-Mummy 9-Baseball Player 10-Gorilla The commas in the description don't help, so chief Mandschurin seem two different ones, one related to the native american, the other related to a Chinese warrior, which means NO SAMURAI since Mandschurins and samurais are quite different! 11-Native American Chief 12-Mandschurin Fighter OR Samurai Also racer is attached to snowboarder, but perhaps it referes to the famous Ferrari Driver they say. 13-Ferrari Racer Here come the differences. On the German site, 14 15 and 16 are: 14a - Athlete 15a - Adventure Pilot 16a - Cyborg where on Klaus-Dieter's 14b - Doctor / Surgeon 15b - Female Dancer 16b - Unknown (said to be an Artist somewhere) Please people correct me if I am somewhere wrong. Thanks.
  6. Ok, I adjusted my stats to the worse case, the one in which you get the commons first, the uncommons then and the rares as last. It becomes now considering $2 per minifig a total amount of $126.15 In the better case, the one in which you get the rares first, the uncommons then and the commons as last, it becomes total of $95.94 So, it is easy to see that if someone wants to complete the series, the easiest way is to buy in three people a box, which means 3 complete collections for 40$ each, which is more than halving the price.
  7. Well, I teach Math so that wasn't very difficult to me, to get one you pay 2$, to get the second you have 15 out of 16 to don't catch a double, and it's $2.13, to get the last one the average case is you have to buy 16 so it makes $32, and the others are in the midddle. BTW I will buy a box for the third wave with a friend of mine but I don't really think that it will be easy that three full collections will be available.
  8. If you are alone in doing this collection, the average price you must think to spend in a single serie if there are no barcodes and you can't guess the package by feeling it is: for 2€ or 2$ per minifigure, you have to spend $/€ 108,18 to have the average chance to get all the minifigures, which means that you will owe the 16 ones + 38 doubles, and possibly there will be some minifig you will have 6x or 7x.
  9. Well, to be honest I agree with LEGO's policy. Tough I browse everyday the net to find if some pictures are revealed, I find right to wait until the LEGO heads decide it's time to go. By the way, I just wanted to point out that in the first set of pictures the Series 2 Mexican wasn't wearing a Sombrero. If you can recall, he was wearing a Green Minifigs Series 1 Cowboy's hat. So maybe since there are 3 months and a half left, they are still in concept phase and production has not yet started so maybe we can have changes on the minifigs' specs.
