Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Those are pretty neat! -
The roof looks good. I see the foundation for a great thatched roof in future builds. I like the ornament wood sculpting on top and your army looks strong.

Nocturnus Minichallenge II: The Grave of the Troll Wizard
Blufiji replied to a topic in Guilds of Historica
Your first attempt turned out well. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the base plate as a background for the shot. -
Thanks...I enjoyed making the textures, it was one of the most interesting parts of the build. Thanks Graham! Thanks Henjin, I'm glad you enjoyed the build! And Evenfall is still my fav..but I'm biased so... Thanks for coming over and leaving a comment..I'll do my best! Thanks Brick! Always try to think out of the box! Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the build! Build big Dubba! Your small builds are impressive so I'm sure we would all be blown away! Thank you Mpyro! Thanks BC! Your build a few weeks back crossing the desert was part of the inspiration. Thank you sir! I'm not even a Kali builder so that's a strong compliment, Thanks Mccoyed!

Can't wait Dubbagrim, can't wait!

Thanks Gothia! I do my best to try and make as natural looking foliage as possible. Thanks Titus! I think I'll have the Mitgardia build done around Christmas..with a few smaller builds peppered in between. Thanks Isundir! I think I understand why the Admins picked red and blue for the flag colors..it really does provide that contrast against the sands and greens. It's also the reason I added that bit of dark red in the back..as an eye catcher. Thanks man! Thanks Kai! I'm on it! Thanks Brick! Someone heard you and SK! I can get you a parts list and a demo together for you. It'll take a bit of time as this design of tree was the most complicated I think I have built..but the end result was worth it!

Thanks! Those trees were especially frustrating during construction. As far as master builder goes, I think like Soccer Kid said, it just takes time to earn it. Whenever it comes it comes, but what I really want is one of those shield thingies! Haha. Thanks Isaac! Always appreciated when you chime in sir! Also, I didn't want to do spoilers buuutttttt....there are two more to go. Mitgardia is up next!

Qar Riwa is a fortress located along one of the tributaries of the Qar-Arkhan River in southeast Kaliphlin, An ancient and weathered fortress originally under the control of the Desert King, he has allowed High Council soldiers to take over manning it. In the past, it was a outpost along the frontier of the Desert King's empire, but these days, it's main purpose is to guard and maintain the integrity of a spring that sits farther up the canyon, which serves as the start of the tributary. The waters provide irrigation to a few small villages nearby, which in turn serve as reliable rest stations in the vast sea of sand. Another build for GOh. I happily used a bit of Indian (Subcontinent) architecture influence in this one. Thanks for looking and happy building! More shots on my flickr if you guys are interested! Thanks for C&C

To answer your previous question, I think a fish market or a town hall etc etc would be a better fit, but that's just me.

A quint build, I like the wall color scheme with the touches of sand green.
-
The foliage is really nicely done, the broad leaved plants stack against the grass is a great look, And I like the trees, they have a natural look to them. I know there are some trees where the leaves go straight up so to me they look pretty real. Great Job!
-
Needs another tree! lol j/k but seriously this is easily your best build. I agree with what others are saying..particularly the grill bricks. I usually don't like those in castle builds as they just don't fit to me. The vegetation is solid, maybe a bit more grass here and there. One thing I love about this build is the quaintness of it. So peaceful.
-
You have developed that boulder wall technique and made it look exceptional. Also the color choice doesn't hurt either!
-
Nice, quaint little farm. I know someone above stated to texture the ground, but a second improvement would be to add depth to the ground as well. Mud, vegetable plots and the path are usually a bit sunk in compared to the surrounding grass. just that extra 1 or 2 studs of depth can really make your landscaping stand out more.

It's neat that nocty isn't the only one with a new non human race. I like how it seems the snow makes up the corners and the ice makes up the structure.

The Exetrius Saga (9): Festival of the Ranks (part 1)
Blufiji replied to Exetrius's topic in Guilds of Historica
That lady with the claw staff is tough as nails. The fact that she can lift that thing is something else. As others said, NPU with the doors to create the stands.- 14 replies

The pattern looks wonderful, and the fortress itself looks just as good.

The ruins look amazing. I love the lava flows and the texturing and as others have pointed out, the collapsing wall.
-
First pic doesn't work for me either, but no matter I've seen it on flickr. I am impressed with all of the details, the stalls, the hustle and bustle, and the architecture (pillars, windows, etc.). How did you do the palm trees?
-
Not only is this a story build, but it reminds me of the glory age of (my glory age rather) of lego castle. The transport has a great sense of play ability to it..but like it was stated above..those horses won't be around too much longer haha.
-
Nice wall and landscape.
-
I like how your builds always have that sense of classic play ability to them.

Great series of builds and building of a plot. I like your army by the way.
