  1. Yikes!! Are those spikes shoved in their feet/legs I see??(empty chamber) Almost like they have been injection molded
  2. Most the sets these days are darn near perfect and hard to mod any more.. They have become so complex compared to earlier sets. But I know what you mean. I personally never thought the need to change the underbelly missiles, I thought it was neat how they could drop, those flick fire missiles are hard to shoot anyway. To each is own, I guess. The rest of your mods look great! especially the landing gear.
  3. Yeah VC, click on the "view" tab, then to "new themes", then you will see "LDD Extended". This has all the pieces in LDD in every color, even ones LEGO doesn't produce.
  4. Great! now all you need is the Arc gunship to back them up
  5. This is a spectacualr build! My only gripe is that it looks way too much like the original UCS. Now, I know that's the point. But to me, a steampunk build should resemble the ship to a point where it is recognizable, but also has that 18th century industrial feel to it. there are a lot of qualities I like about this MOC, but i feel it needs to be stripped down more. I don't know, Maybe I am just thinking of a different way to approach it, and everyone has their artistic touch.
  6. The designer must have had a tough time trying to capture the sloping dish like shape of this ship, because he barely pulled it off, but i honestly couldn't think of a better way to do it. (without trying it for myself of course ) Looks like a new windshield to me. And I am pretty sure it is minifig scale, I dont know how much larger this thing needs to be!
  7. I think your cockpit is really neat. But in comparison with the rest of the ship, it looks a bit blocky/square. I think your plate built one works better with it, but I completely understand some issues you would have with it, and its your artistic touch.
  8. I thought this was a modded motorized version at first. but still the video is cool, how do you get that morphing effect with the stop motion?
  9. This is coming along great, you are really capturing all the detail. Thos leaked pictures might help you more too! I am more impressed by how fast you are making progress. I would not have time for this sort of project.
  10. Might be worth quite a bit to some collector! hope you didn't open it yet! I loved this set when I was younger, it was a great imperial army builder. I always took these 2 speeders and the second incarnation of it (the one that came with the Ewok catapult and glider) and connected all the speeders together with long plate pieces, and formed a squadron, which I could control all at once. It was cool!
  11. I have a lot of the older sets, but I could probably part with them. I think the one I would hold onto the most is the 2010 Millennium Falcon. I made so many mods to it, and has a lot of money invested into that way, would hate to see it go. A lot of my bigger sets are either destroyed or Modded up that they aren't even sets anymore
  12. Everyone had the same idea as me! Yes, paint it, and it can explode like the death star!
  13. Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I know it's slightly smaller than scale. I am probably going to take another planet set and paint it, so it doesn't have all the deathstar grooves and the dish indent in it. that way it look more realistic. Exactly what I was thinking!!
  14. Hello everyone, Here is another MOC I have had for awhile. It's been on MOCPages for awhile now, but I thought I would show it off here and get some feedback from you guys. I used Seperatists Sympathizer's amazing idea on the knee joints, but scaled it down a bit, to use a planet set as it's head. Simple right? So what do ya think? Here's SS's original http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/328294 Just thought I would include it with a control center, even though they control themselves.
  15. looks great! Maybe make the rest of the shelf all black, or it would be cool to have a mirror on the other side of the Falcon to give it a complete look. Now I am I thinking this may not work. because the Falcon is not symmetrical.....
  16. All depends on what you like more? Some of these sets you listed could be worth twice it's value on eBay if it is in good condition. Better yet in the box still. Either way, you would probably make a profit, and invest into your OT collection. I like the CW, prequels and OT equally. My collection is mainly battle sets or ships. I built my own B-wing, now I feel the need to collect the other rebel ships. But I am on a budget, and there are many other ships would like to collect from the prequels or CW. But it really comes down to what you like more. I/we can't decide that for you, since we don't know what interest you more.
  17. some figures have way too much detail, Luke's has been one of the worse recently. I always liked the original Luke and original Han. I think it is funny how the original Luke face does not even resemble him, but we all know it to be Luke. I wish they would keep them simple at times, but I know it is just evolution of the brand, and also a way to keep up with customizers along with pushing sales by offering a new figure to the market of people who collect only the figures. Pretty smart Lego. they better never come out with a new mold for battle droids, it wouldn't be right. Just like how they came out with a new mold for snow troopers, now it makes the old ones look like crap and sets off the balance of an army. Does anyone else see what I mean??
  18. Markus, you're amazing. This is the best Star Destroyer bridge I have ever seen. A lot of work for one scene, I hope you get more use out of it.
  19. I like both sets, but for completely different reasons. I like the old one because of, yes, nostalgia. BUT, also had a lot of features to it. such as the rebel cart and especially the little hatch it had in front for Luke's light saber and junk. That's what I like about the older sets, are those little compartments lego put in to put the mini-figures weapons, those were COOL! some of the new sets lack little features like this. Another thing I like about the old sets, is the way they were presented, a lot of 1999-2000 sets had a grey background/hangar looking them going on with it, and I always thought that was neat (That may be just nostalgia talking.) But I like the 2012 also, because of how accurate and sleek it looks, and of course the great minifigures. There is simply no comparison between the two, because they are on different levels, they were created over a decade apart. Lego sets have and will always grow more and more sophisticated over time. I believe the old sets were play sets for children, the new ones are models for children through adults. Lego's marketing strategy has changed vastly over the years, where a lot more of their buyers are now adults instead of children. So of course the new sets are going to be more accurate, they are competing with other builders like ourselves to produce great models. You can say the same about the minifigures. Why do you think the minifigures today are so good and accurate? because it is what we want, and Lego knows they will sell more models when they put exclusive minifigures inside them. i don't think I need to elaborate anymore on that. That is just my opinion.
  20. I was wondering if those are some ball joints connecting the side panels, because that's a great technique!
  21. Looks great! I am working on one also, having trouble fitting two figures in it though.. Too bad you can't open your top hatch, but i guess that makes it wookie proof
  22. Yes this is very excellent! I agree with Csacsa, need energy barrier!
  23. Thanks everyone for the feedback! unfortunately I can't steer it.. I would like to someday. In fact I am working on a much larger version that will steer, but its in development hell right now.. I don't have a belly shot right now, but I can try to explain, it is basically a shaft down the middle with 3 worm screws driving 16 tooth gears at each leg intersection. it is an M-motor, I know, the weakest one.. But i had to make it small to keep the out side looking the same as the original model. I am sorry I did have a few pictures of it in the video of the inside, and you see from the side profile that there is a shaft with 3 worm gears. Zachariah had inspired me to make one, though when I first saw it, I thought that was impossible to replicate, but I did research and figured out how to make one myself! Unfortunately mine does not rotate, I am planning on making one rotate soon! The way he got his to rotate was pretty impressive, it was not true to how a real one would. He had 2 m-motors driving separate shafts. I figured I would stay simple for now.
  24. I have an XL-motor, and yes that would be plenty of power, but unfortunately way too big to fit in without removing the giant slope walls. The L-motor may fit, but the m-motor is just snug as it is. I don't have one though, should look into it. Haha, this is totally true. I believe Wookieepedia is quoting to have said them to go about 60 k/h (37 M/H). I was hoping mine could match it... Thanks! I didn't have much power function knowledge about 2 years ago, but I researched and learned, it's paid off so far I didn't really take many inards pics other than what's in the video. Sorry guys..
