  1. its looking a bit better. what you NEED to do though, is adjust position of the cockpit. It needs to go back further, the "tunnel" to the cockpit should be more at a 30 degree angle rather than a 45. Also, i am wondering why you are going in the direction of making the plates on top more like the UCS version, rather than the orginal model? I am impressed with how you got them to fit together well. but it seems unnecessary, Especially since you didnt change the outer edge structure. The original technique had captured the sloping dish shape better I thought.
  2. This looks oddly similar to Mike Psaikis Version he built, not sure if its deliberate or pure coincadence. though he never finished his, I would love to see how this turns out. you have a good start so far. I only have the 2010 version, and never really experimented with any other kind of structure support so I cannot offer too much advice. I am an avid fan of the Falcon, and will try and help with the aestetic appearance of it. Keep it up, I am looking forward to it being finished.
  3. Yes of course, that is the point of this discussion. I was asking how I can drive these gears in the same manner as Hisgens. Thanks for the resource. Though, I have looked at these and am still marveled by them. But I do not believe that his walker would be similar to mine in any way to wear it would help me. Several people have made lego versions of these! .
  4. Hello Technic Forum! I had a question for you experts out there. I have a MOC in mind I have been wanting to build for a few years. Long story short I want to build a walker similar(6 legs, turning body) to Lesley Hisgen's lovely walker here: . I am mostly fascinated by the turning mechanism, I know it is using two turn-table gears. My question is, what is the best solution to get these things to turn simultaneously. I have been searching Youtube to find something similar, but not getting much luck. Or Is there some resources out there with similar functions? or even some sets I can look at to get some ideas. It needs to be low speed and high torque.
  5. those slopes don't look half bad. I am curious where this is going. I am liking the upgrades. though I am not sure about the wings quite yet.
  6. That glossy stove top and tile make a fancy imperial hanger!
  7. I had the same problem, I placed an order for Ep I, but instead got Ep IV. I haven't contacted them yet, I will contact them later today and see what happens then.
  8. You can link pictures directly to the thread by Copying the Image URL (Right click "Copy Img URL") of your picture, then you click on the Image icon (bottom row, middle-ish icon) then paste that URL there. Your picture will then appear on the thread. It would be more helpful for other to see your MOC right away. Also it would be nice for you to give a description of it, something about it you want everyone to know. It is a nice little Vignette MOC. Like something you could put on an office desk.
  9. That would be cool, but Is KotOR even Canon anymore?
  10. Here is some WIP of my take on the X-wing, just the the wings so far. I just have not seen anyone's wings I am really satisfied with. the S-foils should be flat with eachother when collapsed. or if someone accomplished this, the studs are not facing eachother, it looks better with the studs facing up. .
  11. This is a different approach of creating the X-Wing. The cockpit is very original and unique. My favoirte part is the engine, I always wondered how it would come out just using the fenders, not surrounding it with slopes, and it came out better than I thought. You need to have a picture of it closed, since this ships sole unique feature is the engines! I think you did a fine job making the nose slope in, but from certain angles, I feel this technique fails a bit, with all the gaps between plates. espcially the side view that gets me. I also love the water. it really creates the scene for the model.
  12. I am liking this nose a lot better! I am glad I could help in making this model a bit better. Thanks for a shot with the wings closed, it looks great! I may make one some day, when I have time, and I borrow your elements for my own design! This looks great Baronsnat!
  13. I was afraid of that, It just seemed to work for the Z-95 Headhunter. LEGO needs to make a similar piece which is shorter!! just needs to be like 2 studs longer A way I had thought about tackinlg this issue, is to use two and put them on the sides.
  14. Wow this very nice! The engines just like Lego's too! coincidance? I like how the rear thrusters were done. I do think the nose should be a bit longer, and use one these pieces instead for the slope, it would be more seamless. Also, Anymore pictures?
  15. Like everyone else said, Its very good! I red that only the tip of the ship was red? Or Its just way too red for my taste! Interior is really nice. I like how you finished the bottom by completing the sloping angles! A really nice upgrade! Could you post some under pictures?
  16. It's kind of funny for the fact that you have it just standing there and the base is sitting right by it, as if it's a show piece. Do no nothing of what it was intended for! You had it coming. Would it not fit the way it would on the base?
  17. I agree. but times have changed. Sets have turned into models. The older Sets were less complicated builds, less pieces, less features, which requires more imagination. The boxes also featured the alternative builds, which were great to inpsire kids! The newer sets, which are now models, are more complicated builds, more pieces, and more features. So, it is only natural that LEGO had to show the features on the back of the box, as it makes more sense to do that. (that's toy industry for ya). They probably thought the alternative build was useless anymore as kids can come up with their own. A side note. I do fondly remember in LEGO magazine, they feature combined builds of their newest sets, and some instructions. Also feature builds sent in by the Kidos. Not sure if they do this still as I am unsubscribed from it.
  18. Thank you all. I do have an LDD file...But. It is an older version. It's closer to Mike's original design. I can still upload it somehow and share, if you are interested in that?
  19. I love this one. It's very simple build. has all the detail it needs, and fit propper amount of stormies. I like this even better than the scale builds!
  20. Took me a few seconds, but I got it. Great mashup of Star Wars and Attack on Titan. I feel this could be more expanded where there are rebel troopers running around panicking and a few elite rebels getting ready for battle.
  21. it's not cannon anymore? I have never seen it, but ugh, Disney is ruining Star Wars, I am disapointed they changed what happened after episode XI. I know Star Wars is already a franchise, but Disney is going to mega-franchise this. You know it does not look good when there are years and years of already established storyline and Disney goes ahead throws it out the window.. Anyway... Great representaion, I knew what it was without ever seeing it, Just knew about it.
  22. This build actually does resemble the Shuttle very well. Nom was going for a simple design that fits the bill, not accuracy(as stated). Clearly based on the 2001 version, with the update it need. Like the pull out "tray" for the passengers, Great feature! and structural support for the top wing. I can see you are being super critical because you have made one yourself. Yours is also great.
  23. Have you ever played Star Wars battlefront? That provided me with a lot of inspiration when I was designing my Hoth base. But the incredable cross sections like Fuppy mentioned is also a great source. Are you planning on going all out and making the base huge? or just making certain areas of it to keep it small?
  24. Thanks Nom. the Gunship is my favorite republic ship, and I am always pleased to see when someone makes an arc version as well. Yes, canonically speaking I should drop the bubble turrets, but I kept them on since I did not put the frontal doors on (I thought it would be too busy and not fit well, maybe something I'll try in the future). There is also fan art on the web depicting the Arc Gunship as a standard gunship with a different the color scheme. So I took my creative rights, and put them on. As for the troopers, I know what you mean by keeping them all 'symetrical'. But they are a kind of a WIP, as I made custom decals to make them look like the Ep. II clones,(hate the clone wars look). the Rex helmet will be replaced by the Arealight BARC trooper helmet.
  25. This the best speeder I have seen so far, not too big like most. Did you kust guess most of the pieces of what it would be made of?
