  1. I could be swayed in my views by the introduction of transparent panels. That would be a great compromise between the two viewpoints.
  2. Thanks for the link. I’d not seen this version of a balancing setup. It’ll be interesting to see how it performs in comparison to gyro sensor. I’m not able to check the programming right now. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some help soon.
  3. I'm old school in my thoughts on this. I prefer the open style with the technical elements of the build visible. 853 Car Chassis is still one of my favourite display models. It's unmistakably Lego, not pretending to be anything else, and over the years has elicited more interest and questions than any other set or MOC that I've displayed. The panel era has produced great models and MOC's, which I really enjoy and admire. However, they are becoming more akin to creator or model team, where looks take over from function.
  4. I second the comments of @Erik Leppen, regarding prizes. I'm not sure that they are the main driver for people entering EB contests.
  5. Any year with the Claas featuring would be hard to beat, I agree. Nostalgia won over for me though, with 1977
  6. I'd love to know if you got it all connected correctly the first time
  7. That depends ... tap or bottled? @ColletArrow Favourite other theme would be Architecture or Modulars. Best year of technic? Now that is a tricky one. I think I'll go for 1977, as that is when it all started for me, and the theme.
  8. I think a smaller scale contest with a relatively short timescale would be good. This would also fit with the calendars of those who are home for a few weeks only.
  9. Google translate won't be of much use then We will rely on your selected highlights, thank you.
  10. @Aventador2004 Firstly, aren't you under age to be in the pub? In answer to your questions: How much does lego control your life? Not very much at all. do you want a White Christmas this year? Love the snow but, its unlikely to happen. Are there going to be lego boxes under the tree? Most likely there will be one or two. Though probably little for me. Do you do anything special with legos during Christmas? We build a Christmas scene based around the seasonal sets, with a quirky twist which varies year to year. This year is a Hawaii theme ... don't ask! And last, what is your favorite color of technic? I have no real favourite. I do dislike that there is so much yellow
  11. It sounds like the interview could be a good insight into the world of a Technic Designer. Do you have a link to a web page with the interview? I'm not sure how Google translate will handle it but, it'd be nice to give it a go :)
  12. @dewzxcs do you have an photo of the robot you are trying to program? Your reference to the "segway" in your original post implies that the robot can balance. I'm not sure this is a function that your robot has.
  13. I applaud your bravery in not colour coding the tubing
  14. @rathodsandeep the box image says 83 cm (32 in) so, I'd be tempted to go with that. Unless I've missed a comment from someone that has physically measured it as something else?
  15. In other words "I know I'm going to say something insulting but, I'd really rather not take any flack for it!"
  16. Nice PF conversion. You've managed to keep the looks and identity of the original set very well.
  17. You can stack the motor connectors on top of each other to add more motors. However, you need to make sure that the total load doesn't exceed the limit of the battery box, or the IR receiver. If this happens the setup will cut out to protect the equipment.
  18. Not my first thought. I would have looked at the authenticity of the parts first. Though, given it was a rated Bricklink dealer, I you would like to think fake parts were unlikely. Lego have been known to produce parts with varying shades of colours over the years. And black can be a difficult colour to obtain with some thermoplastics.
  19. I like the bike, though the comments from previous posts are valid, especially those about the illegal connections. There appear to be a number of these in the build which, given its one of your criteria for the design, is fair to comment on.
  20. I would like to propose that the AW 169 by @steph77 be added to the hall of fame. The design and execution of the functions is outstanding and truly representative of the fundamentals of the technic theme.
  21. This has turned out better than I'd hoped! The functions are implemented incredibly well HoF may well be relevant.
  22. Great to see this working ? The timing seems to require only 4 of the 8 buckets on the main wheel. Is this true to the original?
  23. This is the first time I've been aware of such a vehicle. Great MOC and I second @KikoTube with respect to the suspension. It looks like an innovative design
