Cool Stand! I haven't seen that before. I think he's referring to this piece, http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=10&itemID=11356

so many odd building techniques that I would have never thought of, the rubber bands around the tiles, the mini-mini-mini-figures. I had to double check that scene in the trailer, I hadn't noticed the snow back drow or white tie fighters. Clever tie build as well! Awesome!

I could never really tell if her lightsabers were the same color or if one was more yellow. Great vignette MOC, I like the greebling on the walls

This looks more like a manufacturing plant than a hangar. Awesome!

Thanks everyone! Some of referance images I used, had both dark tan and brown in it, I incorperated where neccessary, especially on the "ramming" portion. I did like how TLG's version used the dark tan over brown though. I built this from scratch actually and don't own any official version. 90% of the pieces I had gotten from bricklink. But looking at the official version, there is probably only a few pieces that would be in my model.

Excelent! it looks like a cartoon. the shaping and everything is done very well. I don't care much for the eyes, but fits the chibi look

This is my Custom AAT. Like many others, I did not care for the "Bubble" shape of the front of the tank. While a great solution, not very accurate. I thought the 6x6 slope fit perfect, as well as the cheese slopes on the side. The size of the ship was based off the slopes, so it may be slightly smaller than minifig scale. I tried to pack as much detail as possible into it as possible. Including front hatch, rear deployment ramp, and rocket launcher openings. My favorite aspect is the open holes for the launchers. Full Gallery: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/411730 I know some of the color, like the grey dish and dark grey cone, don't fit well, but it was all I have at the moment, and will replace as soon as I can. Let me know what you think!

This is starting to look good. the ship though, is a little outdated and could use some major parts swap for new ones.( just like you replaced the rear windscreen) I'd challenge you to make your own based off of LEGO's. The nose portion I feel needs to be shaped better, the edging sharper. Some mini-fig scale MOCs have capture it perfectly. Look at source material to get a better idea of what I am talking about. I have to say, I do like the use of tiles better than slopes.

I've heard of many different methods. Like Brasso, or nail polish remover, and some elbow grease! I haven't tried any, so I don't have any first hand knowledge. Use the power of Google!

I think he took a Millennium Falcon windscreen, but removed the printed design. giving it just plain clear half cone. Pretty clever.

Flawless! You made the model so simple. The A-wing is not really my favorite ship. but you really captured all the details angles real nicely, showing how sleek it is. I love your idea for the engines, slightly turning the 1/4 cylinders to hide the seams and add strength to it. The nose is my favorite part, Those spike pieces are tricky to use. I recall reading somewhere that the A-Wings nose was also designed for spearing, in the case the pilot has no chance of survival, to do more damage to enemy ships.

Small display/diorama for OG-9 homing spider droid
Smitty500 replied to Davor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
thats not small at all.. But it looks really good for a droid base. I like how the guillotine door a windows are built into the natural looking landscape. -
You've got great stop animation skills, and patience! Cannot agree more!

NIce! Looks very accurate, I like the use of guns as pedals. Too bad the Trooper can't sit.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Why did you make two different posts of the same topic? -
Really? This is the Death Star Play set. you can get it from LEGO.com for $400, even a little cheaper if you have built up VIP points. Not many sites sell it for much cheaper. You can try Ebay, some people sell it "used" for under $400, or even try craigslist. Come on, do some research on your own, We live in the age of the internet, there is a tool called Google, use it.

Great MOC! Imperial Landing Craft+ LAAT/c = Awesome ship combo! Also, looks like it has the front of an AT-TE. Have you thought about maybe adding some "sliding" doors to the sides for troops to get out quicker like a gunship?

[MOC] Clone Wars Vintage Z-95 Headhunter
Smitty500 replied to Kuat Drive Yards's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The proton torpedoes were actually launched on each side of the nose, closer to the cockpit. if you look at Incredible Cross Sections: Book They have it labeled where they are. Great MOC by the way!- 11 replies

I would agree somewhat with Artizan. It was to give us a more diverse color of bricks, rather than just straight blacks, grays, or tans, etc. Since most Star Wars ships are solid metal colors. I think designers used the colors to "pop", an effect used to highlight different textures and features on ships. Kind of the same thing with Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator. Think back to the early sets that were so simple they could be dissembled in a matter of seconds. Giving alternate builds with the number of colors we had. Remember when we had alternate builds on the back of the box? You don't see that anymore. Not since like 2006? LEGO has really stepped their game up this past decade, making their builds more accurate, with new pieces. The sets today are so well put together, you don't even want to take them apart. Sets today use no random colors on the exterior because they have become models rather than play sets. Also, they put random colors for interior/structures usually to be more distinguishable while building the model. Have you ever tried building Megablok's (excuse my language) models and have a heck of a time distinguishing pieces from one another?? Or their instructions Don't do a good job at explaining them....

LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter - Chewy's 1st Review!
Smitty500 replied to Chewybricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You were using your phone? if so that's pretty good quality. What kind of 4k camera were you looking into? And B-roll is like, best I can describe as, fill in footage that you use while editing. It makes sense if you are familiar with editing. -
LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter - Chewy's 1st Review!

White can still have a nice flow from back drop to to table. I have seen Soft box lighting kits on Amazon run for pretty cheap ($25-$30?), or you can make your own if you have the technical skills. which may cost a bit more than buying a cheap soft box, but it may be better quality. You should have at least have two lights I don't think your sound was bad at all, were you using the camera microphone? I wouldn't get a lapel Microphone because of your costume, ehrrmm, fur. I would get a shotgun mic, these pick up sounds directly in front of it. Keep in mind, microphones aren't cheap, even lower end ones. I understand your issue of being in a small room, maybe you can make a tear down studio, where you set it up quickly and make it compact for storage (maybe in that closet your shooting in currently?) I am not sure of your living situation, and having to set up can be a pain, depending how many videos you are shooting per week. I am not sure what your intentions are, if you are making these videos for fun and enjoy sharing your opinion, then that's great!! But if you are trying to gain attention and be one of the top reviewers, it may be a good idea to invest in some more equipment. Good work comes at a high price though, and I don't want to break your bank. I like the idea of an intro. I don't know if you have editing capabilities, but maybe try throwing in some B-roll? to break up the same static shot. Good luck!
